Um, that gigantic spending bill actually had some of the most generous provisions for the military in a long time. It included pay raises which has been stagnant for several years now. It also included enough funding that the military is actually able to recruit more people and buy a bunch of equipment that they needed but previously couldn't afford.

So the idle thought: External to the gay community, looking overall at "gay rights," there was a general routing of conservatives and triumph of liberal thought. However, *within* the gay community, the conservatives totally won and made respectable things like "gay marriage" and "adoption by gay couples" point and center of the movement and the more liberal side focused in like gay bathhouses and such lost most of its legitimacy, such as it was. Even the spectacle of the gay pride parade, which was just out and out circus of licentiousness in 1980 or so has transformed into this generally staid affairs that people even bring their kids to.

That would be because the liberal side was wiped out by AIDS. The successful, popular men were out partying and fucking, and so they caught the virus and spread it fast. This is why "gay culture" has been relatively stagnant, as the thought leaders died, and the lesser libertines took over their roles. And then the conservative men would have been relatively safe and able to now take power. And then time marched on, the "agenda" was set, and here we are.

He may be a hypocrite but he's right about Amazon, they're one of the scummiest companies in the US, treat their workers like shit and will do literally anything to squeeze out a few extra bucks. They crush local economies, most of their employees are on food stamps, their drivers have to piss in bottles to keep to the strict time schedules, they have workers wear Orwellian vibrating wrist bands that track their activities in real-time and vibrate when they aren't working quick enough, and Jeff Bezos their CEO threatens journalists that expose the shitty conditions of his company and for some reason he's on a Pentagon defense board.

Considering that my retirement funds are also getting slapped around by this douchenozzle whenever his shit makes the stock market dip, I have a vested interest in all of it. I'd like to retire some day, or at least not live in poverty.

Here is a picture of the stock market from 1900 a little after 2010. It has peaks and valleys. It has consistently gone up for around 100 years.

This includes WW1, the Great Depression, The Dust Bowl, WW2, Korean War, the entirety of the Cold War, Vietnam, The Civil Rights movement, the Nixon Administration, Reagan Administration, the Bush administration, The Gulf War, the Clinton administration, the .com crash, the other Bush administration, the Obama administration, and possibly a bit of Donald Trump., and isn't even taking into account the recent gains and losses.

The stock market is a long game. It tends to go up. It would take a disaster of apocalyptic proportions (I.E. Bigger than all of the above mentioned) to change this.
