Re: Bioware General (Mass Effect/Dragon Age/Other)
Ill be honest with her they lost me at "I'm a Biotic" because that means we are playing that little game again where every second person is a biotic.
Really they lost me at "human" but even i know thats a bit unreasonable.

Re: Bioware General (Mass Effect/Dragon Age/Other)
She's a biotic that trained with an elite asari commando group, <Someone>'s Daughters, I think.
But yeah. More weird aliens. Less humans. In fact, one human. Merge Liam and Cora into a single character, a mulatto ladyboy biotic engineer. Aw yeah.

I guess it's because of SAM that Ryder can switch skills on the fly. The idea of merging an AI from the Mass Effect universe with your body sounds like the dumbest and most needlessly risky thing you can possibly do, but I probably shouldn't expect better at this point.

Alec Ryder comes across as pretty confident, maybe he thinks he won't make the same mistakes others have.

Last time I checked, an whole galaxy got fucked because of an AI, and that is why we have to move to another to continue the series. Wouldn't call that a win by any meaning of the word.

The Andromeda Initiative doesn't know that, though. Even though history has told them that it's not only highly illegal to create AIs, but that it's also dangerous in more ways than one.
But humens r speshul, I guess.

Fuck that concept too! I'm tired of "special humans" and choosen ones. Only reason Shepard got away with it was that by the time he became Space Jesus I've been following him long enough to care.

Small wonder no (or not many) quarians signed up. Unless they're were of a similar mindset to Admiral Koris, they'd find all these A.I.s terrifying and potential disasters just waiting to betray or murder everyone. If they want that they could just fly up to Geth space and ring the proverbial doorbell.
And let it be said the last time we encountered the idea of organics merging with A.I.s via procedure in the ME universe, Javik said the result was a nightmarish monstrosity that preceded to enslave the organic species of their hosts, and then set their eyes on attacking others, forcing the Protheans to make the sun in their system go supernova to finally get rid of them. And let it also be said that even the Starbrat Reaper God failed in its experiments to merge the two by its own admission.
Being so gun-ho about merging with an A.I. seems like a perfect recipe for trouble. That could strike many as being reckless and irresponsible. Just how tested is this procedure? Are you willing to put that much trust into such a radically new technology when you are exploring a new, potentially hostile galaxy with so many people depending on you with the nearest help 600 years away? Any plans in case things go wrong?
Just as well they all left for another galaxy. If word had gotten out, the Citadel Council would have punished them for breaking their anti-A.I. laws.

Watch as the game will most likely never even approach these problems, let alone provide a satisfactory answer as to why and/or how they did that. Or make something interesting out of it because it simply works.
Re: Bioware General (Mass Effect/Dragon Age/Other)
I like Cora's haircut. It's infinitely more tasteful than any of those travesties in Inquisition, and sidecuts/undercuts are one of my favorite styles when done right.
Honestly, Cora and Liam look okay. And really? If they're not? I got Drack. All the other squadmates can suck, but I know I'll at least have one kro-bro I can run around headbutting shit with. Really, that's all I need.

I'll wait until after the early access people give their verdict. Should buy me a week to make up my mind.

I still don't give enough of a damn to even preorder the cheapest of the digital editions. I'm done preordering "AAA" games.

I will say this for Bioware's favor--at least when it came to ME3 and ME:A--having the deluxe edition (or collector's edition, whatever) only be ten bucks more is a tempting offer.

Game's are more expensive nowadays so I think it balances out a bit, but yeah only paying an extra fiver isn't so bad.

It's taking a lot of will to not preorder it at this point. The early access with the EA subscriber thing is also extremely tempting.
I won't, but I'll still likely buy the deluxe on day one. And maybe that RC car as well. Even though I have basically no time to play the bloody thing.
Edit: I'm at 69 total posts. I can never ever post here again.

Yeah, and if those items are anything like the items in Mass effect 2 and 3. They will never be available afterwards. So yeah, either spend the extra $10 or probably miss out on them forever.
Pretty good scheme their running. As I know I'm buying the deluxe edition so I don't miss out.

Re: Bioware General (Mass Effect/Dragon Age/Other)
I've had a look at a lot of the trail thoughts videos and similar videos. And here are the vibes I'm getting for potential romance options:

What do people think? It's purely my speculation, and we've also got non squadmate romances to feature. I just feel like they will cover all bases with squadmates this time however.

Hm. I'm going to say...
Peebee: Lesbian (straight in asari terms)
Liam: Bi
Cora: Bi
Vetra: Straight
Jaal: Straight
Drack: Not an option

I think it would be hilarious if the Asari was the one to have a sex lockout this time.

I figured Peebee being like Aria is pretty likely. Gut feeling. Then Liam/Cora, just from looking at them I'm getting Ashley/Kaidan in ME3 vibes. Vetra, I think she'll be a bone to us xenophiles, same as Jaal, and then making it work with a krogan would be too complicated.

I hope your right to be honest, I think maybe the the salarian pilot will be an option too.

Re: Bioware General (Mass Effect/Dragon Age/Other)
So far none seem appealing to me. Which is actually great right now, since I'll start the game with no preferred path and just base it off of character development.

Cora: Straight
Liam: Bi
Vetra: Bi
Drak: Gay
Peebee: Lesbian
Jaal: Straight
My ACTUAL prediction?
Cora: Bi
Liam: Bi
Vetra: lesbian
Drak: N/A
Peebee: Bi
Jaal: Bi

It would definitely be a bold choice.
Even Samara was interested, she just was restricted by her code.
To have an asari thats just not interested? Unlikely, but interesting.

If one of them isn't bi, it's Liam, because of complicated reasons.
Now if PeeBee was solely into men, I would eat my hat.

I dont know, Liam looks like he's been bent over a few times.
Bioware isnt that subtle. If a character looks like they might be gay or Bisexual, they probably are. Case and point, Dorian, Sky, Fenris, and Zevran. Pretty much the only exception to the rule was Cortez, but only because he was designed from the ground up to be captain boring.
They arent really into the idea of making someones sexuality surprising based on appearance.

I might just play my Ryder as celibate. I'm already planning on playing her like a salty bitch who doesn't want to be in Andromeda(author avatar as fuck).
PeeBee would be all like "love me!"
And I'll be all like "my only love is power."

I agree, but gay black guys is a touchy subject, and I don't know what the current PC way to handle it is. Otherwise, him and Cora absolutely look down for whatever, and design should reinforce character, so it's a fair guess.

I fully agree that a celibate path would be fun to include. Maybe a few short scenes of being alone, or with friends, in lieu of the romance ones, and some recognition in dialogue.

I just really want the option to play an uber edgy Ryder who knows no love but the sound a Kett's carapace makes when penetrated by magnesium coated incendiary rounds.
