Guilty pleasures, diamonds in the rough, shit like that
This thr---topic is where you can go into detail about guilty pleasures, surprise hits, and the like.
Games, books, shows, movies. It all fits. For example I ended up enjoying the show RWBY more than I thought I would, And Waifu VNs are a guilty pleasure of mine.

After never touching MMO's for ages, hating on them before even playing one I tried out Star trek Online recently... I have out in 42 hours into it and I am level 37 already...
And I like it.
And I like it.

Yes I've seen you running that in Steam quite a bit lately. Which faction?

Federation for first character.
Gonna burn to lvl 50, then go through the other campaigns to lvl 50 and then get my friends on TS3 to help me grind.

Guilty pleasure?
Well, I do like Schumacher's Batman and Robin movie unironically. Even with it's many issues.

Lately I've really been into Shojo manga. Kamisama Kiss, Mixed Vegetables, Aishiteruze Baby, Ouran High School Host Club and others I have a friend sending me. Fruits Basket is on it's way, too. Just anything whose demographic is aimed for young teenage women about young women who are discovering themselves or love for the first time. I just get too excited when I get a new one to read.

Probably my biggest guilty pleasure right now is the Hyperdimension Neptunia series. There's just something that I can't help but to find amusing and charming in something that is so self-aware of being cheesy fan-service filled japanese RPG and tries its best to roll and have fun with it at every step of the way.
That and the main characters push all of my "cuuuuuute!" buttons.

You can find quite a few of the Neptunia games on Steam.

Yeah, the four core games of the series ahve all been ported on PC and are on Steam already. Two of the spin-offs as well, and there's at least another coming before the end of the year.

Well, I've been reading, on and off, a series of Zootopia fanfics by a guy called Weaver, who did a lot of chan art. FNAF, Zootopia, real simplistic style. Story's about a sheep who moves into a predator neighborhood and has wacky misadventures because everyone hates him. It's alright, given the guy's an artist and not a writer. It helps that he's drawn supplemental material for it.

You guys every play hookie? I had my first one about a year back. My friend and I were at band rehearsal and we had a substitute director just playing through the pieces. After the half way break we didn't really have any pieces heavy with our instrument, so we both said we had someplace to be and went to a burger joint to have drinks and dinner. It gas great. A nice little diamond.

It is great to play hookie once in a while, though now I have to call it "sick days". Fun times with that, fun times.

Back in my senior year of High School I missed every single Friday.

I never played hookie before from what I remember. Mostly because I never really disliked school. High school for me was a breeze and since I never went outside, it was my only time to see other people.
There was one time where I wish I did. One of my friends just up and left in the middle of the day and as they were taking off. her friend who was driving her invited me to come along with them. The rest of the day was pretty damn boring and I always wondered what we would have done if I went.

Some movies I like to see, but everyone seems to dislike.
The Postman (I think most of the movie is over all pretty good, it's not perfect but I think it works).
Judge Dreed from the 90's (Didn't know there was a comic when I saw it back then, but I like 80's and 90's action movies so I see for that).
Street fighter (90's cheese, action movie and the villain is played perfect in my opinion).
Water world (90's action movie and over all it's pretty good).
Patch Adams (I love Robin Williams in the movie and I like the story, I do feel a bit bad for liking it as it's based on a real person's life and apparently take a bit of a shit on it, but still it's not bad if you ignore that part).

Both those are so underrated. Both have a special place in my heart because of the music by James Newton Howard who wrote Waterworld in 5 weeks, but one of the best action scores of all time. The movie was really funny and the bad guy (Dennis Hopper) was a riot. Just a really fun, interesting movie.
The Postman was such a compelling, serious story for me, which ended kind of weird for me because it was post apocalyptic for the entire movie until the funeral, but to me it was about choice and what happens when choice is taken away from someone. It would have done better if Titanic didn't come out right afterwards. I'm glad someone else out there likes these two movies.

I totally agree. I really don't get the hate this movie seems to get. Action is great for 90s movie and the whole concept of the movie is really interesting. Not to mention acting is good, if little over the top at times. But it's fitting for movie. It's not that far fetched to think that people are little off the rocker in post apocalyptic world.
I mean, it's basically Mad Max but on water.
Anyway, here is some of mine.
Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (Say what you say about it, I enjoy it. Nice action and Angelina Jolie does really damn good job as Lara in that movie. And she sure got the looks back then.)
Wild Wild West (Considered to be one of the worst of Will Smith movies ever, even by actor himself. But I find it enjoyable. It's just so crazy and over the top.)
Demolition Man (One of those 90s "classic" action movie in same way as many Arnold movies were back in 80s. But also had quite nice humor, which is something that's missing from many of these days movies.)
Crank: High Voltage (So over the top that you can't get much worse. But it's so over everything that it just makes you laugh.)
From games.
Heroes might and magic 4. (Considered one of the worst of serie....well before 6 and 7. But I like the 4 actually more than 3 in many ways.)

I could keep on watching that movie for the rest of my life.
I watched The Fifth Element so much when I was younger I think I ruined the tape, but I hear that it was panned big time and I keep on hearing how disliked it was.

On some rare occasions I watch the show Ancient Aliens... Its pretty crazy but amusing/interesting. I imagine its an experience similar to watching one of Alex Jones's rants but less....animated, and they throw in some history for you while at it.
