Our alcoholic health teacher in highschool taught us that lesson, and I never forgot it.

I've been truly hungover once, and that was me, freshly 21, matching two 50 year old men drink for drink, all night. My natural tolerance is decent, from being a tall fella, but wasn't that good. The 24 hours after that was very unpleasant, couldn't even keep water down.

Otherwise, yeah, food, ideally salty and fatty, as much water as I can handle, pop 2 Tylenol (never Advil) right before sleep, works out fine.

This was inevitable, and I'm surprised it hasn't happened sooner to capitalize on the Ultra Instinct hype when it was fresh, but its also hilarious with just how many Gokus and Goku-variants there are in Fighterz. UI Goku, SSJ Goku, SSB Goku, Saiyan Saga Base Goku, Goku Black, GT Goku, Vegito, and Gogeta makes eight… nine if you count Bardock, ten if you count Fused Zamasu. Meanwhile, still no mention of much requested characters like Roshi, Mr. Satan, Kale, Caulifla, Kefla, Dabura, Imperfect Cell, Tao Pai-Pai, Toppo, and more besides.

I can swallow a rumor about a new 2-D Metroid game given the delay of Prime 4, but being a sequel to Fusion to boot? Not so much.

I absolutely refuse to believe something as miraculous as Paper Mario returning to its roots without direct evidence. That would be a dream come true, something Paper Mario fans have desperately wanted for years on end, and I need more than mere rumor to get even an iota of hope up on something like that. That's just too-good-to-be-true territory.

For Paper Mario it wouldn't matter anyway.

It's not just turn based battles or rpg mechanics. It's not just level design. It's not even adding actual unique characters again and not just different colored toads.

It's the entire tone and humor of the games. Paper Mario and Paper Mario TTYD were funny, well written games. The fact that everyone was flat was an aesthetic choice. Everything looked like a diorama. There were a handful of jokes in those games that referenced 'paper'.

Sticker Star and Color Splash there was ONE joke. "HA HA WERE MADE OF PAPER!!!"

Its awful. The only way they can make a Paper Mario game again would be to completely walk back every decision they have ever made over the course of 3 games. That isn't happening. It just isn't happening.

The best case scenario is an rpg completely devoid of any interesting writing or world building, and cringe-worthy jokes about paper.

I need to build a new rig/take a proper trip out west before I can justify one for myself. But dammit, that Alyx trailer was great.

How's the update/precision on those things now? Obviously the headset itself has to be incredibly high quality to not make you sick, but the hand dealies, since the allure is the immersion.

My experience with other people's VR headsets and such has been pretty positive. Ace Combat 7 was less handsets and more controller based, but I felt like I was in the cockpit. I could look all over the place, use the bubble canopy to it's fullest effect, and dogfights were nuts.

Given the brain is both really good at filtering out "noise" information, and also filling in gaps, I think the logical next step will come sooner than we think. For all the jokes about smell-o-vision, making us think we're smelling chocolate, or gunpowder, or feeling a "hit," is probably closer than we'd expect.

Though with that said, tactile feedpack is irreplaceable. Touchscreens are never as good as a nice button, or trigger.

Well, my computer is pushing 7 years now, since my laptop bricked. Which lasted a couple years from the previous laptop bricking so hard that nothing on the HD was salvageable. By some amazing bit of luck, that one didn't go down until literally the last day of the college semester, after I had used it to submit some thing. Then I took it out of my backpack, put it on the desk, bzzzt.

Though thankfully, this time, I don't need to really get a high spec rig. Games haven't gotten much prettier, or better, and the biggest bottleneck I usually hit is the CPU.

So apparently the Chinese have once again discovered a cross species illness, thanks to a meat market in some province that sold koala and other meats rational people don't eat, and it causes general flu symptoms, but has a much higher chance of turning into pneumonia. And their quarantine efforts have failed, it's popping up all over the world. Thankfully few deaths that we know of.
