Re: Tali'Thread vas Clan Zorah nar BSN 6.0
I cant fucking believe that the same company that made Bloodborne also made Dark Souls 3.
Dark Souls 3 is just utter horse-shit compared to Dark Souls 1 and 2, let alone the masterpiece that is Bloodborne. Its like they wanted to make the hardest one in the series, but just added a bunch of absurdly cheap things to add the difficulty. Every enemy in this game is more aggressive than the most aggressive boss in Dark Souls 1 and 2.
Thats fine in a game like Bloodborne, where you move like a cheetah, but the PC in DS3 still moves like hes in 800 pounds of metal regardless of your armor, and gets staggered like he's someones grandmother.

That's something I utterly hate in games in general. When a simple tap tosses the PC into a minute long spastic seizure over and over again. Not to mention that it looks stupid.

"Toxic" is quickly becoming the worst word of the year. Moral authoritarians tend to stay hip with the lingo, ya dig, holmes?

Now that PS4s are below $300, I'm starting to feel like I should get one. Though I'm hard up for power outlets in this room, and I'd need at least 2 to run my spare monitor and the PS4. Bloodborne, Persona 5, some other weeb shit, etc. Tempting, and this work season looks like it'll be real busy.
That said, DS3 struck me as sorta awkward. Tried to be more like Bloodborne in mechanics, but also retaining the weight of Dark Souls, and while it was smoother than the other DS, I liked the more deliberate pace they had. A huge, slow, tanky character works fine when you can reasonably predict the enemy before it swings, random cluster attacks, less so. I enjoyed it though, but I'm in no rush to play it again, and I didn't get the DLC, whereas I beat DS2 over half a dozen times.
Re: Tali'Thread vas Clan Zorah nar BSN 6.0
Finished Witcher 2. The last half of the game was by far the best (and also the best part of the series I've played so far). Actually replayed the last 3ish hours several different ways just to see what the different endings were. At the height of it, my enjoyment level probably got to like a 8.5 where it had been cresting at like 7.0 previously. I started Witcher 3 last night and it's too soon for any meaningful opinion other than the game looks great but they made the controls way more sticky than the 2nd one which I don't like.
I also realized one of the things that had been bugging me about the whole series which I couldn't quite articulate. The memory loss thing means I don't remember any of these people who are supposedly my best friends ever: Zoltan, Dandelion, Triss, et al which means the player and Geralt himself has like 0 reason to feel any particular connection to them. And yet the game just consistently treats it as a given that they are totally my best friends and why would it ever be otherwise? I've spent 2 games now waiting for Triss in particular to develop anything like an actual personality that would justify the level of feels the game desperately wants me to have for her and I'm still at a complete blank. I got more out of the relationship with Ves which consists of like 5 conversations in 1/2 of one game and just kept thinking "geez, why can't I dump stupid sorcerer chick for you?" I also found Roche way more interesting and engaging than Zoltan or Dandelion in the "friends" department.
Less of an issue but still an issue: the game *really* wants me to care about the independence of the North from Nilfgaard and provides 0 reason why I should. Why would I give two shits if some crappy, rapey, warmongering Northern monarchs are replaced by 1 crappy, rapey, warmongering Southern one? Who freaking cares?
I actually do like Geralt himself though. The fact he is a set character doesn't get in the way very much because he almost never says overtly stupid things. (I'm looking at you, ME3 autodialog Shepard!)
TLDR: Geralt's default hangers-on mostly suck and I wish you could get rid of them.

Not gonna lie, I kinda want this game just to see Cell roasting EVERYONE!
Re: Tali'Thread vas Clan Zorah nar BSN 6.0
"Number 7: Never blame the controls."
I'm sorry, but....what?
If something is designed poorly and there is no option to make it better that is no fault on the user. That's like a knife where it has a blade where the handle should be! "Part of the journey" my arse. If something is wrong mechanically then it's only right to call it out as bad. Sounds like just another thing to put in the "clunk" section of the description and to acknowledge it's just bad but there is no other option.

Smoked, garlic summer sausage with cheddar on a fancy cracker, mmm.
Might've ODed on protein today, well over 100g. My muscles are going to be too fed. This is dangerous, I might actually put on some _mass_.
Seems like it's going to be a busy work year. Off season's over and it's mid-late fucking January. Normally I get to February before the calls come in. Though it has to be interior at least, way too cold for exterior, but still.

Ah, to have seasonal work. Sure beats doing exactly the same thing...every day...at exactly the same time...at the same place...with the same people...who tell the same jokes.
Re: Tali'Thread vas Clan Zorah nar BSN 6.0

Bulma doesn't need a high power level to be badass.

How does it feel, Nappa?! How does it feel?!

Don't think too hard, Goku. You'll hurt your head.

The 18-Krillin feels are strong in this one.

Re: Tali'Thread vas Clan Zorah nar BSN 6.0
I'm still having this major issue with my computer. I'll turn it on and the audio won't work. Everything sounds distorted and is playing at 1/2 speed or slower. I'll turn the pc off and on a couple times (Because when I restart from my menu it won't reboot) and finally when I see the windows 10 logon picture (like a log on screen only I set it up so I don't have to log on, the picture shows up for a second then goes to my desktop) show up I know the audio is going to work correctly. I've run update after update for windows and my audio card and this is still happening.
Is taking everything off my computer and re-starting it from scratch and re-installing everything my best solution here?

A more skilled technician could probably really dig in and figure this issue out, but considering re-installing is free?
Yeah.
Just back up what you need. You may not even need to lose all yoru data anyway, I think sometimes you can reinstall windows without losing your data. But its worth being safe.

They are doing a very good job of selling me on this game...
But i cant buy a fighting game day one. There will be a version next year that has everything included post release, and its just not worth paying for it now.

It's even worse when the work is affected by the seasons. It got stupid cold where I worked last week. My hands started bleeding and everything.

I mean, you assuredly make multiple times what I do, and have your own place. The tradeoff is I work less days, full 8 hours is pretty uncommon even when there's a multi-day job because of bottlenecks. Always some new place, new people, plenty of fresh air in the warmer months, homeowners tend to be real fucking respectful for obvious reasons.
If the job was less stressful on my body and I made enough money to live on my own comfortably, I'd be happy to stay in it.

Well, california taxes and cost of living aside, I do struggle for comfort. I made some good financial decisions and found some great deals. Rent is 1200 to 1500 a month in my area which is more than I can handle and that's cheap for my county.
Anyways, I've always had something stable and having something like a job where work comes and goes and it's different day by day, month by month really sounds exciting from my angle. Years can pass by at my job and you wouldn't know it because every day is exactly the same.

Battlefleet Gothic Armada got a sequel! Main campaign based on the Gathering Storm series (aka the Fall of Cadia and return of Guillamon storyarc) but Necrons and Tyranids will be playable too!
Hopefully this will help wash away the bitter taste Dawn of War 3 left in my mouth...

That's just the feeling of putting most of your EXP into your wisdom stat.
Happy birthday.
