This isn't the Army way, it's the "get off your ass" way. Far more productive than just sitting around, suffering.
Fucks sake, I have a bum knee. Locks up and dislocates at times. Know what's made it happen less? Exercise. Physical therapy. When I had bronchitis? Fresh air, walking made it go away faster. Sitting around makes shit worse.
Guarantee you if anyone else said it you'd say "Hey yeah that's a good idea."
No, I'd say, "nah, imma rest as that's what the doctors are telling me to do, rather than aggravate my lungs any further with needless strain at this time." And they'd understand I'm in the deep shit areas of bronchitis when aggravating it would do more harm than good.
And I'd take any doctors word over yours any day.
It's not even what you say but the way you say it. The "get off your ass" attitude implies you think we're bring lazy by taking medical professionals advice over your own.
I'm sorry but if it comes to you or my doctor I'm going to listen to them, their advice will be 100% better than yours in the long run.
And if you do truly think i'm lazy for listening to my doctor, fine, you can fuck off and think that then, because my healthcare isn't in competition with your ego's need to feel right.
