I've just been googling "Warhammer 40k spoilers" and variations thereof and browsing through various 40k fan sites and blogs and reading the rumors and "leaks". I have no idea how accurate or inaccurate some of these rumored story developments are; they could be all BS for all I know. The most recent lorebook/rulebook doesn't progress the plot quite that far so we have to wait for the next one. I didn't bookmark anything so I'd have to go digging again to find links. Maybe my history still has them; I'll look later.

You know, now that I'm thinking about it, I think I'm ready to move on from this place. Clan Z, in all its forms, was home for years. The one saving grace has been Dragaros and his posting of media and stuff, but I could get that in other places. I certainly haven't stayed for the air of positivity or sense of kinship or friendship or whatever.

I'm not angry or upset or anything, which I know someone will interpret this as. It's just kind of a quiet, calm realization. I think at this point I like the idea of this community far more than I actually like any aspect of it. It was nice while it lasted, but I don't think I'll be coming back.

That's been the most disappointing thing so far about the Gathering Storm books: thei're basically glorified Codexes, there's enough material and events in each of them to fill multiple novels and instead it's all condensed in a few pages. I'm almost certain that it's because GW is building up the new status-quo of 40k before releasing the new edition of the game, but I hope that once that's out of the way thei'll take some extra time to produce some proper novelization of the events, because there's alot of cool stuff going on that is almost "blink and you'll miss it" in the current format.

I believe they’ll go back and flesh things out. It might take them awhile, but they’ll eventually get around to it. I think right now they’re just trying to focus on getting fans excited and eager to spend lots of money for the next big edition after all this status-quo shifting. 40k ain't a cheap hobby. You need to really motivate folks to buy all the models and codexes and whatnot.

It took them forever to do novels of the Horus Heresy but they’re finally doing it, even if that series is still going on with the showdown between Horus and the Emperor nowhere near in sight because they’re moving the plot at a snail’s pace. (There's been a ton of artificial lengthening of the story just so they can sell more books; I’ve skipped several of the recent HH novels out of frustration)

Oh, apparently Link can just straight up have sex with people in Breath of the Wild, because so far every "special bed" i have taken at an inn has been incredibly obviously sex.

So, a grand sprung on me to pay for part of the wisdom tooth removal back in December. This turns into a lingering infection, which I still have and needs to be addressed, which in part sets off my panic attack, which looks to cost about $1,300. And today, I get another bill from the oral surgeon, apparently there's $500 that wasn't paid for the original surgery and he somehow got my billing address. Meanwhile, the ER doctor said I really should see a cardiologist about my heart.

My plans for moving forward with my life in August of next year gets pushed back until 2019 at the earliest now. Fucking thank you American healthcare system. Hopefully I can get some of this shit reduced/removed, because I'm not paying thousands of dollars for unsatisfactory service.

Ok, I can confirm right now, if anyone buys a Switch, buy a screen protector with it.

I was being extremely careful, and i still got a small but noticeable micro-scratch on the Switch screen.

Apparently the reason the screen scratches so easily is that its made of plastic, not glass. This makes the screen very durable, and unlikely to shatter after a drop, but easily scratched.

Nothing better than having your GPU finally shit the bed after finishing the conversation with Vigil. Knew I should have got my saves ready earlier.

So I beat Breath of the Wild, but apparently I didn't really beat it because i didn't find all the memories. (I thought it was rather anticlimactic)

Finding the memories wasn't a big deal, but why in the blue blazes would they place the last memory right before the final boss, at the end of the last dungeon, force me to go back to the initial quest giver, and NOT LET ME JUST SKIP GOING THROUGH THE FINAL DUNGEON AGAIN?!

So far this year i have played two new games, Yakuza 0 and Breath of the Wild.

Both of those games had made me so excited about games again that i had renewed faith in the industry.

Then i got to thinking, how bad of a year was for gaming? So I made a list of the new games i actually enjoyed last year. Pokken Tournament (which barely made the list), Dark Souls 3, and Pokemon Moon.

Three months in, and its already looking like 2016 will at least be tied. Looking at all the releases coming out this year, Im feeling confident that it will either be double or possibly even triple.

Basically what I'm getting at is, fuck 2016.

Well, I keep finding fun indie games, mostly Metroidvania stuff, that I really enjoy, I have alot of fun anime-y stuff I need to get to play and I regularly go back to old titles I liked, so gaming-wise I really have no complaints.

Then though I look at the mainstream marker and I see that pile of whocares (at least for me) that is ME:A, Relic buttfucking one of their most popular RTS series with Dawn of War III because focus groups told them DOTA-like shit is the way to go, and Nintendo basically put all their bets on Zelda as the big first party launch title for the Switch, while there's still not even an hint of a new Metroid game being in the works, and it's probably gonna take a considerable amount of time even to get a new Mario Kart or a new SSB, since we're getting slightly improved version of the WiiU entries in those series on the Switch.

So yeah... my love of videogames is still strong, but every time I look at big publisher or how series I like/used to like are being treated I feel very very sad...
