I would have rather seen a Predator vs Monkey King movie than the crap I watched

Re: Films and TV (Untagged spoilers)
So the third Guardians of the Galaxy movie won't happen before 2021, and Disney wants a female director for it, apparently.
Because that's gonna help when that movie sucks because half the cast is gone and they only have Gunn's first draft for the story to start from... have a female director, wether she'd be a good fit for the project or not, so you can pretend every negative buzz is all the fault of dem sexist internet trolls.
At this point, I'd rather not have the film. Get Adam Warlock in another movie, since they sequel baited him already, hint that he killed part of the Guardians and have the few who's actors will be willing to stick around show up here and there.
*sigh*

Sure, fucking whatever.
Maybe next they'll just gender swap the entire cast.

No, don't think it's going to happen with the GotG, but there's constant talk of the "need" to make an all-female Avengers movie. And they just accepted to pay Scarlett Jhoanssen a ridiculous amount of money to make a Black Widow solo movie.
A few years and thei're gonna kill the MCU the same way thei're killing the comics... obsessing over gender politics and rapresentation, and turning against their fanbase as soon as the criticisms start to pour in.
Wouldn't be surprised if the Captain Marvel solo movie starts that trend already.

Re: Films and TV (Untagged spoilers)
To be fair people have been asking for a Black Widow movie since the first Avengers.
That said i feel like Captain Marvel was the movie that no one asked for, about a character no one cares about.

Re: Films and TV (Untagged spoilers)
Yeah, I would actually not mind at all a Black Widow movie, as long as there's a good story to tell in it, and it's not just to have an extra female hero movie.
And I wouldn't mind a Captain Marvel movie either, Carol Danvers can be a pretty kickass character, but apparently they completely rewrote the character's backstory, and thei're describing her as the new "most powerful hero of the MCU". Thei're basically setting her up to be MCU's Rey, and they didn't even get a particularly charismatic actress to play her.
So yeah... I'm worried. I hope I'm proven wrong, as I always say in these situation, but we live in an age where Hollywood keeps tanking franchise after franchise for the same few b.s. reasons, and refuses to learn that no amount of internet trolls can justify the kind of downward spiral thei're in.

I'll stick around for Avengers 4 and the next Spiderman movie for sure. Past that... we'll see.
I am a big MCU fan, but I was also a big Marvel Comics fan, and that didn't mean I'm obligated to buy the shit comics thei're currently releasing. And if they start to pull that kind of crap in the movies as well, I don't plan to give them more money for those either.

Re: Films and TV (Untagged spoilers)
Just finished to bingewatch Daredevil Season 3. Once again, it confirms to be the best of the Marvel-Netflix stuff. Vincent D'Onofrio as Kingpin still is awesome and terrifying and constantly 5 steps ahead of of everyone, the fight coreographies and the cinematography are pretty solid, and all the characters are well fleshed-out and interesting.
Now... my only real annoyance...
So yeah, happy with this season... even more so than Season II even, probably. I mean... all the Punisher stuff in the second series was virtually perfect, but then they had to cram into it Elektra to start building up to the Defenders, and the second half of that season suffered for it. Not the case here.
In the end, thumbs up and let's hope that, unlike Luke Cage and IronFist, this series does get renewed. Tho I literally have no idea why it wouldn't be, other than some behind the scenes b.s.

I finally bothered to watch Infinity War. Yea, yea, behind the times. I always watch Marvel movies super late because I hate movie theatres.
I was a little underwhelmed. Thanos' reasoning for what he wants is just so...stupid. And it consistently undermines everything in the whole movie.
The movie did manage it's huge cast well. I was worried it would be too convoluted and busy to even focus on anything, but in general, they paired up characters into meaningful little groups that totally work together in interesting ways. The two most interesting ones to me were Dr. Strange/Tony Stark and strangely enough Rocket and Thor.
*Edit* Damn spoiler tags. I always forget it's [*spoil*] and not [*spoiler*].

Got back from seeing the new Halloween.
I love horror movies, but I'm not that big into the slasher genre. The first Halloween is one of the few exceptions to that general rule of mine, and this one joins that rank as well. Very much recommended.
I really dug it. I loved the direction they went in, I liked the way the characters were handled, an awesome soundtrack, nice cinematography, some creepy kills, the whole nine yards. There's a few minor things I would have done differently, there's a few slasher movie clichés present, but none of those detracted from my overall enjoyment of the film. Jamie Lee Curtis' character Laurie Strode rocks in this movie, channeling Sarah Connor as she's prepared and ready to fight back. Her and Michael's cat and mouse game is satisfying to behold.
One of the oldest modern horror icons has returned; Michael Myers/The Shape is back and with a vengeance.

I hope that trick dies sooner than later, just like Russiagate hysteria.

So far, this looks like a better treatment of the Arthurian Mythos than the most recent films.
