The tiny obelysks are 3rd party objetive markers. I originally bought some cheapo 3d-printed necron buildings too, but I failed miserably to smooth them out, and they didn't even take paint all that well, so I scrapped them. More room for the actual minis, I guess. Also, on the raised area where the Cryptek is gonna go I added the tiny scarabs that come as extra in the Necron Warriors sprues. I know, they should be floating slightly above the ground, but the support for them were so tiny and flimsy I felt safer just gluing them on the base *shrugs*

Now I've assembled the bodies of the two Warriors I plan to put in the scene. Will do the arms separately, so the giant guns they hold don't get in the way of painting the body.

That looks freaking sweet!

While I thank you for the compliment, I have seen in person some Golden Daemon-awarded minis (last year during a big 'con) and compared to those it's like I'm a kid drawing with crayons.

But like those kids, I'm also having lots of fun with my hobby tho, so that's all that matters.

Started Star Wars Souls. Other than needing to redownload 5GB of files because it was crashing during the tutorial bit, it's remarkably a quality game. Started on Master, and I've died a few times to stupid mistakes, and the design inspiration is obvious. Really, the only complaint thus far is that Cere has such an unpleasant face that it takes me out of the emotional moments to look at those huge, unblinking eyes. But the alien variety during the scrap planet was, at least, fantastic, and lil' captain is a gem.

Welp... b.s. retcons konfirmed. Now Sindel was into Shao Khan and being an evil empress all along, she betrayed her original husband and world, and instead of committing suicide she was assassinated by Quan-Chi so she could be turned into one of his undead servants.

Truly, it was highly necessary.

Ugh... why you do this kind of crap MK11... I really want to like you...

No, but it's super complicated. There are so many moving parts, gears within gears constantly spinning and the speed at which they do. Now whenever I grind a gear I feel I should feel more bad than I already do.

Hello folks, I'm not massively buzzed for the new pokemon, mainly due to the negative press and my own disappointment in thinking GameFreak would do something big with this one considering it's the first console pokemon in decades. However I do still want to play it so I'll probably ask for it as a Christmas present.

I know some of you are playing the game and so the point of my rambling is to ask about the differences between the versions, legendary cover art Pokemon aside.

Hard lesson in recycling. There's this thing called 'dirty' metal. So if you have a 20 lb aluminum casing with a small iron rod in it, you'll get the rate of 20 lbs for iron. Which is dirt cheap. So I got $1.40 for all my hard work. At least I'm wiser now....

@Sci: $1.20 wiser. Compared to the cost of formal education, you got away with...a steel.

Got my long, flowing locks trimmed today. Took 7" off the end, since in all ways, I have inches to spare. Still got a decent length ponytail. Kinda wish I'd gone another few so the trimmings could be donated to cancer patients. I'm mostly glad to still have a full head of hair at this point, but I probably should get it cut short at some point.

An update on my modelling stuff.

So the 3 Reivers I managed to pick up waaaaaaaaaaay too long ago have finally been painted with an experiment for basing.

So I tried to get all three on one base, and this one is a little crowded, but it's a good way to practice.

Image

Image

Image

Image

I tried to paint them as if light was coming from behind them. It didn't go too well but I tried.
Also now I am noticing that some of my silver paint got lifted off their grenades....urgh.
Painting during winter under the lights I have is not ideal.

Now this is not normal basing materials bought from a shop.
The dirt is literal dirt, superglued on, primed and painted.
The rocks are little aquarium rocks my friend had left over, glued on and primed and painted.
I managed to find this felt stuff from a local art supplies shop that was super cheap. So I decided to slice it up, make it all fibrous and sprinkle it on a base with superglue.

And, yes, I got superglue on my hands, and the best way to get it off is a nail file, soap and water.

They look definately nice! Maybe next time you try something like this, try put one on an elevated position. Like ontop of a rock, or a piece of scrap metal, to make the base feel less cramped. Just a suggestion tho, overall really good work.

I was just thinking that.

I do have a bunch of small bases spare, so I was thinking of making plateau pillars on a base for a vegeta/goku style face-off scene, lol.

49 Pokemon away from completing the Sword and Shield Pokedex.

Technically that number is probably much much lower because I completed the pokedex in Sun and Moon, but i figured i would try to complete as much as I could before the Pokemon Home app was made available.

Sweet, in Domestic na Kanojo, the Rui breakup was temporary! After slogging through 200+ chapters of melodramatic Japanese love story, my girl Rui flew back to Japan solely to break up with Natsuo for a stupid reason, which seemed like she wanted to fuck the Japanese chef she was in America with to receive haute cuisine training. I gave up then, but apparently it wasn't final! And Hina isn't winning again!

https://www.destructoid.com/shantae-fig ... 3475.phtml

[[ "WayForward's loveable hero Shantae is preparing for the Totaku treatment, as the Half-Genie Hero has been announced as one of 2020's additions to the miniature toy line, which already includes a huge roster of recognisable gaming faces. There are currently no details pertaining to Shantae's look, pose, or release date, but after receiving a positive response from her fans on social media, Totaku announced the purple-haired princess' inclusion, where she'll be joining previously-released characters such as Kratos, PaRappa, Sonic the Hedgehog, Jin Kazama, Spyro, Crash Bandicoot, Agent 47, and many more. Ok, let's deal with the elephant in the room: Shantae fans, (myself included), have been asking for our favourite gal to receive her own amiibo for literally years - and this release isn't exactly that - but hopefully her Totaku iteration will be as dynamic and neatly designed as Nintendo's figurines, and will see her dancing onto our bookshelves and desktops soon." ]]

Rumour: Nintendo Has Three Metroid Games In The Works, According To Leak Group"

The Metroid Prime Trilogy HD will happen I believe; they just want to wait for when Metroid Prime 4 is almost done.

A Super Metroid remake that "mimics Samus Returns in style and scope"? Eh, I wouldn't put it past Nintendo to do that, but that's harder to believe, and that's not something anyone really wants. Super Metroid doesn't need a remake. Its great as is to this day. Hardcore Metroid fans have played it countless times and newcomers have access to it in countless formats. I suppose they could add new areas and bosses and cutscenes, but I think most folks would prefer a new game altogether. And there's not really anything new you could add to the story, unless you're going to add massive new lore dumps that expands on the renegade Chozo we saw in Samus Returns' Chozo Memories, or show that Ridley did survive his final battle with Samus and got off the planet before it exploded (since after this all the Ridleys we see are nothing more than clones/X-Parasite copies) to help explain his return in future titles.

Star Wars question: On Spooky Planet in Fallen Order, it says the Nightbrothers are zabrak/tiny horn guys. The Nightsisters appear to be a different species the former in the thrall of.

So how does the breeding work here? Shouldn't they all be the same species, or hybrids, or...?

Metroid Prime Trilogy is, by all reports, a game that was ready to release sometime early this year. It was delayed because Metroid Prime 4 was delayed.
There is no question of if its in development. It WAS developed. Its just a question of when it will be released.

It'll probably be released near whenever the new 2d one is.

Sexual dimorphism. The Night Sisters and Brothers are the same race, except that the females lack horns and look like Rattataki with hair. The Dathomorians come from the Zabrak, which is Darth Maul's greater race where females have also been shown to have horns. Every Dathomorian is a Zabrak, but not every Zabrak is Dathomorian.

Why shameful garbage do you guys read/watch?

Is Domestic the source for the 'Domestic Girlfriend' anime? Because I watched the shit out of that and my heart skipped a beat when I saw you write Rui, cause I love that girl.

Is this the light novel you're reading?

I'm reading/watching some pretty shameful things, for instance the 'Teachers who date the students and get in these insane sexual situations, but all decide to keep dating the students' anime shorts that came out not too long ago. But if you want to talk about Domestic I'm all game.

Also, maybe this is for the anime forum, but I got my first collectors edition anime box set with the 'Bloom Into You' box Sentai sent out yesterday. Really pretty artwork for a gorgeous looking show. I wish I could support more shows with box set purchases, but lots of money I don't have.

The Dathomorians come from the Zabrak, which is Darth Maul's greater race where females have also been shown to have horns. Every Dathomorian is a Zabrak, but not every Zabrak is Dathomorian.

Ah, exceptions to the rule then, while also looking very much like Rattataki. A rare, odd exception. What confused me was the game explicitly says the males are zabrak, but I didn't notice them say the same for the women. And then they don't refer to the culture as a matriarchal zabrak society, so much as them appearing to live apart, with the males as primitive warrior-thralls.

That said, I do appreciate the ambiguity insofar as it makes you stop and think how this dead planet works.

The title translates to "Domestic Girlfriend," so yeah. Didn't know it had a anime, but it's a long running manga series. Actually has a passage of time no less, from standard Jap high school to college and the work force.

Looking at the anime synopsis, looks it only covered a fraction of what's in the manga so far. Whoops. I recommend the manga then if you enjoy the show! Has a lot of the usual melodrama and meandering you get in these sorts of stories, but I enjoyed it. Need to catch up with it now that I know it's, at least for the moment, not going the way I thought it was when I left off.

On that note, I give in and watched the Kawakami romance route in Persona 5. A damn shame P5 isn't on PC. Though in P4, I was all about Naoto, oddly enough. The masculine sense of romance is funny that way. As much as you can call a latent desire to conquer/help a hot slightly older teacher as "romance."

Ohhhh nice try, but the correct answer is Futaba.
(also acceptable is Takami)
(Haru is fine in a pinch)

Alright, I'm getting the manga and not sleeping for a while.

Kawakami is the teacher correct? She was a contender, but it was between her, Hifumi and the Dr which I really wanted to romance, but Makoto won out. Futaba is one I really want to see, but I have an assumption of how that will actually end up.

I am unaware of any of the other girls, honestly. Though I have to give P4 credit, all of the major ones, except Marie, were compelling. Yukiko had the give-and-take with her traditional upbringing, Chie was a tomgirl and pleasant and I forgot the crux of her growing up issue, Rise needed a genuine connection, and Naoto needed to come to terms with becoming a woman/Yu's massive dong. The only conversation with Naoto that was confusing was the one where you tell her she should dress up like a girl for you, when the context of the moment wasn't the right time to push her to accept her femininity, but it was the correct choice. At least that's how I recall it.

Given the standard of writing in games, much less one from Japan, it's rather impressive the Persona ones seem to do it so well, with romances on top of it.

Though I still need to play P3 if I can find the charging cable for my Vita.
