I've discussed this with a few people but my sister had me start watching RWBY a while back.
It's kind of my thing now.

Saaaame.
It's kinda not as good as I expected it to be but not crap still.
It feels like they're basically taking the random comments users made a while ago and are animating them.

The whole idea was to give some lighthearted silliness after Season 3's... well you know.

Well, true, but still, could have been more.
But I am mildly entertained by it.

That's the whole idea. It's dumb and fun and small. Give you something to sink your teeth into till October when best girl finally crushes the final embers of hope and destroys everything.

Well, no. At least not for a few episodes as they've gotta build up the time disparity.

Updated the first post. Remove the space in the URL, or search it, should get you there either way. Don't want a referral link coming from this URL basically.

Yeah, what did Palpatine ever do to anyone? He'd never even hurt a fly!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=318&v=AquvnEPKu3AIt's getting more interesting, but the framerate of the animation is a joke. And not a fun one.

So...context?
Who was that guy?
What did he try to accomplish?
Was he a Force user?
Was he important?

That scientist guy (He's called Cylo, and he has no Force powers, just genetic and cybernetic enhancements) was working for Palpatine, and was tasked to create transhuman agents that could replace Vader, with technological abilities that could equal or surpass the Force, since Vader had fallen out of Palpatine's favor with the Death Star's destruction. Palpatine wanted Vader and these potential replacements to fight each other until one was left standing, to prove who was stronger. Vader killed them all, of course, and got back into his former position. Later, Cylo went rogue and tried to take over the Empire. Vader went to kill him, but the scientist revealed that he was one of the doctors who worked on Vader's reconstruction after Mustafar, and had made a kill switch for his life-substaining cybernetics. Vader is able to power through this since he's a badass and Cylo keeps underestimating the Force.
The whole point of this Vader series is to detail how Vader atoned for his failure to defend the Death Star, became the official Supreme Commander of the Imperial war machine we see him as in Empire Strikes Back (since before then he existed outside of the official Imperial chain of command and let Tarkin be the head of the military), as well as show how Vader first discovered that Luke was his son and that Palpatine lied to him, setting in motion his ambition to find Luke and use him to overthrow Palpatine.

Not all Soundwaves are superior. Looking at you, Bay-Wave. You pale before your G1 and Prime brothers.
