Tali'Thread vas Clan Zorah nar BSN 6.0
Re: Tali'Thread vas Clan Zorah nar BSN 6.0
Interesting job today. A deck we'd cleaned and painted last year was oozing what appeared to be oil. Looked like crude, everything was greasy. Near as we could figure, the first guys to stain the deck had put on so much oil-based product that it never cured out properly, so when we cleaned it, we removed the dried top coat, then the paint we put on top was latex so the now exposed oils came right through. Never had that happen before, very odd. Had to powerwash it inch by inch with a degreaser, then going to try and seal it with an oil paint.
Most impressive bit was that it took a year for the owners to contact us with, "Oh hey our deck is weeping oil, can you fix that?"

Still one of the best games Nintendo has ever made.

Well it's been a while since we have hear or seen anything of this remake.
I was wondering if we'd see an update on this before the year was up.
You know, I certainly understand why FF7 has such a strong place in peoples' hearts and in video game culture/history, but personally, a remake of FF6 would be more my speed.

I think they need to remake Chrono Trigger.
(And banish Chrono Cross to the 9th level of hell.)

Offline single player mode or I'm not interested.

Also, my favorite interpretation of Bowser. And extra bonus points for introducing Kammy Koopa, who is miles better than Kamek.
What was your badge layout and star points distribution like for this run?

Id argue that it wasn't till the second game that those two really shone, but I do love them. You can blame Miyamoto for fucking up this series. The developers have been trying to make a RPG again for years, and he keeps stopping them. Thank Christ Nintendo seems to finally be ignoring him now.
By the end of the game I had 50 (max) health, 40 FP, and 30 (max) BP. Put it all in some basic utility attack badges like multibounce, power jump, and Quake Hammer, and EEEEEEVERYTHING else into attack up and defense up. Oh and i guess something to lower FP cost.
I'll probably start Thousand Year Door next. That game looks incredible in an emulator.

So basically, it's going to be like Evolve, except that the alien beast is replaced with the Predator. And thei're probably going to ask you a fucking fortune for every skin or skill variation of the monster.

For anyone interested...
This is Paper Mario TTYD running in its native resolution. (Keep in mind it will look better anyway because its running through HDMI.)
This is it running at 4K with a bunch of anti-aliasing and other neato-torpedo emulator tricks.
Emulators are FFFFUCKING coool.

DO NOT wait till the last few days to do the dungeons.
You have like 1 day less then what they tell you. Just do them as soon as you safely can. You still get all the days.
I dont want to be officious, but I got royally fucked by that.
Re: Tali'Thread vas Clan Zorah nar BSN 6.0
The time skips in Persona 4 Golden fucked me hard on my first play through. So yeah, don't faff on vital content, just in case.

The first dungeon is the hardest one too. At least until you start getting into late late game stuff.

Re: Tali'Thread vas Clan Zorah nar BSN 6.0
Years later, and the Wood Elves are still cunts to fight against. Otherwise, my Tomb King campaign is going very slow, but I'm winning. The end turns are brutal tho. Still on my starting continent, finally kicked off the big war to break the other power bloc. They play sort of like a bastard hybrid of Necrons from Dawn of War and Russia in Med 2. Great variety of power units, but limited by your ability to build the top tier buildings to make them possible to build, no cost to recruit or upkeep, so you fill armies with shit chaff skeletons. Neat idea. But as I start fighting nasty, end-game stacks, the need for elite stacks of my own, multiple, becomes clear.
Re: Tali'Thread vas Clan Zorah nar BSN 6.0
Yeah, I'd say good expansion (both in the geographic and the economical sense) is key to winning the campaign with the Tomb Kings. You need those high tier buildings and a lot of them to field a good army.
At the moment I want to play something else, but when I get back to TW:WH2, they are high up on my next race to play. I'll probably play Queen Khalidah, since I think she has a very good starting position.
Finished the Bordeleaux campaign last weekend and it was really easy. First off, you don't have to conquer half the map to win, you got an end objective (a big battle, either against Chaos or the Orks). Secondly, after you knock out Mousillon early and then farm rebellions in your two provinces for twenty turns (due to the Ork incursion event), you just confederate everyone else around you with the appropiate technology and then you can just sit there, build up until you have the highest tier cavalry and easily roll over everyone you don't like. You also don't get the supply lines penalty with Brettonia, which also contributes to the fact that you can make do with a relatively small realm (although in sheer geographical expansion I owned more land mass than the entirety of Ulthuan... Brettonia is pretty big!).
I confederated the three Bretonnian exile faction in the Southlands after about 140 turns, who, since CA turned off the huge bonus mayor factions get to their autoresolve rolls last patch), had expanded into half of the continent and suddenly owned half the Southlands as well. Then I turned north with three elite stack and farmed the Norsca for the remaining chivalry I needed for the final battle, crept through the Chaos Wastes veeery slowly (due to the massive attrition that terrain gives you, I had to encamp for several turns to get troops back every three moves) to the final battle location and, boom, done. It took 220 turns in the end, but that was mostly due to having to move at half speed through Norsca territory in the end and then about one eight speed through the Chaos Wastes. Royal hippogryphs and the grail cavalry (not the shock cavalry, the other one) just smash everything the enemy throws against you.

Only problem is documentation is often terrible for simple things. Trying to map a non-Xbox Controller in RetroArch is like trying to crack some kind of Nazi code.I've yet to figure out how to turn rumble on.
I've been trying to get an HD texture pack to work in Dolphin for the better port of 3 hours. Turns out the issue was the version of the pack I downloaded doesn't work on the 5.0 stable build, and I need to either upgrade to a developmental build, or use the second version of the pack.
No one thought to put "YO! DDS VERSION ONLY WORKS ON VERSION 5.0-4000 AND ABOVE!" next to the DDS version.
Finally figured it all out and now I'm too fucking tired to play.

Boy I hope you guys all called your mamas.
Watching the OWL stage 2 finals (The San Fran Shock beat the undefeated Vancouver Titans, Day of the Rake begins now, woot woot), the Mother's Day montage they played during the breaks was nice. Having unconditional love and support sounds like a lovely mother-child relationship.

Yeah, back when it was Mother's Day!
The proper one.
Nah I kid, but the weird thing is Mother's Day is a different day over here but Father's Day is the same day.
On another note.
What is the limits of the benefit of incline?
I ask because me and my dad were chatting about stuff and I said now the weather is getting less English I could go out for a few walks in the local forest/woods every now and again on the trail it has. He returns with "well even if it's raining you could go up and down the stairs a few times".Which, to be fair, is better than nothing at all, but it got me thinking about steps forwards vs steps UP and forward.
Say I am walking 100 steps forward flat (or as flat as one can get it outside in the random world) vs 100 steps up a flight of stairs, which is the "bigger" workout?
Does gravity matter all that much/make that much of a difference?

Don't have numbers, but yes absolutely, depending on what your goal is. Personal anecdote:
I prepped walking multi-miles each day before a trip to India back in college only to have the hiking in India still whip my ass because it was all inclined in the mountains.
Spent 10 weeks in Yosemite (also in the mountains) one summer as an intern and did intermittent hikes for the hell of it mixed with having to walk like a quarter mile uphill each day to where I was staying. I got into the best shape of my life doing that and I wasn't even *trying* to exercise.

I should have prefaced/ included "does/by how much does it matter before you're just climbing a ladder and then your arms are also adding to the workload making it feel easier?"
So, say I wanted to go for, let's choose an average fitness distance most schlubs like me can't do like a 5K, if I did a 5K just walking it would not be as good as if I walked up the amount of steps a 5K is worth?
Because if so then I really don't know why things like the "Stairmaster" and stairs are given such ridicule by the casual onlooker.
In any case it sounds like a good supplement/version to use on those rainy days when you don't want to go out but still must exercise.
A shame my stairwell is so small.
Re: Tali'Thread vas Clan Zorah nar BSN 6.0
Just from a quick lookup walking at the steepest incline of a treadmill at 3.5 mph is roughly analogous to jogging in terms of calories burned.

Re: Tali'Thread vas Clan Zorah nar BSN 6.0
I'd say at the best, one should think of it as minutes where the heart beating has increased. If a flat walk for 20 minutes gets the heart really beating, then that's what you need. Now as you get used to that then the heart adjusts and it takes a bit more to get it beating, that's where inclined walking can come in.
So if for you right now walking up the stairs gets your heart pumping faster then that's the better workout for you. Then again, fresh air is a great stimulant.
