I was in the wrong for a great deal many of them and it took me a while to see it. But on some the awkward silence had hit and then the site got closed down so things never got resolved, or were resolved by time.

I guess it's just part of having an online hangout, or an hangout of any kind, really. People will get heated up and angry and not always you'll end up with a pleasant conversation. But as long as there's some basic human respect things should turn out fine in the end. And if we didn't have anything worth getting angry or passionate about, this would be a very very boring place.

Anyway I bought Bayonetta 2 for the Switch, because i figured if I'm going to play that game again, it may as well be on the system that Nintendo will support for the next 4 or so years.

It came with a free copy of Bayonetta 1, which is nifty, as I haven't played that game since it released in 2009.

That game... is an ASSHOLE.

Every other moment in that game is punctuated with the developers actively trying to piss you off. Instant death quick time events. Cut-scenes that blend into enemy attacks. Enemies that can juggle you in an endless combo that will deplete 3/4ths of your health bar. Inconsistent invisible "dont fall" barriers. Bad checkpoints. All this on top of punishing difficulty.

None of that is present in Bayonetta 2. Admittedly bayonetta 2 is also a much easier game, which im sure some people wouldnt enjoy as much.
Even still it is amazing to me how poorly the first game has aged. If it wasn't for its charm, it wouldn't even be worth going back to.

(Bayonetta as a character is significantly less likable in the first game too.)

He was the a extremely high level EA executive. He mostly just did what EA does. Be greedy and screw customers over. They offered him twenty million dollars last year to stay on despite Star Wars Battlefronts controversy.

I imagine he left because he thinks EA is going to fuck up even more and left the ship before it starts to sink, after all governments are starting regulate loot boxes and it might not stop there, so better to leave when you can still get a pretty good golden handshake as we Danse call it.

He left on his own terms. He even declined money. That means EA has no intention of altering course any time soon. New guy wont be better. If anything he will be worse.

I’m halfway through reading the new Star Wars Thrawn novel and its finally giving us a glimpse into some of the stuff going on in the Unknown Regions and what Thrawn and Palpatine have been discussing about behind the scenes that’s been hinted at and teased for so long. It’s far more interesting than what’s been going on with the First Order in the recent films in my opinion.

Whereas Vader and Tarkin started rocky but grew to be Imperial Space Bros, Vader and Thrawn do not get along at all. Vader wants nothing more than to murder Thrawn. Thrawn respects Vader’s power, but is frustrated by his style of doing things. Naturally, Palpatine puts them together for a mission.

Also has an interesting look into Vader's psyche, and how he compartmentalizes his current life and his old life as Anakin Skywalker.

Some Star Wars Rebels nods and references as well.

Also been catching up on my 40k reading. Here’s an interesting new addition to Fabius Bile’s story:

Fabius Bile created a clone daughter from his own genetic code at some point during the Horus Heresy, and named her Melusine. Something was off about her DNA though, and it was bad enough to make Bile concerned, though whether it was because she was breaking down or mutating into something more than what Bile intended is unclear. Later—its not clear how as the details are really vague— Melusine got lost in the Warp. She survived and ascended mortality, becoming a daemon princess, and pledged herself to Slaanesh’s Court.

In the current 40k setting, she still has some feelings for her father, and sends him cryptic warnings of future dangers to help him every now and then, and Bile still has some feelings for his daughter, as he’s always on the lookout for info on sightings of her whenever she appears in realspace and wonders about her wellbeing. Which is doubly interesting, as it challenges his views on daemons and Chaos, as Bile believes there's nothing supernatural about Chaos, that the Chaos Gods are not gods, that they and their daemons are not sentient and don't possess free will, and are just living warp storms/anomalies that act on blind instinct and mindlessly echo back emotions and such creating the illusion of personhood; they need to be respected for their power and the danger they represent, but subscribing personalities, goals, motives, and the like to such things is superstitious foolishness. Or so he tells himself. Though he may never admit it, its clear there's at least a few times he's thought about reconsidering his stance over the past 10,000 years. He's seen some really freaky shit in his time, and the issue of Melusine is something he can't just ignore.

An easy way to piss Bile off and earn a spot on his shit list is to joke about his daughter having lots and lots of kinky daemon sex with Slaanesh or Fulgrim in the Warp.

That was one of the cases of "Too OP to fudge it". Gaara is basically a sand-demon. Toph has a control of earth so throught and perfect she can bend even metal, by "connecting" with the metallic ore imperfections, so it stands to reason manipulating sand it's small potatoes for her. It'd be like sending Steel or Ironman to fight Magneto.

Dunno. He has built his suits with all kinds of materials over the years, including literal magic alien metal. So thinking too hard about realistic conductivity properties is kind of pointless. But if we want to, for the sake of conversation, even if he did make the outer layers of non-magnetic materials, the armor's power source, electronics and wiring probably would still makes things... problematic. Unless it's all heavily shielded with made up nanomaterials or force fields, or with exsisting materials, but that would bulk up the armor considerably, and make it harder to interface with the pilot inside, while instead both in the movies and comics it looks like every few years IM gets a sleeker and more techno-organic suit.

I really loved these games but I didn't play past the second one because they just got too overtly kiddish. It's hard to explain. With, say, a Nintendo game like Mario I always feel like the core idea is that this is a kid's game and yet it never really feels like anybody is catering to childishness and there is a general charm and humor that leaves it open to anybody. Spyro 2 had this like Dora the Explorer "no really this is for kids" kind of feel to it.

I'll probably pick this up, but I sort of hope they tone that aspect down as much as it's possible. New voice acting will really help as that was part of the problem.

Crash never had that feel.

Since it seems like the only way to gain rep is by doing all the WQs you can, going to be a lot of running into Alliance. Had to put down a death knight 4 times in one area. Little bastard was kiting me with snares and spamming ranged shit. Monks are incredibly fragile right now, sadly. Still, came out 4-1, so that's a win. But blood will flow, which I suppose is the point.

Yeah, it's not for me. I hope they can solve the "people with Warmode on cannot group for groups with people who have it off" problem that has been cropping up (not sure if it was only for outdoor content, which would make sense, or as well for dungeons), because I really am not a WoW PVP'er.
