Yay, one more Metroidvania for my wishlist. I really enjoyed the first Axiom Verge, and given the behind the scenes trouble (the poor guy who made it got screw over a lot of money by his original publisher) I did not expect to ever see a sequel. Glad to be proven wrong about that.

I wish I was better at handling horror, because the Resident Evil 2 remake looked awesome, and the Resident Evil 3 remake looks to also be pretty fucking cool.

RE2make was more tense than scary, in my opinion, but it's a fine line. Less jump scares, though there are some, more a constant fear of danger, helped by Mr. X's brilliant sound design.

Resident Evil 3 is the only mainline game in the series that I've never played, so this looks like my opportunity. The RE2 remake was astonishingly well made for something that was done as a last minute decision and with a hasty production schedule and shoestring budget, and if REmake 3 is as good then my purchase is sealed.

RE2 remake is very good, one of my favorite games of the year, and I think everyone should pick it up during the inevitable winter sale, so that you can experience firsthand what it's like for Mr. X to give it to ya.

Yes, possibly. It's just way less likely because they last much longer and are way more durable. They will go out if they are extremely heavily used though but most normal usage would take a really long time to wear one out.

The fact that Ghost of Tsushima is being made by an American studio will never not make me feel a bit icky.

I don't even mean in a SJW nonsense way. I just mean that it will probably be cringe-worthy and completely out of tune with actual Japanese history and culture...

It would be like if Japan tried to make a super serious western set just after the Civil War. It is a recipe for something very clumsy and awkward. This is an industry where most studios dont even seem to think to look up Wikipedia articles about surface level topics, let alone to have a good grasp on subtleties and historical context.

So I installed a new OS on a new drive and now the PC is up. I'm thinking this was the result of a couple things happening at once. We had a bunch of fires and power outages during the time this happened so perhaps a surge took out the hard drive or something corrupted the OS and my own negligence fried the MB when I was looking for answers. Been looking up power protection and conditioning.This had me out for more than a month, what if I had been in the middle of a project? I'll see if I should wipe the old drive and use it, but I'm wondering if I messed up clean installing the OS on the old drive before I took out the MB. At least I learned some computer things.

Computer is still only reading 7 of my 8 RAMs sticks. I'll have to figure that one out too.

The low hanging fruit thing on that really usually is to just make sure it's seated right. You do have to push down pretty firmly on them sometimes to get them to snap in all the way. (Sorry if you ruled that out already and it comes across as patronizing). If the clamps on the sides of any of them are loose at all, it's probably not seated good.

Other than that, there's some freeware diagnostic tools around you can run off a flash drive that will tell you if you have a bad stick.
