Rebels season 4 is going to be the last season.
Thrawn's assassin-bodyguard Rukh is canon again.
Bo-Katan is back.

Re: Animation and Comics
Last season, huh? Makes sense. I imagine Filoni and crew are already planning on doing a new series. Plus those new shorts that take place across all three eras.
Can I please have my Ahsoka spin off? That'd be neat.

Re: Animation and Comics
I wouldn't be surprised if the next series is set in the years inbetween the end of the original trilogy and the beginning of the current one. There's an wopping decades-sized hole there waiting to be filled, and so far only the comics and novels tapped that gap.

Let there be no misunderstanding: I really like Ahsoka; she grew to become one of my favorite characters on Clone Wars, was totally invested in her story on that show and on Rebels, and I think she's one of the best things to happen to Star Wars in a long time. (All the more impressive considering her rocky start) But I really think she should have had a definitive, unambiguous death from Vader in that season 2 finale. I think the Shakespearian-esque tragedy of it would have fitting and amazing to see. Maybe I’m in the minority on this, but if they were going to have Ahsoka and Vader cross paths, I feel like there is only one way it could end. Their battle and the words exchanged was great (if a little short), but the way their duel ended was an unsatisfying cop-out in my opinion. So this hold promise beyond her character being an enjoyable one to follow for me. Maybe having Ahsoka live and return can lead to her having a rematch with Vader some day in the future, perhaps in a novel or comic. I don't think her dying by someone else's hand or of old age would be fitting or satisfying to her character and story arc. Former Master and Apprentice have to finish what they started on Malachor.

When they said he's been training, they weren't kidding. 17 might just be the strongest person living on Earth besides Goku, Vegeta, and maybe Buu.

I don't know, I think the new guy does a pretty good job all things considered.

I mean, NO ONE can do imitate Mako. Its fine, i get it.
But i dont think he even sounds close.
Also awful is new replacement for Iroh.

I think he does.
Greg Baldwin is the one who took over Mako's voice roles after he passed away, so Greg voices Iroh and Aku and he over all, I think, does a good job, considering the shoes he had to take over.

Re: Animation and Comics
I feel like hes consistently ALMOST there. But he cant quite match the cadence.
Re: Animation and Comics
yeah he's getting tone down right, but the way Mako had his voice come out, due to it being a second language. Japanese to English voices have this different cadance as Theo says and any English speaker just can't replicate it fully.
Re: Animation and Comics
I'm watching Duck Dodgers for the first time in the background. It's kinda fucked up.
The Martian Queen is heads over heels in love with the duck, and he's completely uninterested and says so to her face, repeatedly, while also being kinda stupid and an asshole in general. I'd expect the payoff to that dynamic to be hints of genuine affection at some point, or her moving on, but having just started the last season, she dumps Marvin, who actually loves her, at the altar to run back to Dodgers, who then insults her to her face. You'd think there'd be a single, positive quality for her to latch onto to keep this dynamic up, but there's nothin'. The protagonist is an awful man.
I'm not sure if that's the joke, or what, but it's weird.

Re: Animation and Comics
For anime fans I can heavily recommend Re:Creators, an anime which is has begun two weeks ago. The concept basically is "anime characters are becoming aware that their world is fictional and are coming to our world." A pretty original premise (for an anime, western media has dabbled into this in films like Last Action Hero) and the execution is very good so far. Also, it has a very good soundtrack.

Welcome to the club. Did you saw the original series only, or the movies? Because there's two movies that are the original series re-packaged with some improved animations, and then the Rebellion movie that is the first proper sequel and has both some of the biggest fuck yeah moments of Madoka Magica but also... yeaahhh... not gonna say what else...
Still yeah, one of my favorite "serious" anime.

I researched which to watch, because I saw all the variations on Netflix and such, but I found the 12 episode TV series on Crunchyroll and watched the sub. Just learned about 'Rebellion' and want to watch that right away. I think that's on Netflix.

Yes, the movies are on Netflix. Rebellion like I said is a very good and gorgeous looking movie... there is that one jaw-dropping thing that happens in it that makes me not want to watch it again and revisit only the first two movies or the original series, tho...
Just be prepared for everything.
