Man it's nice to see some fucking character focus in the Horde one, even if it's fairly limited. Saurfang is best fang, as always, and I'm oddly enamored with Sylvanas as Warchief, assuming she doesn't do some bullshit, "I don't care about you" arc. But here's the setup for World War Azeroth.

But I do think some of the claims that this game is subtle and deep and so on are really more accurately "this game is just vague masquerading as inscrutable."

Sounds like the more apt and shorter description would be "pretentious".

No wonder so many edgelords kept crowing about it on the old-old BioWare forum during Mass Effect 2's heydays. Probably kept thinking that a story being convoluted, complex and characters having so many layers when they sound more like a collection of unrelated quirks are the ingredients to a masterpiece.

EA and Bungie seem to be competing for how fast and how much they can piss off the fans of their IPs and shooting themselves in the foot these days.

If I was to make a prediction, I'm probably going to imagine a Colonia Marines-focused game ('cause that worked sooooo well last time) where your Sulaco equivalent is the main hub and you get a handful of worlds to patrol. And there's gonna be 3 main enemy factions which will be WY mercenaries, xenomorphs and neomorphs + others black goo abominations. Because most of these kind of games run on a 3 enemy factions basis. Probably no driveable vehicles, because there's not that many of those in the Alien movies. Alien Queen, Engineers and a weaponized equivalent of the Power Loader will be boss characters, plus some new uber-monster because videogames. The movie characters will be uber rare skins hidden behind loot drops. The Predators will not be ingame at launch, but they'll show up a few months later, once the game starts bleeding out players.

And this would be my best case scenario. Worst case scenario is CoD Infinity Warfare mixed with Destiny and with Aliens.

Its a spectacular game. Elaborating too much will ruin the story, but the game is not what you think it will be.

Basically I like games that play with your expectations of what a Videogame can be.

So Overwatch League has had a decent start, 120-150k viewers on average now. But the skill disparity is stark, so matches tend to be 4-0 stomps, and by the last round, the losing team is so demoralized it's pathetic, they're nearly crying sometimes. Tonight was like that.

But for the last match, my boys, the LA Gladiators against the Philly Fusion. Starts bad, 0-2 for the Glads, seems over, but then, somehow, a great match appears. Recommend watching it if any of you guys are into competitive OW at all.

@Horizon: Zero Dawn stuff

Best looking non PC game I've ever played. I have really mixed feelings about it. It's definitely an example of a game that's like 50% bigger than it needs to be. Archer is one of my preferred styles when I have a choice anyway and it controls well, but Aloy is kind of nerfed to a somewhat obnoxious degree in terms of damage. Also the sheer number of machinse is pretty annoying when you just want to get from Point A to Point B without fighting a mecha T-Rex every 500 feet. Characters and story are good. Overall I'm looking forward to the sequel.

People feel nightborne should be with the alliance more or less. But they showed why in a little scene but I feel thats only just gonna make people on alliance hate tyrande more.
