Going back to the school from Persona 3, and the annoying text-dump teacher, and getting the Shinto story about Izanagi/Izanami is cheeky. People who even remember that Yu's is named Izanagi are the only ones who'd even begin to connect the dots, and there's zero reason to connect the story to the murder mystery. Marie and her bamboo comb is about the only obvious connection at this point.

Got the actual leaking pipes fixed today and had the guy scope out the rest of things while he was here. Apparently we have like 1/2 copper pipes which somebody updated at some point in the past and 1/2 old original galvanized crappy piping "drops" that go down to the faucets. This is both good and annoying because on the one hand we would not have to replace pipes in the whole house if we wanted to update, but apparently if we do update we would pretty much have to go with copper over PVC or PEX or whatever since we already have 1/2 copper pipes. We had crap water pressure and were putting off re-piping the house because doing so would have cost a pretty penny. But apparently since we already have half copper, the actual price of replacing the crappy stuff would only be like 1/3 to 1/2 what we thought it would be. So I'm just gonna proceed with it and have done.

I've been told two conflicting completely opposite things by people who know what they are talking about. One is "nobody bothers to buy copper anymore and it's a waste of money." The other has said "copper lasts forever and since half the house is already copper you need to buy copper for the rest too."

Okay, great. That's helpful. I guess I have to get "not stupid" about plumbing enough to make a decision at least.

Man, I want to like chariots. I've tried to use them. Sometimes, they work amazing, destroy infantry lines, smash skirmishers, and barely take damage. Most of the time, they behave like scuffed cavalry with better stats.

But more seriously, it'll be good peace of mind to have the plumbing fixed up. I've been dealing with a leak when the shower's run for years. Off and on, no consistent pattern or reason. Opened up drywall, pipes were fine. Replaced parts, stopped, then started again. Completely sealed in the cracked mortar between the shower tiles, stopped, then started again. Rotted out one of the floorboards, but seems a fairly small, but persistent drip. Hasn't shown up for a few months, and then out of the blue, found the telltale signs the other day.

Its like the Telltale Heart, only way more expensive. Getting nice, new copper seems a delight in comparison.

Persona 4: The Death Social Link doesn't seem like it translated well.

Hisano's motif is saying, "I am Death." But the cultural connotations of that in the west are either Oppenheimer or the Grim Reaper. Those are active participants in the death-making business. Whereas in the character arc, she means it like a lesser spirit of death, putting a curse on her husband for his "betrayal." But it was implied she took diligent care of him until the Alzheimer's killed him. Her guilt and sorrow is about a purely psychological projection. Whereas, primed on Western stories, I was fully expecting a mercy kill sort of situation, because we see Death as an active, even aggressive, force.

I'd only done her SL once, so I forgot how it went. Finished the last party member dungeon, so the end isn't far off, and I haven't even started Tower, Hanged Man, or Fortune, yet. Can't remember where you find the last one either, and "upset young boy" is a hard sell while wrapping it all up.

Yakult. Japanese drink, used to be (still?) sold by ladies driving around bikes with refrigerator units. Cannot speak to the internal affects, but visually, my midsection looks less bloated. Remarkably so. I carry my fat in my ass and thighs, so goes genetics, but above the belt, clearly leaner.

Also had eel for the first time last night. Always meant to try, but its been pricey, and only a 50% coupon swayed me. Was pretty good. Way too much sauce on it, and the texture was odd, but tasted like a strange sardine. Need to try it again from a place that doesn't submerge the meat in tempura sauce.

Elden Ring is literally Dark Souls 4 with some name swaps. That said, Fromsoft has yet to fuck me, so I'm fully on board.

Finally won a Newegg shuffle. 3070ti tho, with a mobo I don't need.

Well this one's a thinker. I was initially aiming for a 3060ti, but then the work year's been pretty generous, so I aimed at a 3080. All of those are impossible to buy right now. Then the 3070&3080tis come out, and immediately get botted/scalped.

But this shit might last well into next year, if not longer, depending on when production can overcome the perception of easy scalping money + crypto mining profits.
