I tried to be productive today. It didn't work. On the plus side, my upper back is entirely wracked with muscle soreness, so doing rows one night, followed by deadlifts the next, seems to be key for that.
Re: Tali'Thread vas Clan Zorah nar BSN 6.0
And so it begins. Happy Halloween! OoooOooOOOh

Re: Tali'Thread vas Clan Zorah nar BSN 6.0

May you all have an fun All Hallows' Eve, my fellow Children of the Night.
Carve yourselves a jack-o-lantern and get a horror movie marathon ready. Safe travels if you're heading to a party or enjoying the neighborhood decorations. Don't get sick eating your favorite candies. And if you're expecting trick-or-treaters, don't be the asshole who hands out carrots or celery on Halloween night.

If this doesn't show people what a sad state the industry is in, where a free-to-play game is more consumer-friendly than most big game companies, I don't know what will.

Would decaf fill in for you?
Re: Tali'Thread vas Clan Zorah nar BSN 6.0
No coffee at all, test of willpower. But I'll have a diet soda or whatever as needed, gotta be able to perform at work. First week will suck, but after that, should be smooth sailing. I know some people get super bad caffeine withdrawal, but I can't imagine I will.

For me, it felt like my brain was in one of those lottery ball wheels for about three days straight. Couldn't walk up or down steps without it rattling around.

Oh boy! And I just ran out of ibuprofen too.
On the plus side, this huge bag of dried plums I got for $7 are quite tasty.

Aren't they just "prunes"?

Yes, but "dried plums" makes me sound less like a 90 year old.

Worf drinks prune juice.
Makes you sound less like an honourable warrior to me.

Hm. So far, mild headache, took care of that with Alleve. Otherwise, slight drowsiness and sluggishness, but otherwise fine. Given I was drinking the equivalent of 5-6 cups of coffee a day, I was expecting more.
Tyranids: Something I've never been clear on, but when a "tendril" of a hive fleet is beaten...isn't that just the tip of the tendril, and the entire rest of it would still be floating around, freely?

It varies, depending on the situation. After a main "tip" is destroyed, the rest of the "tendril" sometimes just goes hunting elsewhere, preferring an easier meal, and will come back to that place later. Sometimes it pauses to asses the level of resistance against it, and then throws another wave at it with a new tactic and more numbers, ad infinitum, until the target is overwhelmed or the tendril runs out of bodies. Sometimes it breaks up into a multitude of many small fleets that scatter in many directions, causing it's enemies to divide their forces. Sometimes it goes off and cannibalizes another 'Nid fleet, to absorb its unique genetic advantages so it can come back stronger and with a vengeance. Sometimes it rejoins the fleet it originally branched off from.
Speaking of the 'Nids…
"The brand new Space Marine Conquests series begins with ‘The Devastation of Baal’, in which Guy Haley tells the full story of the tyranid invasion of the Blood Angels’ home world, as hinted at in the Warhammer 40,000 rulebook."
"Baal is besieged! The alien horror of Hive Fleet Leviathan has reached the Blood Angels home world, and their entire existence is under threat. As the sons of Sanguinius gather, the battle for the fate of their bloodline begins…"
"READ IT BECAUSE it's one of the key events in the build-up to the new Warhammer 40,000 background (and it's been years in the making!) and it's an epic tale of triumph and tragedy, heroism and sacrifice, and sets the scene for the future of the Blood Angels – if they have one."
"The Blood Angels Chapter of Space Marines is under threat. Having obliterated all human life in the Red Scar region of space, the largest tendril of Hivefleet Leviathan ever seen in the Imperium has converged and is making relentlessly for Baal. To face this awesome foe, Commander Dante has called upon the Successor Chapters of the ancient Ninth Legion. The Sons of Sanguinius gather in numbers not seen since the dark days of the Horus Heresy. Thirty thousand Space Marines stand ready to thwart the Great Devourer, save the homeworld of their primarch, and prevent the consumption of billions in the Ultima Segmentum beyond. But the tyranid swarm numbers in the trillions, and they are not the only danger to the Chapter’s future. As the galaxy slides toward a terrifying new era, events far away threaten to unleash a greater evil. A further enemy must also be overcome, that of the Black Rage that lurks in the souls of all Sanguinius’s bloodline. Written by Guy Haley."

So now we get the full story. And a real detailed depiction of what happened when, at the eleventh hour, half of the Tyranid Hivefleet apparently got sucked into the Warp when the Great Rift was formed and slaughtered by Chaos Daemons led by the Bloodthirster Ka'Bandha, the ancient nemesis of the Blood Angels, allowing Guilliman's forces to arrive in time and save the day against a much weakened Hivefleet.

This takes me back.
There were so many dinosaur books in my local library growing up. It was a dino paradise for me. Many of them were no longer accurate, even back then, but the illustrations in them were magnificent and helped light my imagination and curiosity and inspired many a drawing session. And then when Jurassic Park came out, there were so many awesome dinosaur books everywhere. Ah, those were the days.

"It is truly a strange thing when a steam pipe bursts under an abandoned building in the dead of winter, but that’s exactly what happened under the Clinic Building at Greystone Park State Hospital in 2007, a month before the building was unceremoniously knocked down. The steam congregated near the ceiling of the abandoned asylum infirmary, condensing on the pipes and dripping down in regular patterns - and creating these ice stalagmites."

Whelp. Either she's a raid boss, or she's about to get 100% sexier.

4chan seems to do that. But it's an excerpt from the new WoW story they're giving out at Blizzcon. Sylvannas is talking to Big Dick Nathanos about how the next war is going to be to take Stormwind.

1. Who's Nathanos again?
2. So while everyone is busy trying to defeat Sargeras and his Burning Legion, which would save the entire freaking physical universe, the Horde is going to stab the Alliance in the back?

Dragaros wrote:1. Who's Nathanos again?

1. He was the first human ranger, trained by the elves. He became undead, then was a quest-giver for the Horde in the Eastern Plaguelands and a mini-raid for the Alliance. Lore-wise, the Windrunner sisters apparently have a human dick addiction, because Sylvanas (when alive) was apparently real close to him. And then he became a Forsaken, yada yada, fakes his death to make the quest lore still work, Sylvanas gets him a fresh body by putting his soul into his nephew's (This kills the nephew), he becomes her strong right hand, and they probably have creepy undead sex all the time.
2. The final raid is going to end with Sarg getting trapped in a super-duper magic prison with the rest of the revived titans, and Illidain as the jailor, but he manages to stab Azeroth, in Silithus, with his giant sword before going down. Which obviously should lead into "Holy shit Azeroth's raw titan blood is flowing _right into_ Ahn'Qiraj an also the other Old God is still making moves in the ocean." But the Legion is effectively defeated, as the demons can no longer regenerate and their leader is gone. In that context, Sylvanas is saying she wants to let people enjoy peace for a few years...and then attack Stormwind.
