I've been meaning to make an archive board for the dead topics, in fact. Doesn't give a nice appearance to have them floating around.

Though we tried a specifically Nintendo games thread way back when we first came here, to which you can see did not last long. Daily post count is 53 per day, to note.

Rebranding the Bioware topic would be ideal. Very little Bioware news other than a blurb update here and there. And when they do produce another game, we can either create a new topic for any initial discussion, or let it compete with other VG news. I wouldn't expect multiple pages of passionate discussion at this point.

But there is also a value in having a fairly active "general chat" topic here too. So if you guys care, weigh in, and if not, we'll leave be.

Well, for one thing we get a little too paranoid about whether or not food is expired in a modern society.

The other thing is that they probably did get food poisoning a lot. Thats why your body has a built in mechanism to make you feel repulsed by a food that made you throw up.

I had that yesterday. I made a casserole with squash, it was rather good, but remined me of an attempt I made in the past. It was bland and the texture was so awful I wanted to throw up. So when I ate the casserole last night it brought back memories of the old dish and I had a harder time swallowing it.

It was brilliant and amazing. Especially when all the other players came to help and the choir came in to represent that in the credits music. What a nice touch, to musically show what a big deal that was.

It brought a lot of good feels to me.

And because I'm such a nice guy I lost all my information. Oh shit. Ahhhhhhhhhhh! Ha ha ha, I laughed for a good 2 minutes until I had to take a phone call. But damn I'd play it all over again.

So I found the underground lake. It was easier to get to than I thought, just had to have my flashlight on the whole time.

In the story A2 mentioned that 2B would kill 9S over and over again. I thought that was a commentary on us having to go through the endings more than once, but what is she talking about? Did versions of 9S exist that had to be killed off?

Also, I couldn't finish the quest to help the resistance soldier mourning his friends. He laid the flowers on the ground, but I never knoew what to do after that.

Also the other 4S unit in the library, I kept running up to him at various saves in the game but could never give him all the info he needed. Maybe I had to find all the types bad-guys first. Get 100% of unit data on them to complete that.

Okay. I wasn't sure how ending E would be approached, but I guess the way I played it went from D straight to E.

And what a tragic ending D was. Shit I hated it. A2 showed restraint and 9S had to berserk himself into her sword. They aminated that struggle very convincingly. He deserved it, but I hate that either way A2 had to die. I'm sure there's a way to play D and then not choose to take the E ending?

Anyway, thanks for helping me along the way. What a tremendous game that gave me so much and then took it away. Shit, it's all gone Theo. There's nothing there!

Isnt it great? It's just a master work of game design. Brings me to tears every time. Especially because ending D, (which i bet most players do last), is sooooo rough. You as a player are at your absolute lowest, and the game itself decides to rage at the injustice of 'life' right with you. The ultimate conclusion being that people are worth saving, and life is worth living. It is the polar oppisite of, say, the ending of Mass Effect 3.

Hey I told you! Be sure you finish eeeeeverything you want to do!

And yeah 4S is very very hard to do. He is basically 98% of all the games files.

And ending D (which by the way, is the CANON event for Ending E) is horrifying. 9S's death is haunting. The animation and screams. They did not spare the players feelings or sensibilities at all. He died in terrifying agony. It is masterful.

But you may find it pleasant to know that Ending E is very much canon at this point. In fact, Yoko Taro wrote an ending E epilogue that fucks with players one last time. And also the hardest weapon in the game (The Emil Heads) to get more or less confirms it.

You may enjoy reading some of this now. It has a lot of supplemental information and stories. The epilogue is in there somewhere. (Remember to read it ALL. It has a false ending.) I'm glad you enjoyed Nier Automata. Much like Persona, i'm happy to see anytime someone gives it a try.

(Much like the one in the sidequest.) the scanner models are brilliant and built to be inquisitive. And 9S is the most advanced scanner there is. 9S always finds out the truth, so 2B has had to kill him many many times. Thats why she is so distant and cold to him early on. She legitimately loves 9S, but has had to kill him so many that getting close is just hurting herself. But she can never resist.

I dont remember how the resistance member quest ends unfortunately. I dont think you missed much either way.

The first time I heard 2B mention that she hates having to kill him over and over was at ending A and I felt it was out of the blue. I don't know if they meant for the player to only hear that information from other characters towards the end of the game, or if they gave us that info bit by bit, but I wasn't paying attention. Having the final revelation at the end makes the most sense, story wise and emotionally. I'll read the material you gave me to see if 9S always went mad after finding out all the info, or if 2B had to execute him the second he figured it all out. Anyway, I agree that having the E right after the D made for such an uplifting, unforgettable experience.

Your déjà vu radar is going off because we as a group was discussing these "anime countries for the Tokyo Olympics" thing back in July of 2019. Feels like forever ago, eh? I swear, sometimes it feels like the dumpster fire that has been 2020 has thrown my whole sense of time out of whack. To sum it up:

- It looks a lot like the first DLC, with just two new mons : Galarian Slowking (who looks dope) and Calyrex.



- But this time all previous legendaries are returning, along with 2 new Regis and the Galarian forms of the legendary birds



(Ignore the red circles they're just there because I found it on the channel of a guy discussing competitive pokemon)

- League will be playable in 2v2 with trainers from the game (sadly no sightings of former characters like Blue or Cynthia as of yet)
- Couple of promotional events, with a bunch of Pikachus and a Melmetal if you're playing Pokemon GO (might be worth picking it up for the Melmetal, apparently you just have to transfer a single mon through Home to get the gift)
- A new item will apparently change a pokemon's ability to his Hidden one, which is going to save a ton of time for competitive breeding.

All in all that does not seem to justify the overall price of these games considering the total content, but maybe the DLC story will be less disappointing this time around.

It looks good but the overall content is not that huge. There seems to be a tradition now that the first game released on a new console focuses on tech aspects and has limited content, like X and Y did, and they go all-in with content on the second game like they did with SM/USUM.

I recently played USUM for the first time and there are a ton of things to do there. X and Y however, once you were done with the story...And SwSh would be roughly the same if it wasn't for the DLC - which cost extra.

But if that means that they give us a DPPl remake with SwSh graphics later on, and that whatever the next new game is is loaded with content, it'll definitely be worth it in my book.

As for the leaks, there's been so many claims and rumors about who's gonna be in the third, and likely last, karakters expansion that I've stopped keeping track of them. We just have to wait and see who we get. Still hoping for Mileena and the Cyber-Ninjas, but I'll take anyone who can be fun to play, or to murder in creative ways.

I'd like a villain, personally. But so long as it's not another sword-wielding anime protag, I'll be at least not mad at anyone tho.

I still have my fingers crossed for Dixie Kong. She’d round out the DK legacy/representation nicely, she has enough unique stuff to differentiate from Diddy so she’d only be an echo fighter if Nintendo wanted to be super lazy about it, and her helicopter-hover mechanic she does with her hair in her own games would translate well into Smash. And they could get really creative with her final smash: like maybe calling in all the animal buddies or the whole extended DK family to pummel the opposition, or summon the Banana Bird Queen from DKC3.

Another villain would be welcome, but I'm hard pressed to name one right now that has a decent shot at getting in and isn't already an assist trophy.

I think characters like Geno, Crash, Rayman, and Shantae would make for fun additions to the cast, and have a far greater shot at getting in than some other choices you see out there on various fan-lists and fan-polls, but I’m not sure Nintendo has the motivation to spend the money/work for something like that.

Given the popularity of Breath of the Wild, and with Age of Calamity releasing soon, I wouldn't be too surprised if one of the champions joined the roster.

I think it’s a semi-safe bet that two of the upcoming slots might be taken by a Monster Hunter character (considering Rathalos is a boss) and a Generation VIII Pokemon (considering Nintendo likes to use Smash to raise awareness/boost sales of their Pokemon games like they do with Fire Emblem).

If it's another "anime sword" character, I’m gonna be legit mad. I can tolerate Byleth and Dragon Quest Hero, but no more.

My long shot guess is... well... Cinderace. It's the most popular of the 3 starters, Goh will eventually have one in the anime, they just yesterday announced more Pokemon news, and, much like Incineroar, physically has the right build and themes for a fighter.

Less likely, but still possible, is the Wolf with the sword. Cant remember its name. But it would certainly be unique.

It could be a BotW champion though. Probably Urbosa, maaaaaybe Mipha, as I think she is low key the most popular in japan. Daruk is fine, but ive never really seen anything to indicate his popularity, and Rivali, while having a great design, is such a twat i cant imagine they'd use him.
