"Fans of X-Men: The Animated Series are in luck as the episode count of the revival show, alongside a release window, was revealed by the original writers. Speaking during an interview on Justin Underwood's YouTube channel, writers Eric and Julia Lewald opened up about what audiences can expect from the highly-anticipated X-Men '97 series. "There is great love and affection and respect from an entire group of people that are doing this show, starting at the top with Beau DeMayo as the showrunner. And they have this challenge, I believe, looking at 10 episodes for the first season that’s gonna come out mid-next year, and they’re starting it soon after ours ended." While Marvel Studios already confirmed that the show would release in 2023, this is the first mention of a more specific window. The writers of the original X-Men: The Animated Series also confirmed that '97 will have clear links to their series, with many references that fans will undoubtedly recognize. The long-awaited revival will seemingly pick up where the first series concluded, building on what came before. Despite its announcement at Disney+ Day 2021, little is known about X-Men '97. The series is helmed by Beau DeMayo, known for their work on Netflix's The Witcher and The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, and will feature the return of many of the original voice cast. Confirmed actors include Cal Dodd, Lenore Zann, George Buza, Adrian Hough, Christopher Britton, Catherine Disher, Chris Potter, Alison Sealy-Smith and Alyson Court, all of whom will reprise their roles. Production on X-Men '97 is already underway as Dodd, who plays James "Logan" Howlett/Wolverine, recently shared a behind-the-scenes photo of himself in a recording booth. "Guess what I was doing in the studio today? SO great to be back!!!" wrote Dodd, while holding up three fingers in a manner reminiscent of Wolverine's claws. X-Men: The Animated Series is widely recognized as one of Marvel's best adaptions, faithfully capturing the magic of the mutants with storylines that appealed to both younger audiences and fans of the comics. The show ran for five seasons, ending in 1997, hence the name of the revival show. It's currently unknown if X-Men '97 plans on following the blueprint of an established arc or whether it will focus on telling an original story."

“The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim” — the original anime feature from New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. Animation — is set for release on April 12, 2024 from Warner Bros. Pictures, Variety can report exclusively.

Set roughly two centuries before the events of J.R.R. Tolkien’s “The Hobbit” and “The Lord of the Rings,” “The War of the Rohirrim” will explore the exploits of Helm Hammerhand, the King of Rohan, and the creation of Helm’s Deep, the stronghold featured in Peter Jackson’s “The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers.”

Kenji Kamiyama (the TV series “Blade Runner: Black Lotus” and “Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex”) is directing with “Blade Runner: Black Lotus” producer Joseph Chou through his anime studio Sola Entertainment, which has been working on the film since it was announced in June 2021.

The stowaway dino on the boat was just a Compy.

Thanks to the Mosa the kids don't reach Costa Rica and land on a new island. This island is never named and we never find out where exactly it is compared to Nublar or the rest of the Five Deaths.

Manta Corp is finally front and center. They're basically making a Dino Fight Club on the island. Robot drones, chemical injections that cause hyper-aggression, electro-magnetic fields and mind control chips force the dinos to try to kill each other, with the idea that the super rich will pay big bucks to watch. Some of the dinos are grown by Manta Corp from stolen DNA samples from Ingen/Masrani, but others were directly transported off of Isla Sorna, including a new T-Rex pair consisting of a mother and child, and the JP3 Spinosaurus. They build the different biomes for variety in combat arenas and housing.

It's still not known if Manta Corp are a third party or if they have any connections with BioSyn, but maybe BioSyn is selling Site B dinos to Manta Corp for extra cash or using them as a proxy or puppet to test new technologies without any risk or expenditure. Or maybe they'll buy them out next season after their inevitable collapse.

There's a scientist who has a device that allows for limited communication with some dinosaurs and can calm them down when they're agitated. (Definitely something thrown in for the little kid audience this show is aimed at.)

The Spino doesn't get a lot of screen time, but it does get treated as a big deal whenever it is (even if the children have plot armor a mile thick that saves them without fail). And its specially mentioned as really hating humans in particular, lining up with some of the supplemental lore material than the Spino was horribly mistreated and experimented on by its creators when it was young before being let loose on Site B.

We see a new hybrid, a mix between Spinosaurus and Sinoceratops. One of the kids even says "What is up with this obsession with hybrids?!"

There's a Smilodon, but it doesn't last long and gets eaten by the Spino.

A pack of Dilophosaurus show up at the end. Bigger than the one in JP, but still much smaller than the real-life one.

Kenji's dad is revealed to be the CEO of Manta Corp. DUN DUN DUUUUUUN! What a twist!
