Still have no clue what is wrong with my computer. The screen just goes completely black (or another color) after a minute or so after behaving fine when I start it up. I have downloaded the drivers for the graphics card again, but that didn't work. I don't even know if it's a physical problem and I have no idea what to do. Can someone help?

Edit: I've noticed that the screen goes black or turns into a certain color when I try to do things like starting Chrome if that's narrowing it down. I think my graphics card is trying to start, but something's wrong.

The screen turns black out of nowhere and everything becomes nonresponsive. The computer stops working too. Not as in it hangs or crashes, but rather just sits there and does nothing. No error or anything, the screen just goes black or some random solid color like blue or brown and then I'm forced to shut it down by pressing down the power button. I tried reinstalling the graphics drivers in safe mode, but that only made it worse. Now I can't even get past the log in screen for my computer account. Currently running a memory diagnostics tool.

If the problem persists, I'll call the guys who put my computer together and try to make them check it through one of those remote diagnostic services. I really don't want to ship it back to them, as that'd take weeks.

I've read on Nvidia's (yeah, I'm stupid for using Nvidia, blah blah) forum that some people are getting unresponsive black screens when starting a game. I wonder if my system is skipping the middleman and going straight for the problem. Then again, I didn't have this problem before installing the new fan. Computers are weird, man. Should have bought a Switch while I had the chance too. Typing this on my tablet and it's killing my neck.

Sounds like the GPU is dying, or your PSU isn't sufficient, or the vid card isn't slotted properly, or overheating. Take your pick. But I wouldn't fuck around with figuring out which.

How's that even possible, though?

All I did was switch to a front fan which is identical in specs to the one I had and my GPU was working just fine before that. Is there a way to tell for certain without having to pull everything apart?

Because I doubt it's my graphics card crapping out. Thing's not even a year old and I refuse to believe that it's yet another "defective" one as I've had similar problems in the past. I also have a 1000W PSU, so I doubt it's not getting enough juice. I can also detect my GPU in the device manager if I uninstall its drivers.

I also don't want to send it to the shop, because they'll probably just get it working for a while, write it off, send it back to me and then it happens again after a few days. That has also happened in the past and that's one of the reasons why I want to do it by myself. Feels like I don't get a chance or say when it comes to my own stuff, you know?

I had something similar happen to me earlier this year and it sucked, I didn't lose any files from the computer itself, but I did lose all my boomarks I made that year or so on google chrome for some reason, pretty annoying.

@Rune: I think touch controls are sorta limited by the medium, being human fingers. Too clumsy and variable in size to hit really fine points on a screen. And by that I mean I'm waiting on neural-plugs for true virtual reality gaming and also dystopian hells. But think of the games!

The thing is that the computer is still covered by warranty (still not completely sure that it's the graphics card that's acting up), but then I have to send the graphics card somewhere with the mail and that'll take time.

Sure, I could buy a new and better graphics card, but that's still a lot of money.

Edit: While I was buying stuff to prep for the repair of my PC, I thought that I'm going to get rather bored with just sitting in front of the tablet for hours, so I bought a Switch with Breath of the Wild.

Yeah, my confidence is rather low, considering that doing something as simple as switching a fan by myself caused all this. I'm tempted to send it in for an inspection and if the card proves to be faulty, I can send it back to the guys who built the computer for a refund while getting a better one (thinking about stepping up to the ti version if possible) and then have the same shop I turned in my PC to install it for me.
