Also, I still don't beleive it. EA's still making the thing, so there has to be a catch.
And if there isn't, the game is still being made by EA's b-teams, instead than by Visceral like it should have been, and probably its story has been written or at least approved by the chucklefucks of the SW Writers Room. And it's likely being rushed out of the gate to come out neaer Star Wars IX's release.
There's a below zero chance it'll be any good.

I disagree.
The pattern EA follows has been very consistent for a long time. They make shitty games, they screw over customers, they lose all good will, and then they go on the EA Good-Will Tour.
We are about due for EA trying to win back the player base. We'll get maybe 6 months to 8 months of them not being shitty, and then they'll go right back to old habits.

Im not saying you should buy it. I dont really plan to.
Im just saying its probably legit. They have fucked up SO much lately SO many times in a row, they are going to try to regain confidence.

Re: Tali'Thread vas Clan Zorah nar BSN 6.0
I know, I know. I see your point. But even if that's the case... it's a game that started out a singleplayer story, everyone working on it was "let go", then the game's assetts were repurposed to try make another Live Service game out of them, then both Disney and EA probably decided to take a step back and try to get some goodwill back. All things considered, the iteraction of the game that's getting released probably only got less than year of actual development time.
And again... the story of said game must have been at least approved, if not written, by the Star Wars writers room, wich is a circus of idiots that includes/included chucklefucks like Chuck Wendig, a guy so stupid that just the other day he was complaining on Twitter that Lord of the Rings it's overrated because it has too much world building and no gay characters in it. Seriously.
So again... even if they are indeed trying to bait customers back by making a true singleplayer title, the odds it's anything good are abysmally low.

Depends, the writing in the comics, tv and book departments of SW, have generally been good overall, only the movies and games have generally "sucked" as it were.

[[ "Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will feature an authentic story set shortly after the events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, when the Jedi have fallen. Fans will play as a young Padawan named Cal Kestis, brought to life by Cameron Monaghan (Shameless, Gotham), who has survived Order 66, the Emperor’s secret decree to eliminate all Jedi. Players must pick up the pieces of Cal’s shattered past to complete his training and master the art of the iconic lightsaber—all while staying one step ahead of the Empire and its deadly Inquisitors.
Players will meet Cal on Bracca, a brand-new Star Wars planet and one of several new locations introduced in the game. Cal is hiding from the Empire in plain sight but is forced to go on the run when he exposes his Force powers. Along the way, Cal will make new friends, like his mysterious companion Cere, as well as run into some familiar faces, all while being accompanied by his faithful droid BD-1. Cal’s flight from the Empire is made even more dangerous as he is being pursued by the Second Sister, one of the Empire’s elite Inquisitors, who seeks to hunt Cal down and extinguish this surviving Jedi. Assisting the Second Sister are the terrifying Purge Troopers, special Imperial forces trained to seek out Jedi and aid the Inquisitors in their dastardly work.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is designed with gameplay as a top priority in order to deliver the kind of intense Star Wars lightsaber battles that are seen in the films. Brought to life by Respawn, a studio known for high-quality games that are both visually beautiful and technically masterful, players will use their Jedi training to create different melee combinations with an innovative lightsaber combat system and Force abilities. Players will also use traversal and other platforming abilities to strategically overcome opponents and solve puzzles in their path across this galaxy-spanning adventure. Star Wars fans will recognize iconic locations, weapons, gear, and enemies, while also meeting a roster of fresh characters, locations, creatures, droids and adversaries new to Star Wars.
Stig Asmussen – Game Director, Respawn Entertainment: Many Star Wars fans, ourselves included, are really interested in the dark times, so we wanted to explore that mysterious, dangerous period. The team at Lucasfilm have been amazing collaborators, helping us explore and further develop this part of the timeline where the Empire is at the height of its power and any remaining Jedi are in hiding. Within this narrative, we’ve crafted a game with intense, yet thoughtful and fun melee combat using the lightsaber and Force powers, allowing anyone to fulfill their Jedi fantasy.”
Steve Blank – Director of Franchise Content and Strategy, Lucasfilm: When Respawn approached us with the idea for this game, we were immediately supportive. A single player, story-driven title in the Star Wars universe was exactly what we were looking for, and we know the fans have been eager for one, as well. Focusing on Cal stepping back into the shoes of a Jedi post Order 66 opens up a lot of gameplay opportunities and rich story threads to develop for this new character and his backstory.” ]]

You don't have to like it, but you shouldn't spread misinformation about it, either.
Visceral's Star Wars project was completely unrelated to what Respawn has been working on, and it was Respawn who stepped forward and pitched the game to the people who hold the Star Wars leash, not EA. Visceral has been shut down by EA, but their project hasn't actually been formally cancelled, they simply left it in the air while management is hopefully getting its head out of its ass.
This is a project Respawn started late in 2016, so they've actually had time to work on it, and I want to give them the benefit of the doubt because these are the people who actually listened to the criticisms they got from Titanfall and actively went out of their way to improve on in the sequel.
I think this game may be great, since the objective from day one was that this is supposed to be a story-driven, single-player game meant to hearken back to the good parts of the old Legends continuity. They said they wanted this to feel like Dark Forces and the other Kyle Katarn stories, which I sorely want to believe in. The trailer looks neat, but this is all pre-rendered.

It feels like the droid is the writers saying "we don't know how to write a compelling companion for our protagonist, so we'll have them be overly obedient instead."

Re: Tali'Thread vas Clan Zorah nar BSN 6.0
Honestly the biggest turn off for me, aside from the obvious EA skepticism, is it doesn't look like it is doing anything new or interesting with the Star Wars formula.
It seems as generic as Star Wars can get.
Which, I guess, is just how Star Wars works, as i still think the only really interesting story in Star Wars is KotOR 2. I want more stories that play with the idea of morality beyond black and white, and the inherent flaws in the Jedi and Sith mindsets.

I'm not trying to misinform anyone. But I can get things wrong, like anyone else. So actually thank you for correcting me on that.
I do remain skeptic for a number or reasons, but there was definately a bunch of stuff I've heard or remembered wrong so... my bad.

I'm seeing that reaction all over the place. For a game that was priding itself on its story and single-player experience, a lot of people are disappointed with just how same-old, same-old it looks. Familiar story beats, repeated concept, generic interchangeable Star Wars Protag #357… etc etc. The only thing going for it that seems to have been universally embraced by all sides is Second Sister.
Sadly, creative stagnation is something that plagues Star Wars products a lot. There's so much rich material just begging to be mined and explored, and all the potential get squandered time and time again far too often. They play it safe, rely on nostalgic pull, re-use what's come before over and over again just in different coats of proverbial paint.

Also new TOR expansion was announced. "Onslaught," due in September, free to subscribers. Visit Onderon and a new smuggler broken-planet area, plus a raid on Dxun, and a new event on Dantooine. Level 75 cap, Nautolons becomes a playable race, seems to be about moving on from the external threat of the last 2 expansions back to the Republic vs Empire war, might have some sort of betrayal mechanic.

Shes the only interesting thing in that trailer.
Hell, I'd rather play as her.
Preferably in a story that isn't just "OH I DO SO LOVE BEING EEEEVIIIIL!"

Last time they tried that we got the story mode of BattlEAfront 2. And even then, you play the "bad guy" for like a mission and a half.
But yeah, actually playing an Imperial Agent of any kind, at the time where they were in power and trying to maintain order in the galaxy, wheter the galaxy wants it or not, would be pretty interesting.
Hell, doesn't even even need to be a Jedi hunter thing. Just do something about an imperial officer going after space pirates and stuff. A "lesser evil" scenario where nobody is a goody two-shoes, but neither a mustache-twirling cartoon villain. The imperial times in SW would be a great setting for something like that.

What a wacky design dichotomy.
It appears GOATS is slowly losing its strangehold on professional Overwatch, thankfully. It's still the go-to for a lot of teams on most maps, but we're seeing more and more teams with DPS believe it or not, and variations thereof. My Gladiators had a good set with the Valiant tonight where they ran a Mei on defense and she put in some work. Widows are popping up, the occasional Torb even.

And another point worth mentioning: LET US PLAY AS SOME ALIENS! Not every Star Wars game needs a human protagonist!

It's good to know alot of artifacts have been salvaged from the place, and that nobody was in the building.
But it's still an irrepleceable piece of architecture that inspired art, literature and just people in general for centuries, that is burning and crumbling down.

From what I understand, the roof is gone. The spire is gone. The organ and a lot of other relics too big to move are gone, though some of the bigger ones did survive at least partially.
But it wasn't nearly as bad as people feared. Just look at that picture. You can see a lot survived, and the overall masonry held up. Turns out they really don't build them like they used to.
They also managed to save a lot of relics, including stuff that was stored in the spire that collapsed. A whole lot of the statues and sculptures on the roof were saved by sheer happenstance, as they had to be removed for the work (that caused the fire) to commence anyway.
It's still bad, but its kind of a miracle it wasn't worse. It can be fixed, but its going to take a looong time. I dont think they will truly know for some days yet though.

Cardio is pain. Have to get my cholesterol back down or start a statin, and fuck that. So less fat, less calories, start doing cardio, more olive oil, more oatmeal, more fish. 20 minutes of basic stuff feels like dying, calves are sore as shit from landing on the balls of my feet while jogging.
