Spent the first day of my 4 day Memorial Day break...powerwashing a house. Heh. Charity work too, didn't make a time. Stripped the peeling grip-strips from the stairs too, killed the residual glue (for the most part) with a specialty Goof Off spray. Gonna put new ones on tomorrow for the little old lady, so she doesn't slip. Also inflated my bike's tires and greased the chain. That is far, far too productive for my lazy ass to do on a day off, I need to faff twice as hard tomorrow to compensate.

Speaking of walking, today (and tomorrow) Shadow Mewtwo raids are active. All week's been a new event in the Pokemanz Go with shadow raids being introduced. Need to grind the low level ones, and the normal Team Rocket encounters, for shadow stuff you put into a machine to make purified stuff, which you spam on Shadow Mewtwo when he enrages so you don't get oneshot.

However, instead of special raid times, it's just ran like a normal raid. Meaning, at some gyms, at some times, and you don't get more than an hour notice. Everyone in the local Discord, however, was doing a caravan system and driving all around other towns. However, the first raid of the day was at 10 AM, at the park I usually walk to. However, however, I learned this late at night, several drinks deep, and I was very sure I was not going to be _awake_ by 10 AM, much less capable of walking a few miles.

I was wrong! Woke up after about 6 hours of sleep, right as rain somehow. Then found out the Memorial Day parade was going on at 10, and so they call called an audible and went elsewhere. Spent the day checking the caravan notes, going further and further out from this town, and feeling kinda gypped. But nearing the end of the raid times, they call a spot a quarter mile from that park, and I was able to get dressed and hoofed it down there just in time. Lovely day out too. Got my (second) Shadow Mewtwo, then another one popped at the park itself 10 minutes after. Sometimes these (admittedly silly) things have a way of working themselves out!

I wanted to! Alas, a whole bunch of Shadow Mewtwos spawned near the house! First one was actually minutes after I stirred from my drunken haze, got dressed and rushed out there a moment too late. But then all day they kept popping up nearby! Must've gone out at least 3 times. Didn't get a single good one either, heh. One was the second to worst possible stat product for this raid, 6 attack, 7 defense, 6 hp (6/6/6 is the floor). But I took my bike out a bit, need to work up the nerve to take it out more rather than walking everywhere. Wasn't a restful day tho!

Did have a Seinfeld-esque observation. Everyone else doing the raids was in a car, driving around the region all day. The game is meant to get you _walking_, which is why I picked it up. Then the question of social etiquette came to mind. We're all communicating via Discord...and nobody ever really got out of their cars. Was I supposed to go up to them to chat? Were they supposed to come out? It was...odd. Always liked Boomers more in this regard, they're too innocent and pure not to get out and start gabbing about whatever thought flits into their heads.

So I'm tired! And these Coors Banquets are piss-weak. Got leftover pizza for tomorrow, gonna _properly_ faff, then back to work!

Been screwing around as my cyclical interest in Total Warhammer winds down, starting and quitting campaigns relatively fast.

Tzeentch has weird pacing, can barrel through to take not-Antarctica really fast, then get invaded at every turn. Annoying.
Orange Chameleon bro - the teleport mission mechanic does not scale well with Legendary difficulty and the rate of missions
Nurgle (TW3 campaign) - Awkward mechanics, very strong army once he gets going, way too easy once set up.
Nurgle (IE) - Got wiped out by 2 of Ghorst's stacks the second I touched the mainland.
Taurox - Still too easy
N'kaari (IE) - Working on this one right now. Pretty neat, though it's very micro heavy, which is my weak point. Never know when to commit daemonettes. Starting against High Elves is silly, since they hard counter him without good tactics, but he's extremely powerful if there's no ranged around. Seduction mechanic is really fun, as it weathering enemy assaults until you can force vassal on them.
Vlad - Even without his ring, was still near a one man army. However, ended up fighting dwarves the whole damn time, because the Empire wanted to be bros, and vamps are not great at armor piercing, so it was hero spam, just like with Nurgle. Ended up triggering the dwarf crisis too and gave up.
Festus - TOO EASY OH WOW. Man was doing 100k+ damage by himself in the early fights, vassalized Reikland by turn 15, consolidated the Empire and moved into Vladland, took on 3 high tier stacks at once with half an army of Chosen, half of monsters, didn't take any notable damage. Silly.

Was playing a Kroq Gar campaign last week, which was way easier than excepted, I cleaned up everything very easily. Still on it, but I am not very eager to get back to finish at least the long campaign objectives. Although I got the new Chaos Dwarves endgame, which seems oddly relaxed... they are just sitting in their capital with a few stacks of elite troops and wait for me to come to them.

I've been mostly obsessively playing Crusader Kings III again with the new DLC, as Alfred of England, going for a "unite Britannia" start, where I aim to get very high development levels in my own counties for elite longbowmen stacks. Alfred just died and his son is already 50, with one female child to his name, so I just married some 16 year old in the hope of getting out some more lads before he croaks. Luckily I've implemented elective succession and so far I can just pass all the counties, duchies and kingdoms on to the next chosen heir.

Heh. I always tell myself doing a Skyre or Eshin run will be super fun, but then the reality of the slog to _get_ to the fun parts burns me out fast. Kroq starts with Kroak, right? That's gotta be _silly_ fun to be dropping nukes from the start. Chorfs really are a triumph of design, all the stuff CA learned over the years, so I really hope they can keep that quality up, and bring the other factions into some kind of rough parity.

They apparently have crushes on Mercy and McCree respectively, which are unrequited, as Mercy wants a literally dickless cyborg and McCree wants a robot. The symbolism is like poetry, it rhymes.

However, that Blizzard has always announced a character is secretly homosexual right when something awful they've done is about to come to light. So two at once, they must've messed up real bad this time.

Eh, Crusader Kings III is more of a "dynasty simulator", where you manage a dynasty of nobles and get them through their life. I just got the Empire of Britannia established (immediately renamed to Avalon by me) yesterday evening and now it's mostly mopping up the remaining few regions of the British isles which are not part of it yet and then boosting the technological development of my main two duchies, so that I can get those longbowmen proper overpowered. Also some eugenics on my own family to get genius beautiful herculean heirs in a few generations and lastly establishing my own christian religion. Although catholicism is pretty useful in asking the pope for free money every two years. Then again, when I establish my ruler as the new pope of the Avalon Christian religion, I can choose a doctrine which makes my subjects send me requests for granting them absolution for money they give to me. Ah, well. First a united British isles, then the rest.

Alright, I need to solicit opinions. One of my New Years resolutions was that I'd work out at least a few times a month, of which I consider 30-60 minutes to weightlifting to be a "workout." However, now that I'm quite busy with actual, money-making, work, which is manual labor, I've not lifted my weights since April. However, I would argue that my job more than constitutes a workout, and the spirit of the resolution was coming off 3 years of brutally bad income.

So to solve the conflict in my own head, I ask you guys: Would working manual labor constitute a workout, in terms of the goal of getting into better shape, in your opinion?

As someone who'd never worked a manual labor job I feel my opinion doesn't have much weight. This is my insight though; I feel if your job includes the major body motions then yeah. If you do vertical pushes and pulls (Lifting objects above your head/pulling yourself up) Horizonal pushes and pulls (Pushing objects in front of you, pulling them towards you) Squats and Hinges (Lifting equipment off the floor, standing up and walking around with heavy equipment) and you do that all day then yeah, that counts as a workout.

From my perspective, I feel like using your job to fulfill the resolution goes against the spirit of a new years resolution. Your job is something you'd be doing anyway, regardless of whether or not you made that promise to yourself. To me, a New Years Resolution would have to be something more than what you would normally be doing had you not made the resolution in the first place.

My only other thought is that, the labor you do might not be working out all areas of your body. There could be some areas being neglected, and it could be beneficial from a pure health and safety standpoint to design a workout that strengthens those areas. You're only as strong as your weakest part. One slip up at work, and all the strength you've built up from work could get suddenly transferred to a weak part of your body that doesn't normally get worked and then suddenly you're bedridden for a week and have a hospital bill to pay.

I suppose it depends. If you take your New Year’s resolutions as more like guidelines or reminders than hard rules for yourself, then I’d say yes. But if you’re a hardcore “spirit of the law” kind of guy and take resolutions as serious promises or challenges to yourself, then I’d argue no.

Can't speak to that, because every time I've tried getting into lifting weights, etc. on a regular basis, it lasted two months at tops, then I either felt I got better stuff to do or got sick and lost all my progress. What I've been doing is a calorific deficit diet, which so far has downed 16 kilos in 6 months. And it works pretty easy, I just got to calculate what my daily intake is and stay below that to a certain degree. I actually eat ice cream and other sweets quite a lot, but in clear measurements per day. On a four days a week basis, i.e. Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday I can eat 500 calories of sugary stuff, which comes up to about 150 grams of it, the other days its just my normal two meals at about 600 - 700 calories each... since some of the microwave food I eat at work comes out to only 400 calories, I can then eat an additional single ice cream cone, which weighs in at 200 calories.

I say it depends how hard the manual labor job is and which parts of your body you use the most.
