He made a few good points. Most of these kids weren't even alive or were crapping their pants as babies when this happened but that's besides the point here and the freedom of speech gives them the right to form and voice their opinions but not the right to be complete assholes to people who lost loved ones and family. It's not about politics or policy and yes I am also fully aware of the measures the US took after the fact and the loss of life it also caused. I can go on and on but ultimately there is no right answer in my opinion but what your gut and soul says.

Innocent loss of life is a horrible thing, no matter what the situations may be but pissing over a memorial of the dead is a line of disrespect I cannot stand. The act shown here is disgusting. Let the living morn the dead and please shut the fuck up during that moment of silence. The dead didn't kill innocent people.

The worst part of this is that people like this do this for themselves and not to spread actual knowledge and reality. Selfish hypocrisy.

That's what it comes down to for me. Yes, it'd be nice if everyone was thoughtful and considerate of others, but if someone wants to be an asshole, then so long as they're not infringing on the rights of others, by all means. Let people punish you socially for your actions, but nothing more.

That's why I really dislike the whole idea of narcing on someone's behavior to their employer to get them fired. It's skeezy, like a grownup version of tattling to teacher because Jimmy said 'crap' during recess, and you're ruining someone's livelihood. Plus it gives employers a huge amount of de facto power over their employees if people have to curtail their personal life and opinions so they don't potentially upset their boss. That's ridiculous.

My point being, people sure do enjoy being the biggest problem for other people, huh?

And I've lived in the heart of the South, the heart of limousine liberals, and now the working class enclave of NJ. You'll survive. Probably. Though I don't talk about my beliefs mostly because I don't care what the people I'm around have to say about them, so I fly under the radar.

I blame religion and people being taught to be so ashamed of the human form. Do women need to look like old maids or Catholic Nuns to teach these days without someone being offended? I'm a 40 year old parent and I could give a shit less...as long as he or she isn't teaching school children half naked and being a complete moron then let the women be. Man I tell you SJW and all these people whining about this and that these days have sucked the care right out of me. It's not just politics that's gonna ruin America, it's this excessive need to bitch about EVERYTHING.

CostCo is too tempting for its own good. "50 little neck clams for $20? That's a good deal..." "Oooh, big bag of frozen, raw chicken wings and legs for only $20!"

Ended up restraining myself and only getting a big tray of chicken alfredo, some sponges, lobster bisque, octopus, frying oil, and water. Plus two hotdogs at the little snackbar. But the temptation was strong. Maybe for my (upcoming) birthday I'll be a stupid idiot and spend a lot of money.

Also picked up a 4 pack of Guinness, as per the cooking thread. I have high hopes on that one.

Maybe they proposed a cabinet that can stand on its own, while being packaged with every nut and bolt required to assemble it.

Lady Maria, from Bloodborne. It's not my drawing, mind you.

I like how the art style completely undermines her rather dark and disturbing character.

Ah, of course. If IKEA can't sell their excessive supplies of nuts and bolts, they'll be ruined.

Also, the "new" Metal Gear game is shaping up to be as generic as I thought it'd be.

Apparently there was a Marine 5k run in NJ scheduled for today, but someone planted a pipebomb in a trashcan along the route that went off. Thankfully no one was hurt, race canceled, but more devices that were wired to the pipebomb that failed to detonate were found.

Yeah. If Assange's October Surprise is legit, that should put a pin in this election, for better or worse. Though it's possible, if not somewhat likely, that pollsters are off by a significant margin either way given the weirdness of this cycle. There's no getting off Mr. America's Wild Ride.

Hypothetical question: You work in fast food. During a lunch rush, one of your coworker's shift ends while he's in the middle of taking an order, and there's no one free to take over for him right away. This leads to a loss of revenue from angry customers. How far up the chain of command, starting with the coworker, would you ascribe responsibility for this?

Well, leaving in the middle of taking an order, whether its the end of your shift or not, its highly unprofessional. I would blame the coworker on that.

However if its a matter of there not being enough people to manage that many customers, thats when i start blaming the people in charge of who gets hired, and when.

There was also an explosion in NYC and a shooting in the Crossroads Mall in St. Cloud, MN.

I'd need to know more before blaming anyone further up the chain. Was everyone who was supposed to be in that day there? Was the lunch rush more crowded than normal? Things like that.

At the lowest level the worker should hold on long enough for someone to become free to replace him. At the highest level the managment should make sure that they have enough staff to handle expected traffic.

But there are times when things will be FAR busier than expected and people end up swamped anyway.

The coworker. I had similar situations like that while I was working at the postal terminal, but me and my team wasn't allowed to leave until either things simmered down or the team that's working the shift after ours started to drop in and could take our place. At least, it was frowned upon, since you'd leave the other team with a shit ton of work or halt production.

Also, that'd be like if my shift ended and I just left my loaded forklift in the middle of the hallway. Not only would the guys working the shift after mine get mad because I misplaced a forklift which they'd now have to find, but I'd probably get lip from my manager because I didn't place the cargo where it was supposed to go to, which in its turn would cause delays. Then there's the fact that I'd leave the truck driver (who's most likely on a pretty tight schedule) waiting for that last batch of mail.

In short, I'd piss everyone off with a stunt like that.

If there aren't enough people to fill up the empty spots, then it's the manager's fault for not taking in extra people or rearranging schedules. It might vary from job to job, though, since we'd get notes about delays and the amount of arriving mail in advance so things like this wouldn't happen.
