I heard of one weird way of doing it, plugging your PSU into the outlet/plug (switch set to off, obviously!!!) and then attaching an anti-static strap to it and you.
Sounds like a good way to get yourself electrocuted to me, but apparently Linus from Linus Tech Tips does this...
I have Nitrile gloves.
I ask because I hopefully can consider at least moving my current rig to a new case but I am dead nervous about moving it when I basically have no non-carpet floors that have a surface that can hold the PC, lol.
That sounds like a posh accent, my dude.
"You'will?"
"Y'all."
"You...'ill."
"_Yuh_'_all_."
I've never actually heard of someone frying a component with static, even people who don't discharge on the case or PSU or whatever before handling them. I'm sure it _happens_, but having clean hands, or rubber gloves, seems like it would be a bigger impact.
On that note, I installed the I/O shield without slicing my fingers. Bask in my aura.
And don't wear a wool sweater and shuffle your feet. Wear your "trainers" if you got 'em. I keep the mobo anti-static bag for just this sort of occasion in fact.

Okay. So, it is now fair to say someone high up at GW has a fetish for humanoid walkers with exposed pilots, yes?

My accent is all over the place. I was speaking to an admission councilor, and I caught myself with a drawl, Joisey slur, and nasal neckbeard monotone at different times. That said, I could not say "Dadgum" without affecting a comical accent for the life of me.
