"The Maker unleashes his grand design, a plan as demented and over-arching as anything Doctor Doom has ever attempted! And now, Doom is all that stands in his way! But Doom always loses to Reed Richards, right? So what are the chances that he can pull off a victory this time?"

This season of Archer is kinda hit and miss for me so far. Some parts are great, other parts not so much.

The payoff for Krieger's subplot tonight was funny, and now we have Barry ready to rejoin the fray.

And let's not forget that this really is just another version of Peter Parker, albeit with much worse life experiences.

Yeah... didn't really need to bring back Ben Reilly, and just make it a dick too. Especially after they spent years to actually give a character arc to Kaine, the former evil and deformed clone. But hey, I guess it's the same mindset that led to undoing Agent Venom. Yay...

Vegeta, Piccolo, Gohan, Crilin...

Super is doing a strange 180 on Goku and make everyone around him decent human/sayan beings while he's the potatohead that only want to punch strong guys.

And it's really actually interesting, because I have not a damn clue where they're gonna go with it. Well, assuming this isn't all just to explain why he's gonna eventually leave everyone behind just to spend 10 years training with Uub. But I get the feeling Super is just gonna pretend GT didn't happen and push past the end of Z anyway.

Well its not really a 180 at all.

In the original Japanese manga and show, Goku was always like this. Its the dubs that tried to portray him as heroic.

Yeah it pretty much is completely ignoring GT.
We've gotten the "it's another universe/alternate version of time" reason I think as the Xenoverse games are kinda also technically a little bit canon too...

It's weird.

Honestly they've kinda wasted an opportunity with the multiverse tournament thing. They might have had the GT folks having a cameo and enstablish that thei're just from an alternative timeline, instead of pretending that all the series are still in-canon with each other.

Super has been fantastic for Vegeta's character. A lot of characters, actually, but Vegeta in particular.

Alienmorph wrote:And it's really actually interesting, because I have not a damn clue where they're gonna go with it.

I think its going to end with Goku becoming the new God of Destruction of Universe 7 after finishing his training with Uub. Vegeta cares about his family too much to abandon them entirely. Uub will take over Goku's place, and Goku will ascend to the rank of the Destroyer Gods, where he can eat and train and challenge strong fighters all he wants for eternity. I'd wager Beerus and Goku will have a rematch at the very end of the show, Goku will win, Beerus will retire to Earth, and Whis will elevate Goku to godhood.

Super and GT can't exist on the same timeline due to a multitude of continuity problems, among other reasons, but it does seem like they’re treating GT as an alternate timeline similar to what Future Trunks’s timeline was in Dragon Ball media (the video games in particular). In that timeline Beerus & Whis never visted Earth, Super Saiyan God/Blue power was never discovered, Gohan never reawakened his Mystic power, East Supreme Kai and Kabito never defused, Zamasu never went rogue, no one became aware of the Super Dragon Balls, etc. They could theoretically travel to it, but Bulma would have to tinker with her time machine plans, and Beerus has already forbidden her from building any more because it’s a cosmic law that mortals shouldn’t mess with time. So those that liked GT can still have it be acknowledged, and those who didn’t like it can be happy in the knowledge it’s a divergent path off the main story. GT was never really canon to begin with--it wasn't based off a manga made by Akira Toriyama, and in DB canon the manga is always king (Hell, there's already differences between the Super manga and the Super anime, and the manga takes precedence in story/lore/character matters via Word of God unless otherwise specified)--but this seems like a nice compromise to make both camps happy. And as its been noted numerous times, Toriyama isn't afraid to write by the seat of his pants nor change previously established things nor reference and allude to things outside of his own work. Our new Broly-inspired female saiyan is proof of that. I wouldn't be shocked if we get more direct references to GT in the future.

Guddamnit, Marvel! Stop fucking up my favorite characters!

Boy am I glad we have the MCU, because the comics side of things over the last few years have been infuriating...

Not to mention that every "return to the Cancerverse" plotline is based on a giant plothole caused by writer Brian Bendis' refusal to go read the (actually not that many) stories that brought in the big cosmic characters resurgence of a few years ago.

I regard everything from the start of the spirit world convergence as shit...except maybe bits of the the last season when the other war started. I just could not believe how weak they went after the first season. I mean I would have thought more people would have joined the equalizer movement, specially so since I could see a class divide between the elemental benders and those who were not.

The only time I really thought anything in that show was worth a damn was the small segment where Korra is hanging out in the swamp with Toph. I also did like the character of Tenzin.

Trying to navigate the confusing waters of how to watch Evangelion Neon Genesis. Found three cheap DVDs for ep 1-11, english subtitles that plays in the US region. I've heard about the show for quite a while now and want to see what it's all about. Also heard that some episodes need to be watched with the director's cut, I think 21-26? Then it's the movies after that, 'End of Evangelion' I think then 'Rebirth'? Anyway, so many choices of how to watch it, I figured I can gamble with $20 for the first few. I'm kind of hyped to watch it.

OhGod... I feel so sorry for you just now. Evangelion is the thing that almost made quit anime completely. You're in for a bumpy ride of whathefuckery. To put it gently.

Anyway, the original series is 26 episodes, plus End of Evangelion. The Rebuild of Evangelion is a series of movies that reboots the whole thing, has some better animation, adds one or two new characters and fiddles with the plot abit. It is yet incomplete, but apparently now that NGE's creator Hideaki Anno has done buttfucking Godzilla he went back and started working on the new and last movie in the reboot series.

So I guess that, for now, if you want a complete story the original version is the one to pursue.

I think I really desire to have the bumpy ride of whatthefuckery. I've been slowly coming to terms with my masochistic nature and I kind of want the torture, which I think explains a lot about my life...Damn.

Anyway, is it worth it to see the reboot movies?
