So, I have not really been following news of PoED very closely because the first game was only okay (preachy plot, mostly boring companions, quite obnoxious combat compared to Infinity Engine games), but I just looked up a bunch of stuff and apparently, the combat system is overhauled so that some of the more arbitrary obnoxious things are gone, multi-classing is now a thing so their stupid stinginess with attribute points is less of a problem, and it's heavily implied the game has romances.

So all in all, I am now officially excited about this game.

I've been playing my first solo legendary run of a Halo game, 5, and spent 4.5 hours on Saturday on ONE mission, The Breaking. I died 177 times, but I killed all three of those god damn Wardens. Ugh! One more mission to go and then it's off to Senran Kagura Peach Beach Splash!!! It's not quite the same as Halo, but a well deserved change.

Last big update has been months ago. Every major update has added alot of stuff, and it's significantly better than it was at launch. Now it has base-building, spaceship-building, quests, land vehicles (based on the Mass Effect ones no less, due to some ME:A cross-promotion) and there's in general alot more to do. It's not as amazing and mind-blowing as all the hype built it up to be, but it got significantly better. Still not worth full price, but I might buy it myself one of the next times it gets discounted on Steam.

There's much better space-survival titles around, tho. Subnautica is probably the best one currently around, and I've also bought and been following the development of one called Osiris: New Dawn, which is kind of like Ark Survival Evolved meets The Martian, but it's still in fairly early development.

Astroneer is also a pretty good survival game on Steam. It gets updated frequently, like last Thursday and you can play it in co-op. It has one of those systems that allows you to dig however you want in the environment. Once you get enough resources, you can build a rocket and take off to another planet that has a completely different biome. You get schematics for different machines (you 3D print all the machines you need) by finding different artifacts in cave systems.

I think I saw a Let's Play on that one. It looks cartoony and the ray gun just makes the ground disappear? I'm barley figuring out steam, maybe I'll check out one of these first.

Astroneer seems fun too, but admidettly I haven't tried it myself. It is also very early in development, just in case you're not into following early access titles as they are completed overtime.

MGS5: Got stymied by the end of the Honeybee mission. I know what to do now, but being punished for taking my time and playing as I do is frustrating. Like to take my time, explore a bit, take down everyone I need to, move bodies around (Had 5 corpses in a side room in that cave, some asshole I never noticed decides to patrol it), enjoy the moment before the murder. But unlisted game timers wait for no man, and boy do I not like those.

Astroneer is pretty neat! The ground doesn't disappear, it can be stored in containers, which is useful for digging up areas, then using it to build bridges or sifting through it for rare elements. Right now it's sort of sandbox where you mostly explore and find neat stuff, making bigger and better bases so you can explore and find more neat stuff.

One day, when it's feature complete (AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA) it'll be great!

Speaking of TFS, I'm following their DnD campaign on Twitch and my throat is rather sore after all that laughing. Might be because I think I'm coming down with another cold, but it's still thoroughly entertaining.

Makes me want to try DnD, but I haven't found people to play with. That and I think I'm biting off a little more than I can chew at the moment.

well we did try to make something like that happen in the group, but for some reason it never did.

No-one replied to messages and no-one could find the time.
Plus we couldn't find a DM at the time as our only candidate was up in the air at the time.

MyProtein isn't the best company to get protein powder and related stuff from, but when I can stack 4 coupons and get 50% off a big order, I have to like them for it. Makes a decent supplement to Optimum's powder to finish out the day's macros, and their peanut butter is pretty good.

Winter's really backloaded this year. Spring, and we have over a half foot of snow today, maybe more tomorrow. Meanwhile summer last for-fucking ever. It's nice to see some white powder, calming, like rain, or thunder.

I got a surprising amount of snow today as well. We had some warm days in the last parts of February, but March got cold again, and today was a winter wonderland outside.

When the groundhog predicted 6 more weeks of winter, it wasn't lying. :lol:

I can't take bad summers, not when I don't control the AC. I get mean when it's 82 degrees+ and all I have is a room fan.

That groundhog is the wisest of us all, truly. Probably going to have to haul my ass out of bed early tomorrow (today) to clean out the steps and driveway for the second time, and tonight (yesterday) was deadlifts, so I'm gonna feel it.

My place is hitting that time of the year when the weather can't decide if it wants to be warm or cold during the day, so it does both. Warm enough to make me sweat on my way to work and then it drops right down into the negative on my way back. Snow's slowly melting away, though. I'm surprised that I haven't gotten sick from it like I usually do.

Also, I'm so glad that I have a Switch for the hot summer days when staying inside with barely working ventilation is a nightmare. If the insects could fuck off too, then I'd be golden.
