Tali'Thread vas Clan Zorah nar BSN 6.0
Re: Tali'Thread vas Clan Zorah nar BSN 6.0
Christmas is one of the 2 days a year, the other being my birthday, where I can earnestly say I feel generally happy and optimistic the entire time. It's a special, magical feeling, and I hope to ensure any children I have are the same.
@Theo: I think the carp-women could've been turned on the bull, but I picked the one closet to the entrance to the complex, so it started shooting the other ones, and I ended up having to kill them all. Wasn't a big deal, since I did the drop deathblow, then circle-strafed him to death. The bull got cucked.
Oh noooooooo. Those undead mages with the terror kamehamehas and spirit bombs are the only enemy I haven't been able to beat. Now that I can buy covfefe from the merchants, should be able to grind them out. But my gut is telling me this giant carp I saw break the bridge, and that I have an item from the creepy jar guy to give bait too, and the old lady asked me to deal with, is going to be a problem.

No, its like an instant kill. I saw it once months after having played the game and was very upset. That bull is a real fucker.

Ah, that hint helped a ton. Breezed through all those fucks. Got through the rest of the water palace dealie. Only hard part was that triple ambush leading up to the tree-bro. Used a candy to cheese it. Boss fight was alright, not a fan of gimmick fights, but one shot it. However, I'm up to the last boss, and after 5 attempts, hard exited the game. Not nearly in the mood for putting up with that right now. Need to Mikiri or jump? You have a quarter second to guess! Do that later, not on Christmas.

See, now you understand.
NOW you know.
I never beat that boss. After the 30th or so try of no progress I was done with that games bullshit. If it was JUST the last boss, fine. I might have been able to push through.
I am not fighting lightning boys cheap ass every time. I'm just not.

It's like spearbitch. I can beat him, and I will, but it's no fun in any sense of the word. Not a test of skill so much as a test of memorization of his patterns. And I assume his 3 lives means he does new shit in every form. So I have to beat Gary Oak without using any emblems or healing, okay, then his grandpa over and over until I commit everything he does to muscle memory.
Sekiro's bosses in general are the weak point, because they negate most of your tools, combat arts, and items. Raw combat, and the raw combat isn't the fun part.

The only Sekiro boss I enjoyed was the gimmick one.

Which gimmick one? The first was annoying, but easy. Second looked cool, but took me way too long to figure out you had to _aim_ the thingy and that phase 3 was just a timed thing.

The dragon. He's easy as hell, but at least I was able to have fun.

I am having mixed feelings towards that last Pokemon game. I am in no way a good gamer - Mass Effect 2 and 3 might be the only games I became rather skilled at without ever being close to the best there were - but it really felt too easy even though I played it mostly as a blind Nuzlocke challenge (Mons are out if KO'd, only first mon met in each area can be captured). The only rule I changed was that I could capture other mons in an area after the first one - but not use them, they went straight to the PC.
And I never even lost a single monster in a trainer battle. My only losses were while trying to capture some of them (I lost Doge, my Boltund, while capturing a Wobbuffet, and my starter Rillaboom because I misread Falinks' type and didn't expect it to be Fighting). And while I tried to have a rather diverse team, it wasn't minmaxed or optimal at all - I think it was Gyarados, Ninetales, Excadrill, Galar Rapidash, Pangoro and Appletun.
I'm not expecting some mighty challenge, but I remember when young me got crazy trying to beat that f-ing Miltank back in Silver, or the dread when facing Metagross or Cynthia's Garchomp - I don't get to feel that anymore. And the difficulty did not discourage me from playing the games, on the contrary, so I don't see why new players would just quit because sometimes there is a truly hard fight to get through.
(Also, they should stop with the "new concept" every game, mega-evolutions were perfect, but Z-moves and dynamaxing are pointless IMO)

So I'm a little over half way done with Control and i really only have one think to say.
Why the hell is this a third person shooter?
Because the third person shooter aspect of the game is the least interesting part of the game.

Gosh. Got a tiny, 2L fridge to cool drinks for Christmas. Didn't get a proper mini-fridge because there's no AC in this room and dumping extra heat, when I'm already a very...unhappy person in the pit of summer, would not be wise. ...Though I suppose I could get one for outside my door. Regardless, it was dead on arrival. Told the company, they told me to check if it was exposed to extreme heat or cold, I confirmed it was not, now they're sending me a free replacement unit.
Pennies to the, I'm sure, but rather nice too. Would've expected more of an ordeal, honestly.

My family bought me a Roomba, 600 series. It's simple. You turn it on and it cleans until it runs out of batteries.
Had a happy Christmas.
Used my Microsoft points I earned from Bing to buy some new games. Skyrim I heard is pretty okay, and I started one called 'Elite Dangerous Horizons', where you Star Trek Legacy around and also explore the galaxy, I think. Looks to be a loooooooooong game, so we'll see.

@Sci: You needed a Roomba? Soon as I have the floor space to warrant one, I'd like to get one. I both enjoy the effects of regular vacuuming, but also do it far too infrequently.
My big gift was a PS4, that triple bundle they had with God of War, Horizon: Wammin Dawn, and Last of Us, for $250. Obviously, I'm more than happy to get a gift that big. Got Persona 5, Bloodborne, and the Blu-ray of My Cousin Vinny and Mamma Mia! for good measure.
Related, but going through my spending for the last year makes me disgusted with myself. Met my savings goal, for all the good that does, interest rates on everything us proles can get are literally less than useless. But spent so much on shit and takeout. As my computer is getting long in the tooth, if I tamp down hard, should easily be able to cover that, and hopefully a fucking proper vacation, like I wanted to last year.
Anyway. Persona 5 is oozing style. I'm really impressed with that. Some great new mechanics, the Holdup system, a far more pleasant fusion system than P3, and I like the idea of being basically hated by everyone when you start. You internalize that resentment as you go on your journey, and overcome it. Plus the characters thus far have been all quite interesting. Ryuji is better than Yosuke, Ann (Pronounced "Ahn," a subtle touch) is the sexy kitten but in a real hard place. Guy fostering you is cool, Coach Fuckstick is repulsive, principal is a toad, so on and so forth.
Plus that subway section at the start, where you have to navigate a realistic fucking Japanese subway system to transfer trains and get to school, legit gave me some anxiety. I have nightmares that are like that, being in Japan, trying to figure out where the hell I have to go and being totally lost and unable to read anything.
Biggest complaint is how long this handholding tutorial stuff is going on. Hours and hours of scripted, on-rails, do this, do that, talk talk talk about mechanics.

Happy New Years, CZ!
If this decade isn't a marked improvement over the last, ho boy!
Gosh. ME2 was a decade ago. Back then, I wasn't even in college yet. I haven't changed much in that decade. Something to hate, something to improve on. Never thought of what 2020 would be like as a wee boy. 2000 was a "big" enough moment. Ah well. I'll endure, somehow. Cheers!

2020. My god.
You now need to specify the 1920s when you talk about "the 20s".
Happy new year everyone.
I just played Beat Saber and its a neat game. I also feel like my heart is going to explode, but that probably doesn't mean anything.

Wasn't my game, and it was, unfortunately, on the PSVR, so there isn't an option for custom maps.
Still a good bit of fun though. I liked the song Full Charge a lot.
