My usual order at Taco Bell has increased from $25 to $30.
Truly, this is the greatest ordeal any man has ever endured. Though I finished this full exterior today (yesterday technically) and got a tip, so eh. November is nearly here, doesn't even feel like autumn is half over, really. Any of you doing anything special? Guess you Europeans aren't doing Thanksgiving, but even over here, everyone's trimming the fat already, doubt we'll be doing big family gatherings even for Christmas.

well we danes celebrate something similar to thanksgiving called Mortens aften but it is on the 11th instead of the the 24th, we generally eat geese instead of turkey and it is to celebrate a saint instead of being thankful for stuff.

No Thanksgiving in the UK (gee I wonder why?!?!?
But we have Bonfire Night coming up on the 5th, the holiday we celebrate a Spaniard almost blowing up Parliament by using explosives (fireworks) and burning effigies of him, with big ol' fires.
Then it's nothing until Christmas.
Luckily with my diet Christmas was already going to be limited anyway.

Burning effigies, cooking goose, expensive taco bell... wow there's a lot to look forward to coming up.
I'm having thanksgiving early because my folks will be driving through town for medical checkups and I can't make it to see them on the proper holiday in time because I'll be leaving for India. It'll be a simple little feast. I've plenty to be thankful for.
Ehhh, I haven't been on the dating site lately because no one has been writing back. There's been no communication, no back and forth, no real indication of any interest. Just me continuously wracking my brain for 20 minutes writing something poignant and genuine to each of my matches only to hear absolutely nothing back. It's frustrating. I'm tempted to write something insulting just to see if a live person is on the other end. (Funny story, I actually did that once and she was the only response I ever got back from someone on a dating site). I take that back, it actually isn't funny. Nor is Match.com's refund policy. I'll be getting my money's worth for 6 months of no responses.
I'll change my profile up, chances are I'm doing something wrong.
Anyone going to see the Quintessential Quintuplets movie coming to theaters soon? I know Europe has some showings coming up and the US is early December. I'll miss it because I'll be in India.

from what I understand there are more men on dating apps and sites then there are women so they have the pick of whoever they want and women of today are really picky.
so finding anyone to date is hard especially on online dating.

Always wanted to try goose. Heard it's dark and very fatty, which sounds great after a lifetime of eating overcooked turkey. Though we haven't had a family Thanksgiving in several years, as no one's wanted to host it, and grandma's way too old for it now. Which saint?

Ah, India. Uh, don't drink any water that isn't bottled and sealed. Or eat anything. Heh. An old friend of mine is Indian, when he's gone back there (born here) for family stuff, he expected to feel a kind of kinship/blood memory. Sadly didn't, and got horribly sick as he adjusted to the new bacteria over there. But it sounds like an adventure, especially with a good attitude!

I was browsing the normie sphere on dating stuff, just for the sake of it. It was weird. The advice for any guy was, in effect, "gym, current fashion, current music, get a hobby with a lot of girls but pretend you're not there to meet them, and you'll need to try a few dozens times." But the people giving the advice were invariably single, or at least not married with kids.
So being insulting, or more accurately, being _bold_, might legit work. If every other guy is putting on a clown show to fit into an archetype, hey, being bluntly honest might be the kind of masculine novelty that'll get you somewhere. Though I wouldn't ever tell someone to listen to me for dating advice. It does seem perverse that a wholesome, sunny guy like you has to go through the numbers game and such to find genuine romance, while I then read accounts of awful, gross sleazeballs who somehow are perpetually in and out of relationships. Given we're so similar, I suspect it's something innate to how we project ourselves.

Did you never see V for Vendetta?
The mask V uses/the now "Anonymous Mask" was a Guy Fawkes mask.
Guy Fawkes was the guy who headed the Gunpowder Plot to blow up Parliament.
"Remember, Remember, the 5th of November,
The Gunpowder, Treason and Plot.
I can think of no reason, why the Gunpowder Treason,
Should ever be forgot."
Buy as for the effigies, it was/is an older tradition where kids would make little straw Guy Fawkes', take them round and ask "Penny for the guy?" and collect money that way. For sweets/whatever they wanted.
Sadly in this age of Technology that's dying off and we just like the fireworks and fires.
I mean, yeah I was misleading when I said explosions, as it was fireworks, lol.

Martin of Tours also known as Saint Morten or at least that is what we call him (it's called Morten's aften for a reason, because it translate to evening of Morten or at least I think that is the translation).

Goose is great. I'm a big fan of making it myself. The fat is in the skin, as opposed to inside the meat like a marbled steak. Dark meat all around. Just know it's a flying fowl, not a loafing around fowl, so it has much for wings and a thin breast.

Ahh, okay. I thought it was Fawkes, though I haven't seen the movie, I know the gist of what happened. The effigy/explosion bit is what threw me for a loop, ole' chap. Bit like saying the 4th of July is the day we drunkenly point Chinese gunpowder tubes at each other to honor some weirdo libertarians winning a farmer war. Heh.

Teferi was always one of those planeswalkers I thought I should like more than I did, but he had so little lore at the time, and Mirage was old enough I couldn't afford the booster packs my local game shop had.
Heh. Fatal Frame as a series can be summed up as, "Cute girls in cute dresses wander haunted abandoned Japanese village where a Shinto ritual got fucked up."

I watched Gordon Ramsay make one, saved the rendered fat, it sold me on the bird. Soon as I'm cooking for only myself, assuming I'm not homeless, I'll have to try it.

Yeah, the sites actually pay women to join to even up the count. Today is nothing like the past. There are so many more options open for women currently. Had a bad date at 5pm? Well, find a new date on an app for 8pm.
Just more fuel for the self improvement engine, that's how I want to look at it.

I've read so much like that, about dating and pickup, in the past that I got sick of it. Spent the previous few years trying to unlearn it. How did I have more success before learning all that and have such abysmal success afterwards? But still, knowing current trends is kind of important for meeting new people and the gym is always a buff so there is some merit to their advice.

I always preferred the old "Day of the Dragon era" lore when Deathwing was his own independent evil, especially when at the time every other baddie in the setting was, without fail, linked directly or indirectly to either the Burning Legion or the Old Gods. It helped make him unique, and an interesting counterweight to the other malevolent factions. And then they went ahead and made Deathwing be corrupted by the Old Gods anyway.

To be honest, never knew it any other way. I wasn't big on the lore before World of Warcraft launched. And I think it's okay, they are obviously going somewhere with the story.

It's a stock-standard archetype. But guys who fully emulate it aren't finding happiness, and neither are women, so what good is it then? It's like learning mountaineering in order to scale Everest so you can touch snow. Always figured I'd have an easy time of it if I ever felt the urge to date, and it's very concerning I haven't felt that urge since my early 20s. No idea what draws or repels people, women specifically, from me, but I've had success and failure, and learned nothing from it, heh.

I read the old WoW novel with Rhonin and his Windrunner waifu about Deathwing, and I'm fairly sure even then, in those early days of WoW lore, they mentioned the Old Gods corrupted him, unless I'm totally misremembering the story.
But yes, same with 40k, *everything* being ultimately derived from a few SUPER EVILs takes the gravitas away from it all.

Behind literally everything, ever. Though to be charitable, I interpreted it more as he threw a handful of cosmic die, and rolled with the punches. There was no specific plan for anything, so much as making use of what happened.

Still a total asspull by the Blizzard writers to make their shitty final boss of the shittiest WoW expansion important. ^^

During Day of the Dragon’s release, back in 2001, the only things we knew about the Old Gods was from W3's instruction booklet, and it said that they were evil, they subjugated the Elemental Lords, and way back when the Titans showed up in ancient Azeroth, they got beaten and imprisoned. I have the Warcraft RPG: Shadows & Light sourcebook which came out in 2004, which details a lot of lore surrounding the major characters in the setting, and Deathwing’s bio makes no mention of the Old Gods; he was still his own independent evil at that time. It wasn’t until the War of the Ancients book trilogy that it was established that the Old Gods were responsible for his turn. Before that it was just “he once was good, then he went mad and betrayed us, now he’s a genocidal and tyrannical dragon supremacist who hates mortals” who caused trouble in the world outside of the schemes of anyone or anything else. Deathwing used to be about making the world “perfect” by wiping out all the mortals who have “ruined it” so only dragons --dragons who shared his viewpoint and untainted by compassion to mortals to be more specific-- can have it rather than helping the Old Gods return and bringing about the Hour of Twilight.

I just liked the idea that Deathwing was a threat that was actually native to Azeroth, who fell from grace thanks to his own choices rather than from interference/influence from an outside force, in a setting that was oversaturated with villains were either puppets of or had some connection with one of two evil extra-dimensional factions. (I mean, in Azeroth’s entire history how many villains didn’t have the Burning Legion or the Old Gods play at least some role in their turn to evil or madness, however small or indirectly? Precious few. Deathwing used to be among that tiny number, and was all the more special for it because of his power and important place in the lore, being a Dragon Aspect.) Its not a dealbreaker for me or anything, just a preference. It doesn’t piss me off, unlike the Jailer and his nonsense. You'll get no argument from me on that front; I agree with you on that 100%.

Any artists here that can make a graphic for me? I'm looking for a background for my Synthwave music demo so I can pitch it to music libraries. My general brand is game and anime music, but I need this to break into the industry.
Synthwave is associated with 80's retro. Neon wireframe on a digital horizon with a setting sun, purple and orange, that kind of stuff.
