Dany's arc from literal child to budding Khaleesi is better than I remember (first book). A lot of it is. The way magic is explicitly juuuust beyond the curtain, with the first incontrovertible use of it being the ceremony to save Drogo. And then the way Joffrey's "voice" doesn't change at all from his charming prince act to the first time he shows his sociopathy to Sansa when he orders her to court and then to see her father's head. Tyrion, I'm finding less enjoyable, oddly enough. Everything is a joke from him, which is the point, but I found it more entertaining the last time I read it. Now that I know how it plays out, Tywin's inner conflict about him is much more clear in his actions, which is always a touch I appreciate, being able to reread something and notice new subtleties. And Jamie's very first act of valor, when ambushed by Robb at Riverrun, charging him and his bodyguard when the battle is lost, and very nearly succeeding.

Four books to go, heh. God I hope GRRM doesn't die with his magnum opus left unfinished.

BW Megatron IS confirmed to get a new figure too yes(sssss). Rumors currently are that the new beastformers figures will be mostly repaints and retools, but that they're gonna make some new figures that can work both as Primal and Megs and as other characters. Many are pointing out that thei're probably gonna do Apeface and Snapdragon molds (two G1 headmasters that transformed into a gorilla and a wingless dragon) and then retool them as the two BW leaders. Seems already confirmed that at the very least Hasbro won't be so lazy ot just make a purple Grimlock repaint and call it done.

Oh, it feels so good going through the entire week thinking "I think I'll do this and that during this weekend" just to get away from the monotony that is my job and then I pull a muscle in my left shoulder on the Friday.

I'll order a pizza and watch Zootopia on Netflix instead.

Pizza is delicious and Zootopia's a good movie. There are worse ways to convalesce.

"In June 2, 2016, Howard and Moore were in the talks about a possibility of a Zootopia sequel.[161][162][163] In the same month, Ginnifer Goodwin in an interview about challenges and ideas for Zootopia 2, she revealed that she expects to reprise her role as Judy Hopps in the sequel.[164] In May 2017, it was announced that the sequel was confirmed to be in the works and that Nick Wilde will possibly be a main character.[165] On July 10, 2017, Mark Smith stated he was reprising his role as Officer McHorn in a sequel.[166]"

As per Wikipedia, of course. So that's a big 10-4.

"Courage and honor. Courage and honor. Courage and honor. I hear you murmur these words in the mist. In their wake, I hear your hearts beat harder with false conviction, seeking to convince yourselves that a brave death has meaning. There is no courage to be found here, my nephews, no honor to be had. Your souls will join the trillion others in the mist, shrieking uselessly into eternity, weeping for the empire you could not save. To the unfaithful, I bring holy plagues ripe with enlightenment. To the devout, I bring the blessing of immortality through the kiss of Sacred Rot. And to you, newborn sons of Guilliman, to you flesh-crafted puppets of a failing Imperium, I bring the holiest gift of all… Silence."

Funnily enough, I did a good few TW campaigns, but I never actually played the Empire. I suspect I'll do the same with the High Elves. But I'm not sure if I'll run Skaven first, because their lineup is so damn cool, or Lizardmen, because they're so interesting in and of themselves.

Suppose it doesn't matter, but I'm impressed with how this planned trilogy is working out.

Psuedo-political, since it touches on Gamergate from a few years back, but largely about the current state of "indie" games versus "true gamers." I found it interesting, as I wasn't a giant nerd until well into my teen years, so I missed the old school classics and culture.

The Fate of Konor: Imperial Victory!

Celebrate 30 Years of Warhammer 40,000: Top 5 Rivals

Celebrate 30 Years of Warhammer 40,000: Top 5 Explorers

Celebrate 30 Years of Warhammer 40,000: Top 5 Squigs

Celebrate 30 Years of Warhammer 40,000: Top 5 Mutations

Celebrate 30 Years of Warhammer 40,000: Top 5 Catastrophes *

* I feel like any 40k Catastrophe list should include The War in Heaven. You got the C’tan gaining physical forms, the creation of the Eldar and Orks, the extinction of the Old Ones, the fall of the Necrontyr and the rise of the Necrons, the first true Warp storms, the Enslaver invasion, and all the turmoil of the conflict reflected in the Warp and ignited the flame of Chaos that would later be nurtured to maturity by the emotions and deeds of humans and Eldar. The Horus Heresy shaped the present setting of 40k, but the War in Heaven shaped the setting itself, its very foundations, and laid the groundwork of almost all the horror to come.

* "Think that the rise of the T’au rivals the arrival of the Tyranids in terribleness?" Hahahaha. That's funny. The Tyranids will eat the Tau for a snack on the way to meatier targets!

Basically the PotP lines is made of two sub-groups... we get the big Primes figures and teh smaller "power packs" that fit in them ala Matrix of Leadership, and an whole bunch of new figures you can make combiners of... so far confirmed the Dinobots, Predaking (the G1 combiner, not the TF:P dragon) and is strongly suggested Abominus. But there's also some new non-beastformers, like a Starscream that can be a combiner chest, and a few more obscure characters like G1 Dreadwing and Moonracer (the aquamarine repaint of G1 Arcee) that can form limbs. And it's also all combatible from the figures of the previous 2 lines (Combiner Wars and Titans Return) making for one big line of collectibles.

Oh, and as for the Primes... for now it's confirmed 3 big figures: an Hot Rod that turns into Rodimus Prime, an Orion Pax that becoms Optimus Prime and a Transmetal Optimus Primal that becomes "Optimal" Optimus Primal. Also it's been shown concept art to make a a figure that goes from Megatronus Prime to the Fallen.

Okay....maybe it won't suck entirely...

I mean the line of them having a core would be cool if done right and if you can swap cores. Like the Megatronia and Sky Lynx ones.
O, actually Sky Lynx might be a fit.

EDIT: a shame I don't have anywhere to put them as I'd get them.
Shame they're too big.
I'd like to see a class of toy/figure between the Legends and Deluxe size so you get the best of both worlds, small enough to not be a clutter and big enough to not be an unrecognizable lump of plastic in the robot mode or a kibble-fest.
The activators were a good size but has a terrible gimmick which made them..well, shit.

The "cores" basically are a mix of the Titans Masters/Headmasters from the Titans Return line, and the G1 Pretenders. Aka you get a power core meant to rapresent this or that artifact of the Primes, that gets hidden in a robotic shell, when not put inside one of the bigger figure. And yes, the combinable robots like I said are compatible with each other and the Combier Wars figures, so you can swap them around as you wish.

There's actually a few unofficial but well made lines of "pocket size" Transformers... originally they were meant to be displayed on giant official figures like the FoC Metroplex from a few years ago, but they just became popular enough to continue to this day. As all 3rd party figures tho thei're abit pricy. The Iron Factory ones are among the most popular:

There's also some small and very well made official figures, but thei're not transformable and have chibi-like proportions.

Urgh, the G1 Pretenders are back?
That's one thing I _hated_ out of the line as they didn't look like Transformers at all.
Yeah, them being in disguise to not be themselves is fine, but to not look like Transformers/Cybertronians?

Yes and no... thei're called "PrimeMasters" and include the tiny robot that forms the power core, and a bigger "shell" that turns into a legend-size 'bot based on the G1 pretenders, and also in a weapon for the bigger figures to use:

I do own a few 3rd party myself. Thei're pricy, but they're also pretty much the best figures I've got at the moment. It's not something one can get on a super-regular basis, but if you stick to only one series, given that most releases are several months apart, it's manageable. It's catching up with an already existing series that gets painful.

I tried a couple times. Didn't work quite well, but I'm gonna give another shot, eventually. Honestly, most figures don't even need radical paint-jobs... usually you can get terrific result treating them like Gundam figures and highlighting the sculpt's details and adding minor color highlights and/or stickers.

I personally stick to a few and those few are even in a drawer. :D
I wouldn't mind a nice jet-former on the smaller side of things.
I mean the latest Skywarp was nice but still a little "plane on top with kibble-undercarriage" for my liking.

I honestly don't know how/where to keep up on the lines, I go by what is in the shop or what I can get off amazon (only reputable store I know that is decent in stock).

Also if you haven't already go check out Thew's Transformer's reviews.
I'll leave his latest "ten shots, ten bots" here as enticement; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=27um29OcTXI&t=2754s

Yeah, think Thew and EmGo are my two favorites when it comes to TF reviews. Thei're the two that seems to have the most fun with it.

As for me, I'm kinda having this mad idea of getting me the Combiner Wars Bruticus and try to customize that. Mostly some hardware improvements using Shapeways bits (the Brawl in that set is sooooo bad) and then details enhanment like in that Ultra Magnus I posted as an example. I do need to come back to my Tyranids too tho, so we'll see what modeling project gets the better of me first.

I did try that kind of enhancements on a smaller figure, using just a thin tip ink pen and a mechanical pencil with some soft graphite tip. It's abit of a boring procedure, but it's very easy to pull out.

Had a strange thing happen to me this morning (and it just happened right now as I'm typing this). Woke up because it was warm and my ceiling fan was making a strange noise. It was on and spinning, I heard it and could see the blades moving, but when I raised my hands to feel the air I didn't feel anything. I stood there for a moment to make sure and no air was moving. I pulled the string to turn it off and when it stopped moving I turned it back on. Then the air started moving. What the hell happened? Can air get stuck?

Um. I can think of theoretical scenarios where the air wouldn't reach you, but lacking details, I must conclude a ghost was hovering over you.

Well. Utah, Oklahoma, Wyoming, Texas, New York, Massachusetts, and Virginia. You guys ain't all bad.

California, you were my home only briefly, but I loved it, and you are dead wrong about Chick-fil-A.

I don't mind cold pizza. I prefer it hot, but if there are leftovers from the day before, I'll bite into that. Certainly better than (c)old pasta.

How can someone hate dim sum? It's like hating snack.

To be fair all I have ever ordered from a chinese take-out is chowmeins, and usually ones not involving seafood.

For living on an island nation I am not really a big fan of trying seafoods. I have yet to have shrimp, crab, lobster, prawns, and basically anything that isn't cod, haddock, plaice and fresh salmon (once because that shit is expensive).
Mind you I am also of a mindset of "if I am having it for the first time I am having it fresh and properly.

But on the DimSum/take-out side of things I am just all "I am paying for this meal and I have no opportunity for anything else, if I don't like this I go hungry, so I better get something I know I like."
