Never played DnD, but if there's a way to organize and do it online with you folks, I'd gladly give it a shot, as long as it's in an orary that doesn't require me to stay awake all night to match other people's timezones. That's really my only big problem.

I have played DnD and I know of a few ways we can make things work, the only issue would be we would need to do VOIP. So Skype, Steam Chat, Discord or Roll20 voicechat.

Roll20 is a good as you can have maps and atmospheric music working to add atmosphere.
Skype and shared screens is a decent alternative.

I can get my hands on Pathfinder, DnD 5e and 3.5e rulebooks and character sheets from a friend of mine.

Frustrating day for me. Got the free SSD some guy online offered to me, but realized I didn't have a spare SATA cable. And of COURSE none of the physical stores around me sell them, so I gotta order it from Amazon, so I won't get it till Friday.

Do comprehensive parts stores even exist anymore? Outside of local places, I cannot think of any major chain that has a good range of products. Went to Staples or whatever the hell the place is called a few months back for a floor mat, and it looked like a bomb had gone off. They had 2 or 3 old video cards, some generic PCI network cards, and a ton of prebuilt systems and accessories, and that was about it.

On that note, when I bought my second SSD, I was short one SATA port, so I got a PCI card that adds a few more so I could have my DVD reader connected too. Odd that a SATA cable wouldn't be sold at retail though, that's...

Yeah, it was the first time in my life I wished Radioshack still existed, they would have it.

Only Bestbuy carried literally 1 12in cable, and my case is kinda big so that wouldn't work. Plus they wanted $10 for it. I'm getting a 3ft Sata 3 for $5 from Amazon.

Super excited though, I've never used an SSD before.

Using it as a boot disk/gaming? I run a small one for my Windows installation and important files, a larger second one for games, then a regular HD for mass storage.

Like, who decides what's controversial and hurful to sponsors? How long before bad reviews of movies and games are considered "bad for sponsors" and discouraged by making them non-profitable for content creators? What about news providers dealing with unpleasant or touchy topics? Or people making fun of religious propaganda? Just to make a few examples...

There's a ton of grey areas that WILL be exploited like mad, could be not as bad as some people are afraid of, but this is far from good news.

At the size you're talking, it shouldn't be an issue, but be watchful for programs using the SSD as the default drive, or space otherwise getting eaten up. I'm talking a couple dozen mystery GBs after 3 years, and there's probably a logical explanation stemming from oversight.

Though lately I've been thinking more about going back to college, the costs have gone up quite a bit at the school I attended, and FAFSA never gave me more than enough to pay tuition, whereas I'd need lodging (an apartment this time, fuck dorms) and food.

Tried to play Overwatch tonight, since the new patch and season are live. Managed 35% accuracy with Widow and exited the program after the match. Pretty clear sign my arms and mind are about done functioning for the day.

I made the mistake of taking that one online, and have received no guidance, no direction and was just told to prepare for a test on chapter 1 by the 6th. No idea what to study, what the test entails, or what to expect, just "Chapter 1 test" on a calendar.

At least its only Java, which, as i recall, is not that difficult.

First chapter was pretty damned basic, "What is Programming?" "What is syntax?" "What is psudocode?" (What is...love?) stuff like that.

No i haven't done hello world yet, but i'm not even sure how i'm supposed to make that happen when... I dont really know what any assignments are aside from "Chapter 1 test, September 6th."

For Java, odds are you're going to be asked to get Eclipse. That or this course just doesn't give a shit what you use, so you might as well get Eclipse.
