Just read more about it. I'm afraid it's the latter... in hindsight the title is already a big hint. Basically it's Warhammer Vermintide, but set in the 40k universe with mutants and cultists. It's made by the same people.

Will likely still be fun, but I definately liked the idea of some kind of 40k survival horror more.

And yeah, seems like the enemy horde is Nurgle stuff.

Alot of Nurgle stuff is big and bloated. I don't remember all my Chaos cultists, since I prefer the xenos factions, but I'd be REALLY surprised if it was a Great Unclean One, since that's the kind of stuff that even Space Marines have troubles dealing with. Some kind of big rotting Chaos Spawn or Demon Host tho? That I can definately see being a boss or a rare monster.

I don't mind the L4D and Vermintide style of gameplay, but if you have to do that for 40k, I'd rather have it played more ala Starship Troopers and you be a random Guardsman in the middle of a Tyranid rush or an Ork Waagh. Whatever creepyness and atmospher the Underhive setting has, it's gonna be eaten away really quickly if every 3 seconds you have your screen filled by screeching monsters.

I really hope it doesn't turn into that other W40K game, where you're equipped with Terminator armor aboard a Space Hulk and still get your shit pushed in every third minute because there's no proper way of recovering from damage. Oh and I hope that they'll have more than just Nurgle crap to throw at you. Sure, guardsmen aren't expect to be able to deal with Tau, Eldar, orks, Necrons or Tyranids, but they're thrown against them all the same.

From what I've gathered it's a recon team of either alcolytes of the Inquisition or of some planetary defense force. So literally lower than the lowest Guardsmen stuff. So no o.p. power armor for them, that's for sure

The old G4 talent HATED G4. Most have moved on to do their own projects, and have had nothing but horrible things to say about the company.

Our power went out for a few hours. That was fun. Thankfully it was late in the day, so the heat didn't do much, but when I called the power company and they said, "Earliest it'll be back is 11 PM," got a mite worried. Since the gas was out too, means someone fucked up real bad down the line.

Ah, yes, power outages. Luckily, living in Germany I don't have to deal with them. But, since I lived in Paraguay, I know them all too well. My mom, who lives there now, still has to deal with them every few days, although they usually don't last too long.

I have Xbox Game pass, and with the points I earn from doing MS's Bing searches and daily quests I'm basically getting games for free. So I've been busy with Gears 5. Downloaded Nier: Automata as well which I'm very excited about and some others that escape me. Last I remember I went out to scan some planets for a couple weeks and was on my way back to civi to collect the rewards. Haven't gone as far out as you have yet.

This is the one I use, and its done pretty well by me thus far.

Its a bit expensive, but its a hell of a lot cheaper to replace a $150 UPS than it is a whole computer.

That's the unit my mentor uses. He has 4 computers on it plus multiple drives. I'm not drawing that much power right now. Plus I think the smaller unit would fulfill my budget as I'm not planning any large hardware additions to my studio for the next year or so.

@Rune: since i"m not actually running audio hardware at the moment and I have just my computers and an audio interface I think I'll try this unit out and see if it works with me. If not I'll look into a different unit.

@Maz: When I log in next I'll tell you what system I'm in and where I'm heading. I want to add to this Wheel thing.

Neither am I, but here's the deal.

The batteries of these backups eventually fail, and it is easier and more cost effective to replace the battery of one of these higher end ones, than a cheap one.

Wow, not only is Naoto waifu, but she is also the most broken overpowered party member I have ever seen in a video game.

Persona 4 Golden is awesome.

I heard she was awful in the base game, but I only played Golden, where she was both very useful and my waifu, so she never left the party. Though I recall in one of the later dungeons, she was kinda gimped, but eh. At that point you have enough power and consumables to brute force anything.

It seems like there was a lot in the base game that left something to be desired. I'm pretty glad I waited to play Golden. I own a PS2 copy of the game, but I was always constantly worried that I would be supremely disappointed when I started plating it. Golden is a much happier experience. I genuinely am enjoying the game.

Its not as good as 5, but its damned close.

I only wish 3 held up as well. Im hoping if they do a PC release of 3, it gets some MAJOR updates.

You just know there was one guy on the team who knew what a "bussy" was. The whole time. But he kept his mouth shut, even during meetings when people were saying, "We want everyone to ride the eBussy! On long trips, on rough trips, through mudslides and full moons." But as we expand closer to the target of Sol we may need the data to be dropped elsewhere, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

I just beat persona 4 Golden.

Man, what a game. Its really a wonderful time. Its dungeons aren't even in the same league as Persona 5, but even with that, it was still a fantastic game.

If you like 5, you have to play 4. At least 4 Golden which is available on steam. It aged just fine, and has extremely likable characters (except Rise). I just cant say enough good things.

Much like 5, I'd give Persona 4 an easy 10/10.

Haven't played many JRPGs, but I've heard nothing but good things about the Persona games, so it's nice to have further confirmation. I'll add it to my Steam wishlist.

There is a slight learning curve, but at this point enough people with enough diverse opinions of games have agreed with me that I think it really is one of those rare series that transcends people preferred genres.

It is also one of the only game series that, when the game is over, will genuinely trigger sadness in me. Not because the end is sad (its usually not) but because I dont get to hang out with my "friends" anymore.

They're like the good parts of the Citadel DLC except 120 hours long, and not tied to the hottest garbage ending imaginable.

Neir: Automata is a hell of a game so far. Just made it to the first save point after three deaths, one of them was at the beginning of the boss fight. I LOVE the way they move from one game style to another, I love how crisp the game looks so far. I can't wait to play it again.
