Usually that's just something constantly rubbing on that area.

My father wore knee high tube socks for so long that he had no more hair on his legs below the knee eventually.

This is most likely not as sudden as you think, and had been going on for a while.

That was my first thought, but the skin is intact. And any force strong enough to shave that much of my calf smooth without damaging the skin should've been very blatant. Couldn't have been the knurling during deadlifts either, wrong spot. And the hair is growing back, but it's only stubble right now, so it was within the last week. Quite strange.

Hm. I wear ankle socks, but it _might_ be the way I sit in this chair. Since my left hip is wonky, I sit with my legs cross, left over right, and my left calve is exposed when my pants hitch up. If I bob it without thinking during INTENSE GAMING ACTION, that might be the friction...

I have it on the same spot. I think it's because I fold/cross my legs a lot and that area always rests on my opposing knee.

Usually having to do with friction and clothing.

Shit, we had enough dudes have friction burns between their thighs because wearing 200 pounds worth of gear and walking 12 miles with an improper gait that we all learned that shit intimately.

Best bet is to stop the actions that might cause it, and wear loose clothing around there for a while. But, it might be permanent. Then again, body hair in the south isn't exactly nominal because it's fucking stupid there concerning temperature.

It beats the hair I'm losing on the top of my head. I have plenty of hair, except for a spot where there's next to nothing. Going to have to wear a cap or something a little more often soon, because it doesn't look pretty.

Or I'm going bald. I've grown my hair out again, and it's past my pecs, and it's quite alarming to see just how many hairs a man sheds in a given day. Got a nice early horse-shoe going on the crowns, but thankfully it's holding position, and with my bangs so long, you can't see it. But whenever I go back to short style, it's going to make me look 5 years older.

I tend to look like Ted from Scrubs when I get my hairs too long at this point. I do my best to keep them short all the time, and I'll probably go full shaved before I'm mid-30s... Honestly if they just felt off on their own they'd do me a favor at this point.

I have been playing the shit out of Red Dead Redemption 2 the past week and sincerely enjoying it, though it's basically playing a game with my dad as the main character. Not so much the outlaw bit, but the personality, general demeanor, way of talking, and overall outlook of Arthur Morgan might as well be my dad's twin brother. He was born in the wrong century and should totally have been some kind of prospector or fur trapper making his living in the wilderness of the Rockies or West Texas circa 1857.

Pros:
Stellar horses. Seriously the best video game horses, by like leaps and bounds.

Extremely good environments, graphics, and attention to detail. I really appreciate the detail on animals in particular (and not just horses). There is a lot of realism in the hunting & fishing sideline stuff that I find really enjoyable.

Sincerely likable characters and engaging plot with none (or at least very little) of the juvenile tripe that usually plagues Rockstar games

Cons:

Jankass controls (other than for the horses), just clunky and awkward as all getout. Any game that lets in you walk in a store and accidentally shoot a shopkeeper in the face when you are trying to pick up the store catalog has got issues.

Clunky as fuck menu system which just adds to the clunky controls

Stupid save system which gimps any ability to manually save. I get what they are going for here, but when your game has the aforementioned "shoot shopkeepers in face" button and then you also insist I can't just reload when I accidentally press it without losing a bunch of progress: fuck that, basically.

My enjoyment is honestly at like a 9.5/10 but a more realistic score given the craptacular controls is probably 8.5/10. A game with bad controls is pretty much inexcusable. It's like a novel with bad spelling and grammar. Or a movie with a jittery, shaky camera.

Does it still have that oh so realistic but annoying feature of a character maintaining movement after you let go of the stick and they still need to take a few extra steps to slow down, which makes precision maneuvering pretty much impossible? Because that's been a pain in the ass ever since GTA 4.

Yeah. Movement in general is .5 seconds behind the button press. They are going for uber realism so your movements are very much in the realm of what you'd expect of a human's real capacity for movement. And on top of that the controls are *extremely* slow, even when you have sensitivity cranked all the way up. So any kind of precision maneuvering is just out of the question.

I just finished this mission where I had to chase this little shit street urchin in St. Denis (Rockstar New Orleans) through the streets after he picked my pocket and it was just a nightmare. Morgan turns corners with the general handling of a schoolbus and any little obstacle or steep slope or slightly bad jump will send him ass over head. I never thought I'd be begging to get an Assassin's Creed type control setup, but I couldn't help thinking "Goddamn just give me Ezio for this." If you want uber realistic human movements and your main guy is a cowpoke wearing boots and carrying 30 pounds of firearms and polecat pelts, parkour shit should just be out of the question.
