"Konami is making preparations to relist Metal Gear titles that have been delisted, according to a tweet from the official Metal Gear Twitter account. The tweet reads: “The Metal Gear series, which launched on July 13, 1987, celebrates its 35th anniversary today. Preparations are underway to resume sales of titles which have been temporarily suspended.” While the tweet does not name any game specifically, back in November 2021, Konami announced it would temporarily remove Metal Gear Solid 2 and Metal Gear Solid 3 from digital storefronts as it worked to renew the licenses for select historical archive footage used in each game."

As stupid as it sounds, I am kinda thinking about resubbing for WoW for a month or two when Dragonflight releases, just to do the story content. Despite the whole Sylvanas disaster, I still care about some of the other characters, so I would at least keep current on their stories. Also it'd be nice to experience the new flight system and talent system, as well as the new class Evoker.
On the other hand, of course, I am still pissed off about, y'know, Sylvanas surviving, her bullshit "redemption" and just as much bullshit "punishment". Also very important, I don't have the time, inclination and, frankly, skill anymore to grind mythic dungeons or go seriously raiding. Looking For Raid is a soulcrushing experience as well. So, I don't see much point in participating in the endgame, since I can't really compete and don't want to waste evenings with terrible groups. I could go transmog hunting in old content, but that gets old pretty fast as well.
So, it'd be most probably a short expedition to experience the new zones and lore and then off again to other pastures. Still, I am very conflicted, since I pretty unequivocally wanted to get out. I guess I'll decide when I get back from Paraguay and have played Immortal Empires to oblivion. ^^
Oh, and that topic, Immortal Empires releases on August 27th, just on time when I need to go back to work.

That's basically what I did for Shadowlands. BfA, I made an attempt, but I gave up shortly before the first content patch. Neat as the talent tree overhaul is, and moving the story away from terrible metaphysics, not felt the urge to at least experience the leveling yet. If you do, let us know how it goes. Been playing D2 remake a bit, and being able to see the design philosophy that was, where it led, and what it is now, at Blizzard, is an odd feeling.
That and the dragonkin are scalies, dawg. I'm reminded of the end of the Diablo 3 expansion basically being, "Oh no, allllll the Evils you beat can come back...again!" But I liked the Dragon Aspects at least, once upon a time.

Yeah, I'm conflicted about the whole deal.
Anyway, first IE campaign will be Imrik, then we'll see who's next.

Look at those _hips_. Vaguely Middle Eastern inspired fantasy women live eternal in my heart.
@magnus: Fair enough. I'm mildly interested in how the new class plays, as the third hero class. I disliked the shift into planned rotations in combat, because it necessarily drew away from the roleplaying elements, and didn't add anything appreciable except making more inputs required to do equivalent damage. MoP Warlock was the best version of that I played, because of DoT snapshotting and busted talents/trinkets, so the complexity could be leveraged into ridiculous DPS. But on the flipside, pressing baseline combat is tedious. So doing raid Affliction rotations with Soul Swap and stuff, great fun, but having to press 15+ keys to kill a normal mob in the wild, annoying.
Part of a larger objection to the over design, where numerical amounts are all relative and scaled, too well tuned, and you can see through the illusion. 1 keystroke doing 5000 DPS and 10 keystrokes doing 5000 DPS only have a difference in player engagement, because I have to instill in muscle memory that 10 stroke sequence, and modify it, but tapping Shadowbolt over and over was never a problem to me.
Not sure who I'll do IE with first. Never found a faction that "clicked" with me, you know? Always had decision paralysis when starting a new campaign.

Well, Affliction was infamously one of the more demanding specs, so you chose your poison.
If I get back into it, I'll probably go with the Evoker for the leveling experience, since I plan to only spend a limited time in the game. On the one hand because trying out the new class should be interesting, on the other hand because the Dracthyr can use the enhanced flying as a racial in the old world, which doesn't work with the "regular" dragonriding. Yet. Given the enthusiastic reviews by really every Youtuber who has previewed it (lots of videos have come out in the last days), I can't imagine it not being made part of the base game soon after launch.
Vol wrote:Not sure who I'll do IE with first. Never found a faction that "clicked" with me, you know? Always had decision paralysis when starting a new campaign.
High Elves are definitely the default faction for me. I love balanced armies, since I've come from the historical Total War games (started with Shogun 1 back in the day) and High Elves have that, if you want. Well, to be fair, I've since fallen into Sisters of Avelorne spam, but you can definitely do the balanced army thing if you want.
Wood Elves also are fun, being even more ranged focused. I also enjoyed the Lizardmen armies with their strong focus on big dinosaurs. And surprisingly I like the Dwarves very much, since they have a good mixed roster of strong infantry, strong ranged, strong artillery, however no cavalry and only some runes for magic. Given the outpost system, their weakness in having no cav or flying monsters to take care of enemy artillery can now be denied with a good choice of ally.
So, my preferences are very much on the side of the ordertide. My one campaign with Brettonia was much fun as well. From Warhammer III again I preferred the human realms, so Cathay and Kislev. I guess I also enjoyed the Skaven quite a bit (yes-yes, nuke man-things with Ikkit Claw!), so at least I can play on the more chaos-y side there as well.

magnuskn wrote:Well, Affliction was infamously one of the more demanding specs, so you chose your poison.Demon Hunter DPS, OTOH, was very simple. My favorite class and main was, until BfA, the Frost Mage, with Protection Paladin coming in second place. Then I kinda lost interest in the Frost Mage (it somehow became too squishy) and so Prot Paladin became my main with Demon Hunter as my second spec.
After my first account was banned (RIP "Volrathrouge," my level 60 rogue, and my high 50s mage I cannot remember the name of) for botting for like 5 minutes in Durotar, got a new account. Right as BC was launching. Missed the Dark Portal event by a day or two of leveling, never got that damn tabard. But I would farm Un'Goro on that frost mage just because of that FaxMonkey video, and it felt like the coolest shit, no pun intended, ever at the time.
High Elves are definitely the default faction for me.
I thought HE would be my default too, for that reason, but the monster half of the roster never clicked. Bows weren't good enough, until Sisters, infantry was too fragile, as was all but Chaos' for a while, and the magic was potent, but not noteworthy. With all the DLC, yeah, I had way more fun with the HE. Oddly enough, think I've finished more campaigns as the Tomb Kings then anyone else. But dwarves are good too, love the stalwart line (brief as it is) with heavy ranged components, setting up formations, etc. But then their playstyle is tedious too, heh.
Wood Elves are very fun! Wish their economy was easier, because once they get rolling, Lore of Life, treemen, those are some hilarious battles. Once hid in a chokepoint in a deep forest with my treeman lord, with Flock passive, holding the entire pass by himself because the enemy couldn't really hurt him while they got grinded down by ravens.
Bret was fun until end game, when cav really can't do much anymore. Skaven are great if you can get going, Ikit with upgraded lab gear is a friggin' WW1 battle line, and it's glorious.

Today was the Starly Community Day, so I tried to walk my usual route. Not much pain, but on the way home, was limping slightly. Stiffness, I guess. Feels almost healed, so should settle down with some use.

This has never happened before in the UK, a place built for much cooler weather.

Ah, those 100+ days are brutal. Had a lot of them when I lived in SC, and they come a few times a year in NJ. First one in my life that I remember was when I was about..6 or 7. The adults were all serious about it, staying inside, or in the shade, being hydrated. I, naturally, went outside to stand in the sun for a minute. As a grown man, can take about an hour or two of it before the brain starts getting loopy and weird.
So I hope you, and the Brits in general, are able to stay cool. And keep frail people somewhere safe if they don't have AC.

about 0.5% of the nation has access to AC in their homes.
Even fucking MOSCOW has AC.

Are window mounted units, to cool single rooms, not common either?
Glancing at the news, a lot of people have already died in Europe from the heat wave. Awful. A teen died while swimming to cool off, which even I was unaware won't protect you from the heat.

Here in the Big Boot isn't much better either. We've passed the 40 degrees Celcius a few times already, and I basically have to run my big fan all the time when I'm home just to be able to function normally. And even so I feel constantly tired and loopy.
The fact I can't get a decent sleep and instantly wake up the moment the sun comes up when it's this hot doesn't help either :p
At least I have AC at work, but in there there's also an old lady with dementia who likes to complaing about being cold in the summer and the heat in winter, so it's a constant battle to keep the AC on. Yeeey.
