2 more TW2 achievements down. Exiles of Nehek, craft everything in the Mortuary Cult, have 3 mages in one army. In hindsight, I could've probably done the first in half the time if I'd simply bunkered down after my first expansion and hit end turn until I had enough jars, ended up conquering half Ulthuan, all of Naggarond, and most of Lustria, while my game-long alliance with the Sisters of Twilight had them sending doom stacks to help out.

Was a weird campaign. Tomb Kings run on a fine line between an army being utterly dominant or utterly useless.

Yeah, Blizzard is done. They were already having problems keeping up a shadow of their old quality, much less with a good chunk of their older talent not knowing how to be professional around women. With those guys gone, and who they're being replaced with, there's very little reason to suspect the quality of their games are going to improve. Though they'll hopefully stop molesting employees as much.

well some the employees is probably still need to skip meals to pay their bills and people are getting fired for speaking up against the current policies/leadership and getting replaced by people not from the gaming industry and Activision is pretty much putting all their faith on Call of Duty so yeah Activision/Blizzard is pretty much digging themselves a very big hole.

Werther or not the leadership is going to be punished remains to be seen, although I sure they have already planned their exit strategy with as a much money in their pocket as possible.

Hard to guess how their finances are. With Activision and unknown overhead, even if WoW is bleeding, and even if gamers managed to actually not pay money to a company they dislike, they might be able to go indefinitely, just crappier. At the very least, Overwatch 2 will pay for itself, Diablo 2 will make a fortune, WoW will continue to be a strong revenue stream with more microtransactions, etc.

It's sad. I recently watched a Warcraft 2 Beyond the Dark Portal speedrun, thought of that whole era, the hype for Warcraft 3, the delay, the manual full of lore, Pindlebotting, and so on. Those were good times.

Welp, it's happening, I'm starting to write (and later on illustrate) a book again. This time I'm trying to do something on local folklore, as we have a lot of funny legends about ghosts, gnomes, pixies and the likes around here. Gonna be a long process, so wish me luck!

We paved paradise, put up a parking looooot, ooooh bapbap.

I enjoyed Shadowlands at launch, but even faster than BfA, I did what I intended to do. M+ is not fun, especially as a tank, and I picked the "bad" covenant for my main. That and the story took an interesting premise and put so little creative effort into it. Used to watch OWL, at least on a secondary screen, all the time, but gave that up. Beyond a taste of nostalgia for D2, which I can easily overcome, there's not much left to draw me in. Unless OW2 is somehow a massive improvement in all facets, or they make a WoW2 built mTOR ore old school, but there's little reason to suspect.

TOR is getting a new expansion soon, I believe. That one's managed to remain decent through the years, and being Bioware Austin, has mostly avoided the change of guard. Worth a shot if you never have anyway.

Kairos is my boy tho. In Fantasy, does he have the same story, where Tzeentch doesn't even know what thing from the Deep Warp is wearing his skin?

I've never seen that in Fantasy or Age of Sigmar, but in truth I've also never actually seen that in 40k, either. I have seen a few people talk about Kairos possibly being a Deep Warp creature wearing his flesh like a puppet in forums and reddit and whatnot, but I've yet to see someone actually provide a source for it. Seems more like a fan theory than actual canon from where I sit. None of the codexes and novels that I've read that talk about the Well of Eternity make it out to be a portal into the Deep Warp, just a chaotic nexus of energies at the center of reality where "time begins and ends" in such violent concentration even gods are wary to jump in, and Kairos only survived because he managed to crawl out its destructive tides just before he got atomized, but not before gaining his mutations and unique perspective on the past and future. And I have a ton of codexes and novels that feature Kairos and none of them present him as being anything other than just a very insane, two-headed Lord of Change who happily serves as Tzeentch's right hand man. Maybe it was very old lore from third or fourth edition that got dropped over time, like the Necrons being Chaos Androids were? Or maybe I'm ignorant as fuck on this topic, in which case by all means correct me if I'm wrong.

I just did the whole thing again with my Jedi Shadow, up until the current expansion. I'm kinda TOR'ed out right now, but when the new expansion releases I might be tempted to re-sub for a month, just for the story and more nooky with Lana Beniko, although the romances in TOR are just so fucking sterile it's disgusting. But she still is the best Sith waifu.

Currently playing Wrath of the Righteous, which is pretty fantastic. Probably got another 60 - 80 hours to go there, so much to do for the next week or two.

@Drag - Re: Kairos: Having done a quick scan, I think I found how that phrase came about. In a different book, another daemon is fleeing into the deep warp, for some reason, and two characters are having a talk about it, and "what might come back wearing his face." So that was presumably folded in with Kairos in fanon after his Well of Eternity dip. So it's extrapolation that the Well was the deep warp and that nothing ever truly comes back.

Regardless, the concept of deep warp is really cool, and I do hope it remains mysterious, as the metaphor is very strong, that even the big fish of the shallows are terrified of the depths.

@Magnus: I'm feeling the itch, though I'm also focused on rounding out Total Warhammer 2 achievements. On that note, do any of you guys have the Plaguebringer one?

I know they're going to make all advanced classes freely swappable for the base class, which is...quite a change. I rather enjoyed making alt and getting to make the specialization choice, it added to the fantasy, but so it goes.

Otherwise, whatever strange illness has had me since the beginning of the month, it's waning. Didn't take any antihistamines today, and did have rashes/hives/unpleasantness/weakness, but much less than in earlier weeks. So it appears to be passing, and some new allergy. Banging out a Legendary Bretonnia campaign pretty smoothly. From the moment I first fought Skyre in my starting province, to when I was able to push into Skavenblight, I must've killed Ikit Claw at least a half dozen times, and shattered a dozen armies. Which is a lot given they had _3 territories_ right next to mine. But thankfully the Peasant Bowman (Pox) carry hard against anything not heavily armored.

Also, drawing the hips is odd. More angular than you'd expect. Keep expecting smooth curves and finding faint angles.

On a whim, I started playing Pokemon Sword over the weekened. Never really played Pokemon before and was looking for something new and (semi) mindless to play while listening to books. As it turns out, it's only mindless if you actually know what the hell you are doing. I finally hit a groove after a day or two but the group typings are consistently not what you expect and there seems to be no particular solution other than route memorization. (I fought a squid monster that wasn't water type as one example. Okay, sure).

Also, SNOM! He is utterly useless in practical terms but he's great.

So far the Deep Warp has only been mentioned in like 3 novels, and even then, the info we get on it almost nothing; we know more about the missing Primarchs then the Deep Warp, so you're covered on it being mysterious and unknown and a place even daemons are scared to travel in. I like that the Immaterium has different “flavors” to it: the domains of the Chaos Gods and surrounding areas are like Super Hell made up of every underworld ever depicted or imagined, the Formless Wastes is like an ocean of primordial energy of unlimited but dangerous potential, and the Deep Warp is like being inside one of H.P. Lovecraft’s nightmares. A different flavor of dread and pain for every occasion!
