Metal Gear Solid 5 is the dumbest one story wise.

It manages to out-stupid Metal Gear Solid 2. I'm only at the first set of credits, and I know there is more game after this, but this story is just imbecilic.

Also, while it is mechanically very sound, it does not need to be an Open World game with a weird free-to-play side game. I went from liking it a good deal to getting utterly fed up with it.

Ranking them from best to worst now, its definitely 3, 1, 4, 5, 2. And its starting to get closer and closer to 2.

Also Konami according to rumors actively sabotage the development by cutting Kojima from personally leading his team, BW teams didn't have those issues to deal with that Kojima had to deal with.

Perhaps, but it's pretty clear (act 2 is mostly filler) he was far from done with writing the story and finishing out the details.

The Kojima isn't perfect, but I far perfer MGS5 to what DA2 was (which also overstayed it's welcome and it's had time skips in it's plot that executed in the worst way in any media and good portion of the main cast was also unlikable).

Their goal appears to _be_ to take Rastakhan prisoner, as they ask him to surrender once the Ally raid fights through to the top of the pyramid, as well as burning half the Golden Fleet. Rasta absolutely refuses then powers up with Bwomsamdi power and dies fighting. You guys start in Nazmir, west of the temple, I think, and fight through to the Blood Gates, then up to the pyramid, then I guess back down to the docks to burn the ships and escape with Jaina, where the Horde raid is right behind.

Mekka is alive, technically, from the sounds of it. Frozen, but dead if thawed, which is a big thematic difference. If another big valk goes down, I believe that means Sylvanas doesn't have enough to be rezzed again, no?

Depends on your perspective. Rastakhan brings wisdom, respect, and stability, Talanji's a Disney Princess with a dead patron loa, now a patron loa of dead because of her dad's pact, and she's apparently quite young. That and half the fleet is burned, so now Kul Tiras is objectively the strongest naval power in the world.

Also Vol'jin's arc continues. Appears that he's something, a loa or near to it, but the Lich King, Eyir, and Bwonsamdi all deny involvement in bringing him back from the Other Side or whispering him to make Sylvanas warchief. So the plot thickens. I don't think it's an Old God, because they fear Sylvanas and it's not their MO to do that kind of soul fuckery with Vol'jin. But he mentions he was externally weakened on the Broken Shore when he got shanked, he did reach the Other Side, he cannot hear _any_ of the loas, and the power required to bring him back and make him so strong is beyond Eyir's reach, but he's "touched by valor." So I still believe it's the active personification of Death, something new and greater than loa or demi-gods.

The scepter that the Horde steals from Boralus at the end of our campaign, I'd imagine, but that should be in the treasury, which is below the king's throne. So either it was a multi-objective raid, someone called an audible, or something else is going on.

Uhh, sorta. I'd say that strategically, the Alliance succeeds pretty well here. The Zandalari fleet is crippled, the king is dead, presumably a lot of the infantry that survived after G'huun's attack are too, plus all those champions of the loa. Jaina is alive, Mekkatorque is out of the picture for the moment, but you don't put someone in cyro if you plan to just let them die. The effect is a new queen and the Horde will definitely gain them as allies, albeit now they're much weaker than they were. I can't imagine Jaina's too badly injured, unless the idea is to sideline her for a while, or otherwise depower her, because the Alliance top brass is legitimately on another level of power. And Tyrande is even getting that powerup from Elune (and losing her heels, RIP).

But I'll cop to the greater point, it has seemed like the Alliance has been the righteous ones, but with terrible execution until miracles happen, while the Horde has poor intentions, but gets shit done. This is a reversal, in that we're playing defense for the sake of new "friendships," fail utterly, and vice-versa. Which is presumably intentional in the narrative. Our turn to take some lumps.

But Arathi is clearly going to the Alliance, a random new Horde fortress is not going to be the canon victor over Stromgarde. Darkshore, I don't know. The Forsaken need a new zone for themselves, but Tyrande is getting the Night Warrior thing, going all old school.
