Visuals are very pretty though, and a story about the mop of a world that lost to the 'Crons is neat. Silent King is on a whole different power scale, suppose only Magnus would be a viable fight, assuming no blackstone tech on hand.

Got a less quantifiable list of resolutions this year, managed 4/6 of last years. Of the ones not too personal to share...

Lift weights once a week
Be better at drawing than I am now
Read 10 books
Become better at Japanese than I am now
Make 2 games (one of the ones I failed last year)
Create positive mental feedback loops
Attend church at least once
No "mindless browsing" sites before 9 PM on weekdays

Pretty sure I got COVID again, from my aunt at my late uncle's memorial. Sinus pain, dry cough, utterly drained. Just finished making a nice New Years dinner, sat down to eat it and immediately lost all energy, took a 3 hour nap.

As an aside, I'm getting new carpet installed in 600 of my 760 sqft condo and boy is that a tough one. My room is 3/4 filled and I still have large furniture to move in. It's real life Tetris.

Corona is still laying me low. Not too bad, just really annoying. Cough, sore throat, the runs, etc. Been so long since I've been sick last, it's like seeing an old friend who you didn't realize was kind of jerk.

Having tested the new mode for a few rounds, it's infuriating trash. The idea is really cool, and the skins that are all $$$ gated, but the implementation is misery. To unlock everything, you need to get 300 kills as every single hero. Each game is a first to 20 kills. So at the very best, you would need to win 15 games as each hero to unlock just their reward (not the skin of course). Depending on which map you get, you outright can't play certain heroes, or you'll get dunked on. And if you can't play Widow and Lucio, and to a degree Ram, to a very high skill level, at least GM by how brutal the matches I got into were, you're going to accomplish nothing but feeding the scoreboard. Until you get ult, then with Widow you turn an enemy to stone and can line up your headshots. Except most of the heroes are tanks, so you'll need multiple headshots, and they don't stay frozen the whole time. Also the maps are too small given the high-mobility heroes, so you're going to get flanked in the process. Lucio's ult, near as I can tell, just lets you shoot without reloading. Both are pointless, you need to be extremely good with them already to make use of them. Then on the smaller maps, the game often comes down to spawn luck. I had a match where I got consistently spawned _right_ in front of players popping their ults, for near instant kills, many lives in a row, and there's nothing that can be done about that. A notable one was on a thin ledge overlooking a death pit, with the only path up right where a charging Rein and a Pharah with her boop missile was ready to fire. No possible play.

So you're really heavily incentivized to play certain heroes on certain maps, and swap as counters appear, but that's contrary to the ridiculously high quota of kills you have to grind out to get the voice line or title or whatever the reward is, and the experience is disorientating and arbitrary as to if you'll die in a second or get to fight. Good idea, bad execution.
