I don't shave, because the sensation of putting anything so that it touches the behind of my jawbone is repulsive to say the least.
Nah, trimmer works just fine for me.

Nothing like shaving with a straight-blade razor.

Still trying to get my smog check passed. I have a pro driving my car now through driving cycles while I'm at work. 550+ miles I've put on it and still the one 'oxygen heat sensor' will not turn on. I've suggested having them unplug the battery and starting the entire process all over again as a last resort. Don't know what options I have left. I need my car registered.

Re: Tali'Thread vas Clan Zorah nar BSN 6.0
On the topic of dieting a thought occurred to me. I'm in the middle of my own dieting phase where I'm trying to lose 20 lbs then 10 more after that and to achieve that I have been strictly limiting my diet. So I've been eating around 1700-1800 calories a day. The thought was this, eventually the caloric intake I use to lose weight will no longer work once I hit a certain weight since the ratio changes as I drop weight. So 1800 cals a day will make me lose weight at 183 lbs but won't at 163 lbs. In order to lose weight I'll either have to adjust my diet again, or start exercising. There may be a point where I won't be able to diet my weight loss unless I eat ~1000 cals a day, which for me would be extremely difficult and contrary to my life goals. So my original goal of just dieting may not work further in the future, unless I start to fast.
So I may have to start exercising to get the same results as I did in the past which was done solely by dieting. I guess what learned from all that is that the only constant in losing weight is adjustments.

Just a sugggestion, but if people here are trying to lose weight and get into shape, would anyone else be interested in starting a thread? We can report our daily caloric intakes, exercises we did. It would keep us honest, and we could encourage one another when we lapse.
You know, like a fitness thread.

Ill say it again. Splitting up in to a bunch of separate tiny threads is a bad idea.
UNLESS these people actually think such a thread would be helpful to them.

If you want to post what you're eating every day, how much, and your weight and your weight goals are, ect, you can do it here.
If I do it however, it will be in a dedicated thread, unless Vol specifically demands I do otherwise.

I like keeping it in the main thread, because all who contribute add their view points and progress and all who want to add their own comments can and then it only lasts a couple of posts until it's brought up again after a few weeks.

Use your own weight system, or your own form of numbers pig latin. Like today I weigh 34 kittens.

Except what I'm suggesting is posting daily progress from anyone involved, so it wouldn't be every few weeks. It would be daily.
I swear I honestly feel like no one reads anything I write except the last sentence or so.

What I was suggesting wasn't going to be a conversation. I'm fine with keeping general talk in the general thread.
And really, there are better places to go for that sort of thing. It was a poor suggestion on my part.

We know you are.
I still think you went completely overboard on something inconsequential.
A fitness thread would be a grand idea, Rip.
Re: Tali'Thread vas Clan Zorah nar BSN 6.0
Personally I don't think a fitness thread would "help".
I don't wanna be having to go into a thread where I know everyone is fitter than me doing fitness shite and talking about healthy shite and all that jazz.
It doesn't help to compare and contrast and when the few I know who would be dedicated to using it I'd feel somewhat unwelcome as there would definitely be a difference in scale.
On other subjects it kinda doesn't matter as much but right now it's just a case of I'd never use the resource because it'd make me compare and contrast. As of present other conversations intermingle and distract from that.

*Sigh.*
You know, now that I'm thinking about it, I think I'm ready to move on from this place. Clan Z, in all its forms, was home for years. The one saving grace has been Dragaros and his posting of media and stuff, but I could get that in other places. I certainly haven't stayed for the air of positivity or sense of kinship or friendship or whatever.
I'm not angry or upset or anything, which I know someone will interpret this as. It's just kind of a quiet, calm realization. I think at this point I like the idea of this community far more than I actually like any aspect of it. It was nice while it lasted, but I don't think I'll be coming back.
So, you know. Goodbye.

That's not a happy thing to read. But it's your choice, and I'll miss your presence dearly. You, of course, are always welcome to come back, or to lurk, PM, or otherwise use the site however you wish. It has been a considerable number of years, but I can hardly demand people participate if they no longer wish. The lights will be until I'm the last one left.
My Steam/PM accounts are open if you wish to chat of course. Wander will, pilgrim.

Re: Tali'Thread vas Clan Zorah nar BSN 6.0
TBH we'd do a lot better as a Teamspeak or a Discord or something like that.
More fluid and relaxed, less format heavy but still able to be structured.

Re: Tali'Thread vas Clan Zorah nar BSN 6.0
I figured our specific kind of (small) community would work better as a forum, since Discord is so messy and hard to have involved conversations.
But if you guys thought it'd be well used, I could try to embed one in the site itself, so we could have the utility of a forum and the rapid pace of a chat.

I do like Kraken for a rum and Coke, though it's been a while. Cheap too.
But rum makes me a dirty drunk. The sugar does it. Whiskey is a calmer, beer makes me energized.

It's equilibrium. Your body constantly moves towards it. Whatever your basal metabolic rate, if you eat less than it, you lose weight, until you reach the new equilibrium. Cardio, while good for you, doesn't move the needle much. Weightlifting does, depending on how hard you go. But slowly reducing your diet by, say, sets of 100 calories until your BMR is at your desired weight is much easier.

The way I see it there's two types of people, those who spend their lives trying to build a future and those who spend their lives trying to rebuild the past.
Whiskey makes me think I can do both.
Whiskey makes me think I can do both.
Re: Tali'Thread vas Clan Zorah nar BSN 6.0
Whiskey, for me, is like taking the Sword of Damocles and blunting it for a brief time. Even if it falls, only a bruise. Booze in general doesn't make me crazy, or manic. It's more like loosening a garrote.
So yeah. You best stay away from the devil's mouthwash.

I have more typing to do for class and studying to do for an exam tomorrow...but I am having a beer before I go to bed tonight.
Friday I'm getting sloshed at a Buffalo Wild Wings with a friend. Probably make bad decisions. Then Saturday I'm going home for a few days, so Theo may get some peace while I'm gone.
