I remember nearly getting misty during the vows, because the love displayed by their friends and family and each other is for better people than me. Hopefully they start having kids right away, the groom's the best man of our generation I've ever met, and they seem to be deeply in love. It was a nice touch to have his little brother be the best man, as he was for his wedding a few years ago.

The Lord of the Host knew that if the Blood Angels and their successors could take these three vital objectives then it would be much easier for Imperial forces to spread out from Baal. This Angel’s Halo strategy sees Commander Dante and Chief Librarian Mephiston lead one force, Captain Sendini of the 5th Company of Blood Angels lead a second and Chapter Master Gabriel Seth spearhead the Flesh Tearers in the third group. The battle for control of the Red Scar stands on a knife-edge. If the Blood Angels win, it will be the first step to stabilising Imperium Nihilus, but if the Tyranids are victorious, the biomass that they harvest could make Hive Fleet Leviathan unstoppable."

Finished Fallen Order. Quite a good game, happy with how it went.

Complaints - Never really felt comfortable with the combat system as I have in Souls, or DMC, or any other game. The inconsistent nature of hit stun and timing and such bugged me, though I powered through it all on the second highest difficulty on my first try.

The dialogue system where you have to stand near the NPC and wait until the lines are spoken, with a lot of it being meaningless filler talk, is frustrating as hell. All dialogue that isn't quick, ambient one liners should lock the player into it and have a skip button.

Positives: Much of the rest of it. The planets had a nice mix of linear, linear with exploration, and pure open exploration, albeit it became much more linear as the planets went on, for obvious reasons.

Story was nice. The high-minded ideal of "We'll restart the Jedi Order by kidnapping a bunch of youths and trying to remember how we were taught!" being tempered into keeping the Empire from getting that info, and trusting in the Force, because Cal and Cere are _entirely_ unqualified to do any of that was a pleasant change.

That, and Cal's not really into the serene monk thing, so, given he's not really a Knight, as Cere isn't really a Master, it's for the best. While I didn't care for Cere's arc, mostly because her bug-eyes were distracting and didn't blink, the resolution of her not overcoming her trauma, but able to control it, worked. Then Vader as the walking plot device to establish that, yes, Cal is pretty good for a novice, and Cere is still very strong, but they're nowhere near being able to deal with Sith. Neatly tucks this entire story to the side, self-contained.

Greez was fine, charming at times. Merrin is a cutie-pie and wanted to see more of her. Enemy variety was good, though the single/double/double-single lightsaber system was clunkier than it needed to be. But I appreciated the idea behind it.

Generally not a fan of vidya trying to use PTSD as a gameplay element (Mass Effect 3), but it was quick, thematically appropriate for power gating and such.

I recommend it.

Found my Vita. Couldn't find the power cord, this was a problem. However, my habit of keeping every stray cable I have paid off. Sadly, the Vita looks about the same as it was in 2015 when I used it last, such a shame for such an otherwise solid handheld. Fucking smartphones. But unless the Persona 5 announcement in the next day or 2 is that it's coming to PC, time to scratch that itch the only way I can.

Ran with my dog then worked out my chest this morning. Did a standing cable press, push ups (should have did those first cause I was exhausted) chest machine, inclined dumbbell flys, lay down behind head dumbbells and inclined press. There's something honest about pushing a bar away from you, I don't get it, but it felt good.

Also facebook has a dating app. Anyone here try it? I'm sure you'd get the same results from any other program, this one is free though.

I used to have a Facebook account X amount of years back, but I deleted it because it started to fuel my depression. Twitter is a cesspool at best, but I do have an account there which I pretty much never log into.

On that note, would Discord count a a social media? I have a rather small circle of influence there too, similar to this place, but I'm somewhat active there.

Pretty much never. I have a Facebook page which I sign into maybe once a year and accept friend requests from people I know in RL who have sent them. I have a LinkedIn account which has a bare minimum description of my job that I never update. I never use Twitter. I use Reddit but with various burner accounts that I abandon after about 6ish months of use. I use Goodreads if that counts but mostly for my own bookkeeping purposes and I don't really interact with anybody.

Maybe I've just been really lucky, but I've never had to have a social media presence of note to get a job. And I've also never needed cover letters even though most job advice type sites claim you *must* write one. At this point, I won't even apply to anything that demands I write a cover letter, but since I have a decent job that's sort of operating from a position of luxury I guess.

Huh. So we're all about the same, vis-a-vis social media usage. That surprises me, but also doesn't surprise me at all. At least us birds of a certain feather stick together. Though if I ever do kick myself into gear and start working on projects that can one day be published, the lack of social media presence would be comical. "B-but where do I complain to?!"

Unrelated, but my bank is offering me a new credit card, which would have rewards (% back) instead of the basic one I have now, plus $250 back if I spend over $1k in the first 90 days. I do need to build a new computer this coming year, so I could do that easily, and getting $250 "off" plus 3% "back" would a nice chunk. Is there any reason not to do this? All that comes to mind is the temporary credit score hit, but according to my bank, my score's firmly in the middle of "Very Good" range. I suppose I'd not get much use of it after the payout, because I mainly use my other card, an Amazon rewards, for whatever shit I'm buying, because that gives 5% back.

No social media, I prefer forums to express my thoughts to a select audience. I sometimes post on certain Reddits, like the Total War one, but very sparingly. I look at some Twitter accounts daily, though (Glenn Greenwald, Aaron Maté, Michael Tracey, Jimmy Dore, Secular Talk, Angry Joe, Spoony and for the moment some associated with Tulsi Gabbard).

Luckily the "has to use social media for hiring" craze has not really infected Germany so far, at least for the jobs I've been working.
