So...
Much like Fall of Cadia, the whole plotline seems intriguing, but should not be cliffnoted and crammed into a small rulebook.

Bill Paxton's death is not something I wanted to wake up to today.

Same. First time I heard the "Game over, man. Game over" was in a video game, though.

He played my favorite character in one of my favorite movies.

3 hours isnt perfect, but i can deal with it.
If i ever actually needed it to run for longer than that in handheld mode (like a plane ride to Tokyo or whatever), i probably would just buy a battery pack.
That auto save is pretty sweet though.

Well, GW confirmed SEVERAL times that there's no End-Times Scenario coming to 40k: in fact these books are more likely just being farted out so quickly because of the new edition of the game that should come either later this year, or early the next one. My guess is that they ARE gonna do a soft reboot, and that is why thei're shaking up the status quo so fast and so massively, but that they're not going to destroy the whole universe and start anew.

Vol wanted you guys to know he's in the hospital. Something to do with his heart and lungs, apparently. He's a young-ish guy so it might be something as innocuous as a panic attack, but still the Shepard of this particular flock could use a couple prayers if you have a moment.

Re: Tali'Thread vas Clan Zorah nar BSN 6.0
I'm alive, thankfully. First panic attack of my life, scariest fucking moment of it too. Felt like I was literally dying. Throat swollen, arms leaden and tingling, muscles randomly contracting, heart racing, every breath felt like the last.
I have no idea what set it off, as I was in a fairly relaxed moment, which contributed to the spiral. Heart failure and a collapsed lung were my immediate thoughts, while I was making my peace with my creator on the way to the ER. Doc also found a "right ventricular conduction delay," and recommended a cardiologist.
So I guess what happened is that all the shit in my head was building up, and it chose tonight to topple over on me. I fear the bill that will come, but I'm glad beyond words this wasn't the end. And of course, thank you all for the concern. I wanted Lance to let you guys know, just in case. But for now, I endure.
Thank you, guys.

Oh shit, man. That sounds terrifying.
I'm glad you're alright. May you make full recovery will all haste. And you should totally make an appointment with a cardiologist when time and money allows. My father's a cardiologist so I know for a fact its always better to be safe than sorry in these matters.

Thank you, guys, all of you. It means a lot to me, believe it. I'd respond more in depth, but I have nothing left in me right now. Raw. Frayed.
But that old traitor of men didn't get his fingers around me this time, so I'm content. Goodnight.

That's the last thing he needs. Excercise reduces stress and helps prevent panic attacks.

I was thinking until he gets cleared by the cardiologist. Don't want him blowing a valve mid push and suddenly needing some asshole with a knife to relieve pressure from the blood filling the chest cavity.

Sometimes...Sometimes I really dislike the fact that Minnesota is the only state that requires a degree in Criminal Justice to become a police officer.

TBH that sounds like something that should be mandatory.
Mind you that opens up the doors of other underlying problems in the US, Education, Gun Reform, Trust Issues, Race relations, etc.
But having cops that are actually intelligent and trained in their field would be a good start.
As much as living in my country has made me more trusting of my police force, if I were living in America I would honestly find it remiss that I would be exempt from the Second Amendment as I hear the same cops which are armed don't do nearly enough training/practice with it to be trustworthy, on top of all the other misgivings.

I was lamenting that we're the ONLY state that does the thing with education. Everyone else is just go on in to the Police Academy.

Yeah, I'd love if a law enforcer had more differences between the two of us than just a pistol, handcuffs, radio and a taser.
Sad thing is that a couple of years ago, I was earning more money per month trucking mail around than the average police officer did.

Why does that matter? Why is there a perception that someone's income must depend on their perceived importance to society? You find a job that pays you more then someone else, I say good find. If income doesn't matter to you then find something that makes you happy.

well if you are putting your life on the line for other people, which police, fireman and such do, you should probably have a pretty good pay check at the end.

But good is relative. $30,000 a year in Texas is different then $30,000 a year in CA. If a cop/fireman makes $23.17 an hour but a clarinet player makes $23.18 an hour does the cop get the crappy deal?
I just don't understand the whole argument about pay and how the public opinion determines how much someone should get paid.
How much is enough for the job? And also how many people feel they should be making more money then they do? Because it's more then cops, firemen or first responders combined that think they deserve more.

It's not about comparing them to other jobs, it's about comparing the weight of their own job to the rewards they should get.
Now obviously this is assuming the officer in question is as good as we'd expect an officer to be. If they meet that standard then they honestly will be doing their job to the utmost of their ability. And their job is a dangerous one.
When are you going to meet a clarinet player who has to take on an armed robbery or a high speed pursuit?
Hell, most sports players that are in the public light make waaaaaaaaaay more than they should.
Football players over here make ridiculous amounts of money.
It's stupid.

See that's where military spending should go, to the soldiers, their care and aftercare.
At least a bit more than already does.
