You know all those times where Batman has secret contingency plans to defeat the Justice League in case they turned evil or got mind-controlled? And Batman always says that the counter against him going rogue is the JL itself? Well, turns out he does have a specially prepared counter to stop himself. Its a robot named Failsafe, who's entire A.I. is designed to out-think and out-fight its creator and bring him down without mercy. And it's been prematurely activated and set against him. Oops! Guess this is karma for the Tower of Babel incident.

Well, after a long wait, season 2 of Primal is finally here, and it started with a bang! Two episodes for the price of one tonight. Dude, Spear and Fang are already tugging at my emotions.

--They set off to rescue Mira... not realizing just how vast the ocean really is till they're at the point of no return. Didn't pack any food, no fresh water to drink, no shade from the sun. They have to improvise on their long journey.
--Fang is a clever girl.
--Spear and Fang argue like an old married couple, its hilarious and sweet.
--Spear and Fang have no idea what whales are and get spooked by their songs.
--Tonight we dine on turtle soup!
--Turtle shell for relief from the sun.
--the storm brings the fish to the surface... including a megalodon. Shark Week!
--From Hell's heart I stab at thee, for hate's sake I spit my last breath at thee, thus I give up the spear!
--Fang and Spear get separated by the storm despite their best efforts and wash ashore on the new continent not knowing where the other is.
--Fang searches up and the down the coast desperately looking for Spear before finding another dinosaur like herself, only male. Gonna call him Red Face because of his red face. While initially distrustful they warm up to each other during a hunt, get drunk on fermenting fruit, do a mating dance, sleep together. Wonder if Fang got pregnant? If she lays eggs before the final battle, then Genndy's definitely gonna kill her for maximum tragedy points.
--Spear gets found by some ancient Celtic tribe, and they heal his broken arm after some confusion. He starts to enjoy hanging with them.
--Red Face leads Fang to what we realize is the Celtic village, and starts slaughtering them. He has a hatred for humans. Fang is shocked, but doesn't want Red Face hurt, so she tries to stop them from killing him. And that's when Spear sees her, with a dead guy in her teeth. Their happy reunion spoiled.
--The look on Fang's face is like "Wait, I can explain! It's not what you think!"
--Fang tries to de-escalate the situation, defending both Spear and Red Face in turns, not wanting either to get hurt or killed, but Spear and Red Face are determined to fight, and fight they do.
--Red Face gets the better of Spear, and Fang is forced to choose... and she chooses Spear. She gives Red Face the classic Gorosaurus Kangaroo Kick that knocks Red Face to his death, impaled on a sharpened log.
--Fang can only walk away sadly; Spear joins her, not taking up the Celtic chieftain's offer to stay.
--Episode seems to hammer home the idea that neither Spear nor Fang will ever find true companionship with their own kinds ever again. At least not for long before cruel circumstance takes it away from them. They are truly a family of two, taking on the world with only each other, their unique bond unbreakable, till death claims them.

Netflix had announced in March 2021 that it acquired the rights to the original comic book series from BOOM! Studios, and it describes the story:

Netflix would first adapt the story into a feature film followed by an anime spinoff series. Netflix added that the anime series "will further expand the BRZRKR universe by exploring different elements of the story. In the series, Reeves will reprise his role and voice his character." ]]
