Actual live ones? Like they blew up after wards? What is that like?

I've shot many a gun and know about range etiquette and safety and rules and warnings and when to announce that you're going to shoot and where not to aim and how to hold when unloaded and all that important stuff. Is it the same way?

When you pull the pin and sweep the safety, the only thing keeping you from losing various parts is the spoon you're keeping tight to the grenade. Then they have you hold it next to your head in preparation for the throw. Knowing that you have a live explosive filled with RDX and steel shrapnel maybe touching your ear? Some got unnerved, I was excited.

Weapons fire and range etiquette apply, but for grenades you're in a small roofless bunker that you take cover in. A grenade has 3 safeties. A pin, a safety latch, and the spoon. You follow the cadre's instructions to the letter or they have the full ability to twist you up in a pretzel. When that spoon goes ping, you have 5 seconds to get that fucker away from you as far as possible. The concussion from the explosion thumps you through the concrete bunker, and it feels euphoric. At least it was for me, we had guys who pissed themselves.

I'd highly suggest it at a specialty range. You'll maybe get something out of it.

Grenade launchers are more traditional range style, although the Mk-19 is a belt fed automatic. That's mounted to a vehicle. Still, you get the good thump, and figuring out the launcher's parabolic arc and headshotting the Ivan targets is fun.

Hopefully, Dice has a better head on their shoulders than when they last delivered a Star Wars game. Their Battlefront got better over time with the substantial content they added through DLC, but a lot of those things should have been in the game from the beginning.

(If he threatens Mars, the Necrons might get involved because of the sleeping C'Tan there. And all that pysker energy could attract the Tyranids, too.) Abaddon dies. The Daemon Primarchs then take center stage.

I wasn't there, I was asleep because I've been feeling like trash lately, but I've seen what was left of it and holy shit. The amount of forced needed to push in the back door like that is way more gas than what you need on a parking lot.

There's always something about the car. If it's not working, it gets wrecked. If it's not wrecked, it can't pass the safety tests.

Well, at least I can take pleasure in knowing that it didn't end up good for the shithead's car either.

Finished the Star Wars novel Aftermath: Empire's End and halfway through the new Thrawn book.

Palpatine had so many diabolical contingency plans set to go off in the event of his death its not even funny. The galaxy is going to be suffering from his post-death machinations for quite some time.

Reading about Thrawn's new canon story has been fun.

Thrawn met Anakin Skywalker during the Clone Wars. Anakin's report on Thrawn made a favorable impression on Palpatine. Thrawn and Vader get along very well. Like Tarkin, Thrawn knows Vader is Anakin.

Palpatine felt a powerful Dark Side pulse coming from the Unknown Regions. A pulse Vader could not feel, interestingly enough. Palpatine became fascinated with the Unknown Regions, and whatever this dark presence is.

Thrawn's exile is the same as it was in the old EU… until plot twist! It was a ruse by the Chiss. They wanted Thrawn to be found so he could assess whether the Empire was a reliable ally. They want the Empire's help dealing with a powerful & mysterious enemy, an enemy that could one day threaten the Empire as well. Thrawn is accepted into the Empire by Palpatine because of his extensive knowledge of the Unknown Regions, which contributed to Palpatine's secret plans. And Thrawn gets the Empire's aid in defending the Chiss and bringing order to the chaotic Unknown Regions.

Parck, the Strikefast, Sy Bisti, the Togorians, and Admiral Ar'alani are back in canon.

The Eclipse, the Emperor's flagship, was sent out in secret to hide in the Unknown Regions. Palpatine personally selected the loyalist people he wanted to go to the Unknown Regions to regroup and form the First Order in the event of his death, and planned on having the rest of the Empire be destroyed along with the Rebels by having them all gather and fight on Jakku and destroying the whole planet mid-battle, wiping out everyone on the surface and in orbit in the explosion. If he wasn't around to rule the Empire, than the Empire wasn't worthy to exist in his eyes. Clear the board and set up a new one with the First Order.

Palpatine had secret facilities built on numerous planets throughout the galaxy called the "Observatories". Among other things they contained hangars with a replica of his private yacht, an ancient computer system that might be from the old Sith Empire, old encrypted charts of the Unknown Regions, store rooms full of ancient Sith artifacts, battery cells stored with life-engery extracted from people via Sith Alchmey, giant telescopes/scanners looking into the Unknown Regions and beyond the galaxy's horizon (a subtle nod to the extra-galactic Yuuzhan Vong, perhaps?) and boreholes drilled directly into the planets' cores.

Sloane makes the journey to the Unknown Regions and she helped organize the Imperial Remnant into the First Order. Thrawn also contributed to the Emperor's contingency project, though when and in what way is not revealed.

The droid Mr. Bones, who is constructed from the parts and programming of numerous past droids, is partially made up of HK-47. "COMMENTARY: I SAY WE BLAST THE MEATBAG AND SAVE YOU THE TROUBLE, MASTER." Mr. Bones may also have parts of General Grievous' brain cybernetics mixed in there as well.

Jar Jar Binks is alive, but shunned and hated by all on Naboo except for some refugee children he entertains at a local orphanage as a clown. He was kicked out of the Senate, banned from Theed and exiled from Otoh Gunga again.

@Drag: I don't watch Rebels, but I did see some clips of Thrawn being super cool and only losing due to other peoples' bullshit/Force MacGuffin. I'd probably watch the show if it wasn't 100% going to be a Rebel victory, since the Imps are way cooler.

Story of my life. It's always been like that for me. Feels like the world outside my family does nothing but take from me and giving jack and shit in return while expecting my all at the same time. I've been trying to be nice to the best of my abilities, but when it's met with indifference or a lack of care simply because I'm not vocal enough (hello, social anxiety), I'll start thinking that it's not worth the effort. Couple that with the fact that my life feels so empty these days, I don't really know what to do with myself. It feels like I can do more, but I don't know what or how to even start and it's a daily struggle for me. Like a never-ending tug of war.

Sometimes, it definitely feels like I've been cursed for past actions. The past is also sometimes the only thing that motivates me, because I'll think of the days when I was happy and I'll do anything that'll make me feel just a little nostalgic, even if it's something as simple as riding my bike next to the open fields, feeling a breeze of summer air or looking at the midnight moon. Maybe it's the uncertainty of the future that scares me. I don't know.

Compared to a few years ago, I feel very...unmotivated. For anything. It's a paradox, really. If I think that doing something won't bring me happiness, I won't bother to try, because it feels like it'll lead to the same road in the end. But how could I know?

Nope. Worst thing I had today was...an anxiety attack? I don't know what to call it. Nothing new. Feel like shit and like nothing matters, on the brink of tears, but it lasts for only a couple of minutes. Happens every couple of days. I'll try not to start a rant, because I guess that gets old for a lot of people.

Haven't had anyone threaten to throw out my stuff though, so I can't really relate to that situation, but I hope it works out for you without anything of personal value ending up in the trash. My mom doesn't really know what of my stuff is valuable or trash (aside from the obvious trash), so she doesn't use that against me.

Edit: Now that I think about it, I did get a little messed up when my old Nintendo 64 was about to go out. I really don't like that the second some electronic isn't used, it's considered garbage, but some dusty old chair or painting that someone's great great grandmother had is to be preserved at all costs. My consoles have a lot more emotional value than some old fart's ass warmer. Then again, I tend to get overly nostalgic over little things.
