Before it aired I thought it was all a joke from DC fans who were disappointed about Justice League but would rather laugh about it (I only learned about it when Honest Trailers covered it, sorta). Little did I know.

For what it's worth, this episode was great. Somehow they manage to make Batgirl of Burnside work in one of the (humorously) darkest Gotham settings that exist. Oh, and they managed to make Alfred even more awesome than he usually is. And Bane is fantastic.

It was a perfect transition after last week which was way more emotional (and greatly helped with Harley's development).

Today's film was Isle of Dogs. I think it's the second Wes Anderson movie I have seen (after Fantastic Mr Fox), and as such it is quite hard to describe, but I loved it. Poetic and whimsical, with a very lovely animation style once I got into it.

Oh no, the whole Release the Snyder Cut thing was real. People even tried to organize a march in the front of the WB studios once... 8 people and their kidz presented lol But I respect the passion, it's better than the people who made petitions to get Disney to declare Last Jedi non-canon and redo Episode8, making complete asses of themselves. Yes, that is what the other shirt refers too, in case you were wondering.

Recovered an old movie from about a decade ago, Nine.

It is a... strange but interesting movie. It's produced by Tim Burton and a bit of his sense of aestetic creeps into the film a bit, but the story itself seems more like something Don Bluth would come up with. It's a story about a tribe of homunculi/ragdoll things trying to survive in a post-apocalyptict world where a machine rebellion drove humanity, and most life on Earth by the looks of it, to extinction.

There's a bit more to it, but of course I'm not going to spoil it just in case you haven't seen it and seems interesting. For being over a decade old is well animated, but it's a very oddball of a film. I'm not surprised it didn't do too well but seems to havea bit of a cult following. I wasn't exactly blown away by it or anything, but like I said it's an... interesting movie. Don't think it's going to be something I revisit many times, if any, but I'm glad I saw it at least once.

I remember it seeing it in a theater, and I had the same opinion: there is something missing to make it as good as it could be, but it is enjoyable nonetheless. I can't remember the details exactly but I think it fell in the "revealed too little to completely keep me invested" category.

That's a good way to put it. I appreciate the fact they didn't shy away from the darker aspects of the apocalyptic setting, and the mechanical monstrosities were legitimately creepy and memorable, but it felt a bit... souless, like it missed that extra spark to make it go from just interesting to actually good.

Which is rather ironic given the story.

I'm gonna stop for the night and keep the last three episodes for tomorrow, but that has lightened up my day, week and month. Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex is my favorite anime series, and this is a sequel happening some years after the Solid State Society OAV. Except this time it has 3D graphics ala Appleseed, but honestly - visuals never were the reason I adored the original, so it was not much of a hurdle.

They've got the whole original team back (with the same voice actors, which is quite a feat considering the original series are from 2002), with obviously the excellent Tachikomas to ligthen the mood. They also have added a new rather important character, a young girl named Purin Ezaki who seems to be kind of a genius and is supposed to overview the Tachikomas, but she is fine by me - she brings the same brand of off-tone humor, and her bubbly personality contrasts well with, well, the entirety of S9's grizzled soldiers (and the Major in particular).

The story is interesting, and it still has the weird, irregular pacing that I adore. In the middle of the season you had an episode about Batou ending right in the middle of an amateur bank holdup, and the episode basically served to discuss elderly poverty. So despite the short schedule, they haven't stopped with their off-topic little stories.

I am extremely grateful to Netflix for this.

Gorgeous to look at, very colorful cast, super wholesome.

So... JLA Dark: Apokolips War. Let's just say that the "dark" in the title isn't there just for funzies...

Most of the JLA and the Titans are literally SLAUGHTERED during the initial attack against Apokolips. Turns out that Darkseid was one step ahead of everyone because Cyborg, bein powered by a Mother-Box, has unconsciously bein spying on the JLA for him the whole time. When they arrive they find an army of super-parademons spliced with Doomsday DNA to welcome them, and the majority of DC's heroes are literally torn to shreds Mortal Kombat style. A handful of them, including Wonder Woman, Starfire and Martian Manhunter, are resurrected and turned into Darkeseid's Furies, using the same tech he made Cyborg Superman with. Batman is brainwashed and given the Mobius Chair and becomes Darkseid's second-in-command, Luthor surrenders and pretends to sell himself to Darkseid to live a bit longer, only to help the few remaining heroes on Earth from the other side. Superman is given a kryptonite-ink tatoo that poisons him and strips him of his powers, and is kicked back to Earth so he can watch his world and everyon on it die.

2 years later the surviving heroes put togheter a desperate suicide attack to try to destroy Apokolips before it destroys Earth. The main p.o.v. character of teh whole story is Jhon Constantine which is pretty great, and the other main folks are Superman, Raven and Damn Him Wayne. Damien recovered Nightwing's bloody corpse from the remainings of the Titans' Tower and tried to resurrected him with the Lazarus Pit, after taking command of the League of Assassins. He ends up a crazy undead locked in a padded room. Raven is consumed from within by her dad's influence as he slowly breaks free, and is drained of most of her powers.

After a desperate struggle where almost everyone still standing is killed, the JLA manages to destroy Apokolips, and throws Darkseid in no-space with Trigon, who seems pretty happy with the idea of battling with the New God for the rest of eternity. But Earth has been compromised almost beyond repair, so Constantine convices Flash to just go back and cause another Flashpoint, and the survivors of the League watches him ran away as their messed up reality disappears and is hopefully replaced by something better.

There's a lot of cool and even a few funny moments overall... pretty much everyone who survives the initial attack that was in ANY of the previous DCAU movies makes an appearance.

After seeying almost everyone she ever cared about being butchered Raven almost kills herself, but is saved at the last second by Superman, in a moment reminiscent of the infamous page from All Star Superman where he stops a goth kid from killing herself.

Lois Lane becomes a badass resistance fighters and manages to recruit the Suicide Squad (that pretty much consists of every supervillain still alive) after defeating Harley Quinn in a boxing match.

Entrigan the Demon pretty much acts like Drax the Destroyer with a drinking problem through the whole film, and he adds abit of levity to the whole situation. He dies with a smile on his face, fighting Cyborg Wonder Woman, and giving Constantine a chance to free her from her mind control.

Batman snaps out of his mind-control when ordered to kill his son, then Darkseid kills Damien anyway. That then makes Raven snap and release Trigon.

Once freed from his prison Trigon initially possesses Superman and there's a pretty sweet Demon Host Superman vs Darkseid exchange. The possession also manages to purge the kryptonite from Clark's body and allows him to get one last swing at Darkseid once he regains control of himself.

Once freed from her father, Raven's love for Damien makes her regain her full powers including her healing abilities.She then turns into White Raven, and she resurrects both Damien and Jhon Constantine ,who had been killed by Demon Superman, and I HATE IT I HATE IT I HAAAAAATE IT!!!

Overall, besides a certain Gary Stu getting in the way 'till the very end, it was a pretty badass although bleak final movie. Whoever decided to end a 15something movie series with something like that had some balls, and I tip my hat to them.

Kickstarter starts on June 12th, and this fourth season will be the final one.

Also they will make one character video every week, so expect Evangelyne, Ruel, Amalia and Yugo to get one before the kickstarter begins.
