Bioware General (Mass Effect/Dragon Age/Other)
Re: Bioware General (Mass Effect/Dragon Age/Other)
That first novel to bridge the gap into Andromeda has been pushed back from August, obviously, to November.

Good lord, has there been ANY significant information revealed about the game? Like, at all?
Re: Bioware General (Mass Effect/Dragon Age/Other)
October? That's quite an early release.
Nothing really new, mostly stuff we deduced or were told already, plenty of stuff to read between the lines into. Still, nice to see some signs of life out of the team, this drought before the marketing blitz is rough.

Nothing that I know of. It's really weird too. I've never seen so much text convey so little information.

I don't know why I even bother trying to understand the idiots at EA when I've seen them kill off old games without hesitation over and over again in the past while hiding under the thin veil of artistic vision.

Re: Bioware General (Mass Effect/Dragon Age/Other)
Apparently a brief bit of gameplay was shown at Sonys conference today.
Strangely, it takes place in the Helios Cluster, which, to me, implies you start the game in our galaxy, and go to the new galaxy shortly after.
Helios Cluster is in our galaxy, right?

Wow, that was really underwhelming. Then again, I am never wowed by graphics these days because I know that the sense of wonder will last for about an hour or so and then I'll have gotten used to it and won't care about it anymore. Especially when it comes to background effects that I can't interact with.

Literally the only think that got a reaction out of me, at all, was the harmony at the end from ME1.
That will still get to me every once in a while.

Yeah, some of the music reminded me a bit of Vigil's theme.

I can already tell that they're going to push that asari HARD as the waifu. That stumbling animation? They may as well have put in a text bubble saying "SHES QUIRKY! AAHAHAHAHA!!"

So we're finding Vaults on various worlds and probably plundering the technology and artifacts within, no doubt unleashing some evil aliens in the process.
Those floating machines shooting lasers look like more combat-oriented Monitors from Halo.

That asari... I just realized. She is the new quarian. She's a quirky, nerdy young girl, her clothes hint at the fact she's some kind of a street-raised character, and she looks like the most out of place of the team, from what little we've seen of it so far.

Or she'll always get into trouble and they'll call that a potential bonding experience. Either way tells me that she's probably going to be too easy for my taste.

Re: Bioware General (Mass Effect/Dragon Age/Other)
Female turian or bust for me.
Re: Bioware General (Mass Effect/Dragon Age/Other)
Giving this video the benefit of the doubt green =/= synthesis.
I think it is more the tech colour for these monitor-like things.
Although I did hear some clicky-bug-like sounds that sounded close to Geth clicky sounds...
So...probably not but could be a new AI/synthetic species.
Gotta say this is giving me a little scratch to the exploratory bug.
And it does look okay graphically, wondering if they'll allow upgrading the graphics on PC in their construction.

I get the feels, too. My friend has borrowed my game for well over a year now and I'm just chomping at the bit to play another run-through.

I'm not too up to date on graphics, but they're making it for 4k, is 4k not the best out there right now?

Well, there are 8k resolution screens out there.

I meant that you could make sure the textures are great without the game running worse than a guy with a slug's legs.

Also. Belts for days.
Re: Bioware General (Mass Effect/Dragon Age/Other)
To clarify, Theo, the Helios Cluster is in Andromeda. It was outlined in that massive survey leak a year or two back that the game takes place in the Helios cluster.
Re: Bioware General (Mass Effect/Dragon Age/Other)
And I have to say I am getting BEYOND sick and tired of how Andromeda is shaping up to be pure style over substance. Like, in that snippet above there are A LOT of cool things. Omni-tool scanning, insane detail and graphics, ect.
But we're almost five years after ME3 and we still don't know anything about this story other than we're in Andromeda because.
Arrrgh.

Re: Bioware General (Mass Effect/Dragon Age/Other)
Pretty. Kicked the vid up to 4k, though my monitor can't go that high, but it looked fantastic. My bigger concern was gameplay, since huge, sweeping vistas with nothing to do in them are a concern these days, but this is a tech demonstration more than anything, and there was the scanning section, so eh.
Midriff with jacked buckled just above? Unique stumbling animation? That asari is special snowflake as fuck, so obviously a major NPC/romance option. I'll give her a chance though, since I'm fairly sure Sera was a one-time experiment.
So it looks really nice, the asari is probably going to be quirky, and there'll be scanning. Good to know.

Going to go into the Andromeda as blind as possible and keep my mind as fresh as I can
If I drag too much then it's going to interfere with my overall with the game. I wanna good game but who knows.

those floating alien things look like collector heads with tentacles at least that's what I think they look like.

The asari has a name attached to her. Cora.

The male and female Ryder siblings' father is the N7 guy from the first trailer.

that name have been floating around along with the Krogan name Draks (I think) for almost a year (I think) because of a leak that happened.
Cora could also be the woman standing next to Ryder.
Re: Bioware General (Mass Effect/Dragon Age/Other)
So far, unimpressed by what they've shown. Story is all that is important to me. Hell, I'd take a Zork adventure to what they've shown.
Don't get me wrong but, the story better be there or it's no joy for me.
P.S. That asari.... The clip of her reminds me of Oh So Many cartoons. You know, the ones with the 4 year old or younger getting excited and then put down. Old, slapstick comedy? Bioware, you were much better than this.
