And considering that even huge animals like elephants are surprisingly good swimmers, honestly a swimming T.rex is not that implausible, truth be told. Tho that's probably a closer relative, like a Daspletosaurus, who would have lived on the coasts of the north american inland sea.

That’s neat. Opens up a ton of possibilities. Its just a hard concept to wrap your brain around at first because you see it in cartoons and video games and whatnot and you kinda condition yourself to accept it as just being part of that “Rule of Cool” factor, but yeah, when you sit down and think about it, it doesn't seem as farfetched as it first appears.
