Playing Persona 5 Royale on the Peesee. Went in wanting to romance Kasumi, maybe Makoto. Kasumi's a sweetheart, but I'm 90% sure there's something weird going on with her, and her link maxes out at 5, so I don't know when that's supposed to open up given the intro segment. Makoto's grown on me over time, in the "I want to break her composed attitude with my dick" way, but the requirements to even talk to her are higher than I remembered. Max charm for rank 5 (of 10) is rough, and I'm at the Hawaii trip, so I suppose I won't get her sequence there. Got Kawakami to 9, was tempted to romance her again, since she's my favorite, so I think she'll show up.
The rest, my taste for them has changed a bit. Really liked Futaba the last time I played, now, seeing her way more as a sister figure, less a waifu option. Like Akechi more, though he was redone for Royale. Ryuji being a loudmouth idiot is still obnoxious, but less so. Ann, never really liked her, but like her a bit more. Yusuke I appreciate way more. Sojiro, way better than Dojima. Morgana, not forcing Ren to bed early half the nights, is better, but the "useless" subplot about to explode is silly. The Doc is great, Ohya is attractive, but there's nothing there, and Hifumi is a solid character, but so disconnected from everything it's hard to make the time.
Gun-guy is great, No-Good Tora is pretty good, Maruki I'm getting some weird vibes off, but his schtick is alright so far. The twin loli wardens thing is...weird. I'm not sure how I'm supposed to be taking them, unlike Elizabeth and the girl from P3, where it was much more clear (Elizabeth was great). Otherwise the plot still suffers from needlessly long "I'M WORRIED BUT ALL WE CAN DO IS WAIT BUT LETS EVERYONE SAY THAT OVER AND OVER EVERY OTHER DAY" bits. I know where this going, so no mystery makes the padding more painful.
