I drove off a cliff in the Nomad with Drack aboard. His reaction made it worth it.

Hm, two different opinions. :) I'll see what happens. At least I can look forward to seeing if she actually improves.

Raga wrote:Peebee doesn't bother me as much as I thought she would. Sera's just an idiot. An idiot who somehow thinks her idiocy is a feature and not a bug. I haven't got to her personal quest yet, but I think it's more apparent that Peebee has actual issues of some kind that probably have their routes in something(s) that happened to her. She's also not in your face about how "right" she is like Sera was.

I still wonder what the design decision was behind Sera. Then again, I found most characters in DA:I to be sub-par compared to prior companions, so maybe the entire design team was fucked from the start. But Sera just stands out like someone you'd normally be sent to take care of... and not in the nice way.

Someone With Mass wrote:Man, I have barely left the Nexus because my impulse to scan and do everything before the main mission kicked in.

Also, I got the Talon in the multiplayer and it's just sad that it does more damage and has a tighter spread than my Katana shotgun which is three levels above it. Still love that little revolver, though.

Going for the Crusader, I hope it is still as awesome as it was in ME3.

Someone With Mass wrote:All I have to say about the in-game animations (aside from that it's painfully obvious when they switch to motion cap), is that I think they should have made characters gesture more with their arms/bodies. A lot of people back in the old days became obsessed with that littler skip Tali does when you say that the feelings are mutual in ME2. How would her romance had been if she and Shep had just stood there and talked?

Yeah, the stiff body postures and lack of cinematic editing really hurt this game. I get the principle, you don't get taken out of the world by going into a cutscene, but cutscenes just work so much better at conveying emotions and drama. I'm very happy that the guys from The Witcher 3 went to the effort of always doing cutscenes.

You know for all the shit it's been getting. It's a decent game, there are jank facial animations and regular ones. But I haven't seen to many actually happen to me as of yet. Some of the dialogue is good and some of it is fucking terrible. But there is a decent game under all the rough shit slapped on top.

Sera was a pretentious idiot who was immature and childish. Having played a bit into the game, it's clear Peebee isn't anything like her. Yeah, Peebee goes her own way, but she's not IN YOUR FACE about it the entire time like Sera was. She's more like "look, leave me and my shit alone, I just want to do cool science stuff and to not be stereotyped."

She has far more in common with characters like Mordin and Kasumi than she does with Sera. She's less a hipster dumbass and more of a young mad scientist type whose genius keeps her from fitting into societal norms. Maybe that character isn't for everyone, but at least it's a character. Unlike Liara.

AND AT LEAST I DONT NEED SUBTITLES TO UNDERSTAND HER UNLIKE GOD DAMN SERA FUCK

Also, yeah, that transgender girl pissed me off, too. Bioware isn't half as progressive as you'd think they are. They brag on and on about alien porn scenes or whatever, but they're only for Peebee and Cora. Gay men got the shaft. Actually, they didn't? Poor phrasing on my part. Point is, they need to either fucking own it and do it right, or get some people who can. Seriously, for as much as they go on about it, it's shit like that, and like Jacob that shows you for what assholes some of their staff really are.

Some more observations:

Male Ryder has Trump hands. I mean, who holds their hands like this when they are putting them up in surrender?
The male squid-cats look kinda cool, the females look like someone has drawn their first alien and got the face all wrongly proportioned.

Yeah, that kett shotgun is fucking incredible. Completely un-upgraded it obliterates most enemies in three or less shots. That isn't even including my damage bonus from cloak.

Cant wait to have them patch it...

Just met Drack. Had Vetra with me, so I didn't have to introduce myself. Was a nice intro.

Then the game took a massive shit by throwing sudoku puzzles at me when I'm neither in the mood or in a not sleep-deprived set of mind to solve them. After I failed twice, I couldn't interact with the console anymore, so I said fuck it and quit. Seems to be a theme. The game makes me want to play it by showing something intriguing, but then something really dumb (like setting me back ten minutes or pitching me against kett when I don't have enough ammo because the last encounter didn't provide me with an ammo box) happens that makes me not want to play anymore.

Just bring back the hacking mini-games. At least there, it was over within seconds and I didn't have to think about it. Better yet, don't have bullshit like that at all and don't bring the flow to a screeching halt. They're not fun either.

I explored Rem ruins and found those override keys so i been using those for when I cant solve the puzzle. I still dont fully understand how to solve them. I understand what it seems to tell me but I just seem to be doing something wrong.

As long as it's not math puzzles I'm good. I always liked when games put in riddles and then there would be some dumb math problem stuck in the middle of the riddles. If I wanted to do math problems I'd take algebra again.

Oh, after doing Drack's little thing regarding Spender, Addison really is the worst. A new frontier, and I think I can safely say Addison is the biggest bitch in the galaxy.

On the upside, not a single batarian in the journey so far. I'm pleased to know we left the rabble behind.

@Raga: She's Aria Lite at worst, which is a big step up for that sort of character. I'm not sure how malleable the story is though.

@Azint: Can't stand her. The Spencer subplot made it so much worse. The sole reference that batarians exist(ed) is a planet named after their first astronaut in the middle of nowhere.

Protip: If you're going to make a scene with subtle implications, don't play spooky music in the background, because duh.

The thing with Aria though is that Omega was a pisshole long before she ever got there. Aria is just galactice status quo. Sloane Kelly is a traitor who used other people's resources and ingenuity to get to another galaxy and then bailed, putting thousands of lives at risk, because she's a petulant child who didn't get her way. Aria is like El Chapo, awful but hardly new or unexpected. Sloane Kelly is like fucking Cliven Bundy with El Chapo's resources and tactics. She is much, much worse. (Sorry for the analogy but I'll take it to the politics thread if it goes too far down that road).

Aria never really bothered me. She just kind of was. It's probably because Omega's such a pisshole that her posturing just doesn't even register. Sure, lady, strut over your rotting pile of garbage all you like if that makes you feel better.

Y'know, after running around with the Spazzryder for close to 20 hours by now, I really appreciate 100% more how Shepard had it together. The character really is a pretty awkward type.

Also, his running animation looks hilariously derpy.
