Well, fucked up my left arm/pectoral again. I must have some nerve damage there. Can't activate the muscles right when I work out, unless I really put extra effort in activation. People have been asking for Pokemon to just expand rather than release new games in old areas for YEARS, so I'm sure those same people will now start bitching that they are only getting expansions packs now finally got what they have been asking for.

I think there is a difference between paying for an expansion of the current game and paying for expanding to what the game used to be.

It's kind of like having to pay to get squadmates back in ME3 after they'd been around for the last 2 games when the only reason they were removed was some contrived reason of not wanting to be bloated.

Like, I get it, Nintendo wanted to focus on Sword and Shield's story and areas and stuff, that's fine. I get it. I'm also fine with paying for new areas. That's fine.
But paying for the thing they removed in the first place because they felt like it?
That's kinda blatantly showing how their reason for removing them in the first place was kind of bullshit.
I'm glad it's not the case of having to pay them to get them at all and they can be traded for, but it is kind of annoying that the only way they can encourage the thing they want to happen (player interaction) was to remove the old things that facilitated said interaction and then bring them back with a small paywall.

If it was paying for new exclusive Pokemon it'd still not exactly be fair but it'd at least be more understandable.

I'd have to see what this expansion system brings out before considering dropping money for a Switch and Pokemon.
If there is a "play as Team Rocket" or bad guys expansion, let me know. Then I might be more intrigued than a passing fancy.

I never said boycott or anything along those lines.
Recognising a product is not worth your money compared to a previous make is sound practise.
Especially when the product you would be getting now is only by being provided for by a fee.
I understand that server costs are a thing and need to be provided but I also understand that the previous titles provided this service for free.
I just hope Pokemon Home doesn't require a subscription based fee. But if it does I hope it's like Pokemon Bank where it's not much for a yearly service.

Naturally this is set-up to make future pokemon games more accessible and to allow you to port over other titles versions so they are no longer as obsolete as they were.
Now I feel that if this was released alongside Sword and Shield as some sort of package deal it may have eliminated a lot of the fan's fear/annoyances.
If the adding more pokemon doesn't require the expansion packs to do (as in you can battle with them they are just not wild in Galar) then that is even better. If not then it's still the same annoyance, just pushed along into a new expansion pack.

I say it's the annoyance of having to drop more money for a service that used to be done as a given.

That's the big issue, it was clearly bollocks to remove the other pokemon if they can just do it now anyway. Accepting this clear bullshit from the big names in the game industry is the reason it's become such a mess in the first place, I'm almost glad they've fully decided for me whether I spend my money on their product.

I will say it's a shame they still haven't figured out how to move pokemon from the other games into Pokemon Go.
I'd love to be able o break that game.

Still, Pokemon Home sounds okay in theory, I just hope that it becomes the norm for games/expansions going forward. That 2 or 3 games down the line we don't have another version to apply.

2 weeks of playtime, and I'm familiar with the series, bit over 100 hours I think. The difficulty curve was real rough for the first few palaces, but by the final boss, it was actually very well balanced. I ran low on all healing/sp items and health/SP pretty much by the time they went down, other than JOKE-AH because I had the SP-3 patch on him.

Ending was lovely. Knew Morgana would have to show up at some point, and his kitty portrait made me smile. Good furball, plus the bit where he fixes the van was kawaii as fuck, yo. Wish I'd maxed out more S-links, but as I understand, NG+ will make that super easy with the items I got from everyone at the end and actually knowing when to do shit. So many wasted skill-up points in hindsight, and wasted evenings. Though I hear in P5 Royale, they're cutting way down on Morgana's "But thou must sleep!" Went with Kawakami, wasn't much romance content, but she wasn't a teammate, I assume they have more?

A great deal of dialogue was completely unnecessary, especially when it got down to multiple different characters all repeating the same, obvious idea in different forms. The allure of them is the personal growth and quirks and relationships, not, "Step on the path in the right order!," "If you walk the path correctly, all the lights...", "Hey! Let's run around until we figure out this thing!"

I have no idea how the average player would make it through the late game without a steady stock of LeBlanc curry/coffee, because I had Kawa working on them constantly, and I was taking down palaces in as few days as possible towards the end. Though again, in hindsight, I should've prioritized different S-Links way harder. Didn't even start on Sun until I got his note he was leaving. Kawa, I put off for a while because of the $$$, didn't touch Fortune until I heard it was really good, same with Tower and Moon. Whereas Devil could've been left for later, as the effect is worthless.

I have 3 on my Vita, paused in what I assume is near the end-game. But so far, I'd put P4: Gold > P5 > P3. Royale is supposed to make P5 much better in much the same way, new ending of some sort too.

It requires a lot of money, but honestly everyone should be using the SP Patches. Id go as far as to say the game is almost impossible without them. It's why the doctor is probably the most important social link after Kawakami. But as I told Sci when he was playing, you will never get all the social links on playthrough one. Don't even try.

As far as romance content go, party members that can go on the Hawaii trip get the most. If you can get the Hawaii scene, Kawakami actually gets about as much content as, say, Futaba. I was pretty satisfied with Futaba (who gets extra scenes to make up for not being in Hawaii, but still doesnt get as much as Ann or Makoto). The only party member that doesn't get much at all is Haru, which really has more to do with how much they had to rush with her. The Doctor also gets a significant amount of time. She's also the only one that gets borderline explicit about sex which is pretty amusing.

As far as social links, I found almost all of them to be worth the effort except The Devil. She is utterly useless, and isn't a particularly interesting character. Fortune is useful, but I couldn't stand her. I didn't do ANYTHING with The Sun on my first plathrough, and that was a fucking mistake.

It is pretty cool to reach the end game with everyone maxed out though. Especially when the former Yakuza more or less orders Jokers protection when he's in prison.

Anyway... I super want to play the game again, but I'm waiting for Royal to come out.

Though Trumpeter's Debilitate is so fucking good I pretty much spent the final fight casting that or swapping out party members. Made the difference between needing to pop a 200hp healing item after his stock attack and having to use Diarama.

As I probably said, I missed the Kawa Hawaii date by 1 pip, but so goes the first, blind run in these games. Never know when the timer'll get ya. Though she's also real borderline, but for her hips. Though after Ayane in P4, maybe Japs just don't give a fuuuuuuuuck.

I think the highest I got the alert level to was 30% in the bank, by fucking around in the run-up to the vault. So her S-Link and a lot of the craftable items were pointless to me, since I used the ambush mechanic correctly. If you didn't, game would be an ordeal. I enjoyed her design, but she wasn't a good Devil, especially since she let Lala, who was cool, refuse to serve me booze. I mean, c'mon. We can fuck our teacher, commit manslaughter, and not a sip of Dom Pérignon?

My biggest complaint was the boss fights however. They had no tactical depth, since you couldn't force a knockdown, crit, or hit with a status effect. So no baton pass, no tech attacks, no use for a lot of abilities, which was a shame. Palace 1 was the best one too, as Kamoshida had such good buildup to dropping his ass.

Futaba gets a lot of content in general by virtue of what you said. You basically live with her and Sojiro. But not a ton of that is specifically romance stuff. As far as her looking young, well, yes its Japan, but dont forget that Joker is only 16. She is like a year younger than he is. She just basically suffered from malnutrition for however many years, so she is lacking in certain uh...assets. Personally, I'll go for pervert genius nerd girl every time.

I loved the game when I first played it, but I think playthrough 2 was when I really enjoyed it. Faster social links, not having to worry about my social stats, and being able to fuse the high level Persona really sealed the deal for me in a lot of ways. There is something wonderfully stupid about you and Satan off to save the day.

I can agree, however, that the boss fights are a bit of a disappointment. They seemed to be overly long, drawn out confrontations that boiled down to solving one puzzle.

God now I want to play again. I probably would if I wasn't also trying to finally get into The Witcher 3 (and failing miserably...)I want to get excited for Scramble, but man... Musou games get really boring really fast.

first PS1 game I ever played was Resident evil 2, couldn't figure how to play (I couldn't english at the time) and the game actually did scare me (I was under 10 so that makes sense), I gave it to my mother and said I never wanted to play it ever again and I didn't (I did buy the original trilogy on psn on the ps3 to try and give it a new chance now that I was older and the controls sucks, there's a reason why tank controls went the way of the Dodo).

4 months eh? That's quite a lot, hopefully this is to actually polish and improving the game, and no to botch it and try to sell it into smaller pieces later, like they did with the latest Deus Ex game.

But being a "live service" title, I guess that was always the plan so... yeah, could really just be a case of polishing a game for once.

I still don't quite know what to make of this one. On one hand, we haven't gotten a good big Marvel game in years, with the exception of the occasional good or okay Spiderman one, on the other... we still don't know how intrusive the online component is, and while I like the movies I'm really fucking tired of everything Avengers-related having to look like the MCU these days. And it's a particular shame considering this game is Square Enix produced, since not only thei're infamous for their crazy character designs, but they actually have an whole damn toyline of redesigned Marvel characters, showing how unique they could have made them look if allowed them to do it.

I guess I'm hoping it's good, but I won't be surprised if it isn't...
