So Marvel is killing off Ms. Marvel, and the whole thing got leaked early because a lot of people internally hated this idea, so they had to spoil their own surprise to get ahead of the story, and almost everyone agrees they're only killing her so she can be resurrected as a Mutant instead of being an Inhuman so the synergy can be more simpatico when the new MCU movie featuring her comes out, and because Inhumans are ill-regarded these days after that whole Mutants vs Inhumans conflict/behind-the-scenes-drama/devaluing the brand/Perlmutter thing from a few years back.

"Legendary comic book artist John Romita Sr. has passed away on June 12, 2023 at age 93. He’s best known for his work on Marvel Comics’ The Amazing Spider-Man and for co-creating characters including Mary Jane Watson, the Punisher, and Wolverine."

"Comic Book Legend Passes Away: John Romita Sr., arguably the greatest Spider-Man artist of all-time passed away Monday. His son, artist John Romita Jr., made the announcement on social media last night.
“I say this with a heavy heart, My father passed away peacefully in his sleep. He is a legend in the art world and it would be my honor to follow in his footsteps. Please keep your thoughts and condolences here out of respect for my family. He was the greatest man I ever met.”
When Steve Ditko left Marvel after The Amazing Spider-Man #38 (1966), Stan Lee assigned Romita as the main artist. Romita started off with issue #39 and his artwork would become this standard on how Spider-Man looked in promotional images around the world for Spidey, even to this very day. Romita designed many characters for Marvel’s Amazing Spider-Man including, Mary Jane Watson, the Rhino, Shocker, Kingpin and George Stacy."

"The legendary John Romita Sr., one of Marvel's most influential comics creators ever, has died peacefully aged 93, confirmed by his son, John Romita Jr. yesterday. Though perhaps best known for his seminal five-year run on Spider-Man starting in 1966 and taking over from Steve Ditko, a run which saw the introduction of the likes of the Kingpin and, of course, Mary-Jane Watson, including one of the most memorable intro panels of all time. In the 70's he moved on to be Marvel's art director, a post he held for something like two decades, where he oversaw, and was involved in the creation of, characters like Luke Cage, the Punisher and Wolverine (designing his costume before Herb Trimpe actually drew him on his debut), as well as mentoring younger artists."
