Re: Tali'Thread vas Clan Zorah nar BSN 6.0
I finished Uncharted. It only took one weekend. Super fun. If I were a young lad who only had a few choices in games and this was one of them I'd replay it over and over and over. I'll play the other three and some time in the future if I ever feel an itch I'll take another stab at this.

I tend to prefer the DAI method of some bi, some gay, some straight. Otherwise, I want unapologetically playersexual where it's basically like "there are parallel universes and in this one Anders is gay and in this one he's straight." Having a party full of like 80% actually bisexual people is just ridiculous to me. I actually also prefer that there is racegating. "Everybody's pansexual" is particularly inane.
I'm still replaying POE1 (just finished Heritage Hill last night so I'm like 33% done) so I have yet to see implementation in POE2. We'll see how it goes.

Also, is it just me or does POE have really bland, monotonous music? I have taken to turning it off and just playing my own. (I drove Theo crazy by playing like 7 hours of frenetic Irish folk music yesterday with frenzied flute and fiddle playing which made an appropriate backdrop).

The stupid post office apparently lost about $50 worth of packages. They marked them as "delivered" but I never got them. Next door neighbor checked their cameras and said none were ever dropped off.
They have an "investigation" open but I'm really not holding my breath because their stupid system says they delivered them and they will probably stick with that. They probably took them to the wrong address.

Hm. To rank it...
1) Unique, restrictive - Everyone has their own, personal sense of attraction, and it can be unfairly arbitrary, because how that's people are. I agree with Josh Sawyer in his criticism that western romance systems in games are too goal orientated, say the right thing at junction 1, 2, and 3, get the sex scene, you win the character's love.
2) General spread - Few straight options per PC gender, a gay, a bisexual, everybody gets at least 1, heterosexuals get the most. The old Bioware model. The intent is obvious, you can tell there was a checklist at some point during planning, and it detracts from the immersion, but it's slight.
3) Justified rampant bisexuality - Everyone more or less expresses clear attraction to either gender in dialogue, and the PC's relationship is acknowledged for the kind of coupling it is with them. The setting supports this behavior, either as biological or cultural. The samurai system, for example.
4) Playersexuality - Gender is irrelevant or not mentioned, only who or what the player is to them. Asari model.
5) Unjustified bisexuality - The characters lack clear preferences or agency, and the player is not a particularly soul-changing aspect of their life. Akin to brothel NPCs who give resting buffs (The geriatric in Pillars 2 gives a very nice one.)
I have no recollection of any Pillars 1 music, so you may have a point. Pillars 2 has sea shanties, which is clearly superior. Also play the Irish folk music again, it's good for him. Culture!

I'll start it up real soon. Sometime this week. Have to take care of internship emails first.
How long is the tutorial? Could I play for an hour or two at a time?

It sort of depends on what you count as "tutorial". If you mean from the moment you hit start to the moment you have full control over every aspect of your days, its about 10 to 12 hours. But I go really slow with RPGs.
Apparently people find it strange that a Mass Effect 2 playthrough is about 40 hours for me. i cant imagine how you could do it any faster without skipping quests and dialog.

About the same, 50 hours or so for me. But I'm usually spending most of the time getting my ass handed to me on insanity. Same for Halo, on legendary I'm averaging about 3 hours per mission.
I'll put the disk in tonight and run any updates.

Oh god, I have a project for my course I haven't even started yet and it's only two weeks left. I have no idea what to do, because whatever I think up is either too ambitious or just lame. I really hate when teachers give me one of those lame "Just make whatever holds you dear!" assignments because I don't have anything that stands out and the few things I can think of would take way too much time for me to do.

Pick something right away, stick with it and give it your best. Most important thing is that your project is done on time. That's a value that goes straight into the real world.

Loaded it up and went straight to Config. Is the English good? I don't mind either way. Though I did turn subtitles on.
Should I stick with the rest of the defaults?

Jesus fucking christ.
No chillis, how hard is that to fucking understand, it literally means "do less work and don't put them on" ya Turkish cunts.
Sorry, just, fuck me how hard is it to fit a simple fucking order?
Last straw to the end of a not so fantastic day just really fucked me off as it's the first bit of food I'd have had all day.

I thought the English was fine, yeah. Theres isn't much you really need to change, but I dont recommend starting a game above normal on your first playthrough. Even on normal, this game can get hard as balls.
I dont want to tell you how to play the game, but there are a whole lot of things i can recommend to make sure you get through the game as smooth as possible. That may be best left for a PM though as there are SO many things.

A lack of structure in a highly structured environment! Weeee. Job training? Nah, man, this is about self-expression. Just do what you feel. Unless you don't feel much, then you're fucked.

Just an update on the scale of "Most to least trustworthy" groups as according to Japanese media.
">" = Is more trustworthy than.
Ordinary civilians > Petty Criminals > The Rich > Demons/The Devil > Yakuza > Triad > Korean Mafia > Land Speculators > Non-Japanese Government > Japanese Government > The Gods/God.

Well, that's not surprising at all, seeing how xenophobic Japan is. Except for USA, because nothing says "friendship" like atom bombing two heavily populated cities.
Also, I'd also rather trust the devil than the mafia in general. At least he'd be somewhat coy about it.

Then I also also saw terms like "use advanced lighting and advanced texturing" and all I can wonder about that is what the hell constitutes as "advanced" lighting and texturing. Also, anyone who expects me to master 3DS Max to a level where I can make ultra-realistic pictures and environment in less than five months is just fucking insane. I can't even read/watch tutorials without trying to skim through them because I feel like every minute is precious, let alone read the thousands of pages in the books. Maybe if I did nothing else during this time, I could have turned up something decent, but I specifically chose the half-paced course so I could get time to do other things, like my job which I'm borderline neglecting because of this shit.
All of this doesn't help my mental faculties whatsoever. In fact, it only stresses me out and makes me want to distance myself from it as I do everything else when I start to feel like it brings no comfortable thoughts at all. I'm going through a psyche evaluation for a reason.
I get that the other two assignments were like practice for the big one, but fuuuuuuck me if I don't think that's a big leap. At least limit my areas so I don't go way over my head. I'm not an artist. I hadn't even looked at ambient occlusion or what it does outside of video game settings before this.
As if this wasn't enough, then the course drags in Photoshop, because I'm expected to make my own textures on top of all this. Now, that's understandable, because I can see how I'd want to tweak the appearances and colors of my textures, but I can't help but to notice that scattered pattern and assumption that I have any knowledge about the program prior to starting the course again.
Which was never mentioned when I applied for it.

Well, last night I played until Monday morning before heading to school. My dialogue choices have been a mix of obedient and non-compliant, but my actions have been pretty obedient as I closed up shop and didn't wander around at night, which I was tempted to do since I figured I'd get away with it. The art is pretty though. I really like the design. The fighting controls I guess will become easier to manage when I actually start fighting, but I can get around easy enough. I chose to play on normal.
I'll continue in a few days.
