Yeah, that part hurt more than the pollen allergy, because I quite like carrots. Well, when they're not boiled, at least.

Some races start with different bonuses to skills on top of appearance and abilities. Other than that, you're not getting much out of it. I had a catfolk (name escapes me) that I ran around with and while everyone accused all the other members of my race for being drug-slingers and thieves, I was okay.

That's well summed-up, there are four elements regarding race:

- some flavor dialogue will change depending on your race. As a Nord you will be seen as a local, as a Khajit or Argonian you will be shunned by some. Playin an Altmer/High elf also adds some elements due to the unique position of a certain Altmer organization in the universe's politics. And Orcs will welcome you in their strongholds if you are one.

- you get a passive bonus for each race. Nords have 50% cold resistance (useful if you play as a warrior, as Cold spells deplete stamina), Argonians resist diseases and breathe underwater, Khajits have a strong unarmed attack and night vision, etc. I would say the most powerful is the Breton's 50% Magic resistance overall (Orcs don't have passive bonuses)

- you get access to a power you can use once an IG day. Bosmers can control a beast, Nords make enemies flee, etc.

- you get various starting bonuses to skills: +10 to a single skill, and +5 to 5 others, while the default starting value is always 15. For example, Redguards start with 25 in one-handed, and 20 in Smithing, Block, Alteration, Destruction and Marksmanship (and 15 everywhere else). It mostly matters in the early game and tends to suit the various races' strength and weaknesses, but becomes irrelevant later on.

As both a doctor's son and as someone in the same boat as you in this regard, I can confirm what everyone else has been saying: Yes you can.
First 22 years of my life, no seasonal pollen allergies whatsoever, then like flipping a switch, I got it. Started out very minor, but its gotten a little worse every year since it started. On heavy pollen days I'm just a mess, my nose and eyes especially.

Ok Paper Mario fans, I have a question, because I feel like I'm losing my damned mind.

Paper Mario 64 and Paper Mario TTYD. No one here believes that the characters in that game are literally made of paper, right? You understand that it is an aesthetic choice?

Same as Kirby's epic yarn. Style choice.
I've played neither and I know it's not literal.

Most of their rando quests actually involve stealing. But that's largely it. The rest is just D list intrigue.

I always saw it as just an artistic choice, and I’m relatively sure the original creative teams had that intention for the first two games at the very least. (I vaguely remember someone on the team gave an interview saying he wanted the games to stand out from the other Mario games at the time, and didn't want to go the realistic route) The only time “made of paper” style moments happen in the first two games as I recall are in TTYD when Mario gets "cursed" with those special abilities when you open those black chests, but that's supposed to be literal magic affecting you, so it doesn't count. And taking those bits too literally would be foolish as they are very few and far between and are really only there for comedic purposes and are just using the art style in creative ways to spice up the non-combat segments every once and awhile for travel and puzzle solving, not indicative of Mario being a literal 2-D paper construct in a world made of paper.

The point actually is that there was a ton of thieving under Gallus, but once Mercer took center stage he turned the Guild into Riften's mafia, hence the "bully and frame people" focus. Once you get in charge it's back to thieving even though there's still the odd framing in random Vex/Mallory quests.

I have.

It adds a little more flavor to the post main quest dialogue, and you get a special follower you can call in to make fights interesting.

Skyrim is a good game. It's fun and has a lot of modding potential, just don't get bogged down with Thieves Guild quests. It takes 125 Vex/Mallory jobs to restore the Guild to it's former glory.

I did that once. It was worth it, but that was a slog. Find a mod that either localizes the jobs so you can do 25 per big hold at a time, or lowers the job requirement.

The civil war portion is worth finishing as well. I choose Empire every time because while an independent Skyrim is great and all, a unified Empire will have a better shot at taking out the Aldmeri Dominion.

The Blades are a good way to get some great weapons and gear but after the climax, leave them be.

Mage college is an excellent place for gear and magic shit. I don't go mage very often, but I have enough to get in, get the stuff and get out.
Companions if you like hunting down monsters and assholes. Fuck the Silver Hand.
Dark Brotherhood...Good gold, decent gear, a little too evil for my tastes but sometimes you have to shake things up.
Dawnguard DLC gives you the best companion, and some kickass Vampire hunting. Sure, you could join the vampires...but...eh. Dust them.

There's always something to do. The game is easy to sink days into. I just installed Special Edition on PC and already sunk in 92 hours. The original version? 895 hours. 150 of that probably dedicated to the Thieves Guild.

She-Ra vs Wonder Woman next.

Considering Wonder Woman can go fight and defeat Superman (depending on the circumstances) I say is the most likely for her to win.

Huh the video is private now for some reason.

This is probably going to come as a shock to a lot of people but I pretty much completely agree with Mobius' assessment of Skyrim. Especially in regards to the Civil War.

With the Ring of Hircine Vampires really are just kinda inferior.

Also, yes, fuck the Aldmeri Dominion and the Thalmor.

And if you go mage get mods for more cool magic shit!
UNLIMITED POWAAAAAAAAAH!

EDIT: I had considered going back to Skyrim and modding it again. Just did Fallout 4 and the daunting task of the SSE, considering the last time I had to try and transfer some of the oldRim mods to it...it was annoying.
Plus some cunts changing their mods to be objectively worse.
Looking at you Convenient Horses, who went from using a mod configuration menu to the stupid vanilla game's speech menus to do your customizations.

Personally I think the mage college in Skyrim really sucks when it comes to the story and quests.

Still being a mage can be fun, if you know how to play as one.

Also becoming a Thane for every hold is the best way to have a good drop off point for every goodie you get is a smart plan. It takes little time and having a house in all holds gives you a little leeway for storage and politics.

And a Housecarl you can always call on. They're sworn to carry your burdens, after all. Get Amazing Follower Tweaks so you can adjust their gear, have multiple followers, and render them essential so you don't accidentally yeet Lydia off a cliff like I did once during my very first playthrough.

No fucking shit they look like paper, that does not mean in the context of the story that they are LITERALLY made of paper. The characters in Okami aren't LITERALLY made of paint, and it would be just as stupid if they suddenly referenced that were.

Becoming a Thane is especially useful if you plan on being a bit of a criminal. Thanes get a 1 time get out of bounty free card which can be very useful if used at an opportune moment.

At BEST one could call a "what if this was a story played with paper characters?" in the same way you could say "what if we made a game where Mario was a plasticine model?"
it doesn't mean he's LITERALLY plasticine, but it's a game design choice to have the aesthetic.

But those people you were talking to were dumb as all fuck to think that Mario would literally be paper.

Unless they're on about a multiversal "what if" like "into the Mario-verse" but TBH it's still just dumb to think it's literally a paper person.

Yeah, it's a fun cameo and nothing else, as far as I'm concerned. Doesn't konfirm or deny anything.

And all leaks have seemed to be onpoint so far. Fugin and Sheeva were leaked as future playable kombatants pretty much since the game's initial release, and there they are. Joker, Anhold and Spawn had been leaked out shortly after. And dataminers had found mentions of Robocop and of MK Aftermath months ago. So if people want to still be butthurt about the reliability of such rumors, so be it, but I'm not one of those.

Thieves, Thane, Thalmore. Sounds like Skyrim will be quite fun. Going to have to save these posts though for reference.

Not sure what modding options I can get on the Xbox though. I'll just enjoy what I can.

Kingdom Come has a nice set piece quest to wrap up the act and let Henry use the abilities he's acquired thus far in fun ways. Need to infiltrate a camp of bad guys. Can pretend to be a new recruit and get in, or strip the armor from a dead bad guy in the world and bluff speech checks to get in, or come in at night, and your objective is to scout out all the areas and entrances and such for the attacking force you'll be in later. You can poison the camp stews, burn their arrow stockpiles, soften them up. It's a fun way to get to use non-combat abilities and your own head to prepare for the fight.

In theory. In practice, I've done it 3 times now, and this time, the enemy scripting was so fucked up I had to butcher every single man in the camp personally. Well. The first part of the camp I used arrows, my long bow, and a poison that basically drained their stamina, so they stood there for the follow up coup de grace if they survived the first. But then the second part was all butchery, because I faffed around and nearly maxed out most of my abilities.

Point being, bad scripting can ruin good set pieces.

After a quick look at a couple of lists, here are a couple mods I enjoyed:

Real good:
- Skyrim Special Edition Unofficial Patch (fixes a bunch of issues)
- A Quality World map (the map is easier to read, especially re: roads)
- Immersive Patrols (you'll see factions patrolling the land - if they're hostile they'll fight you - and it adds a lot to the immersion as the name suggests. As far as I remember you get Stormcloaks, Imperials, Thalmor or Dawnguard patrols, and maybe even some Vigilantes of Stendarr if you haven't advanced through the story too much (not sure about that last one))
- Immersive Citizens (NPC won't attack overpowered people on sight anymore, that includes you)
- Run for your lives (pick it ESPECIALLY if you get the Dawnguard add-on - makes citizens way better at hiding when something dangerous attacks)
- The Paarthurnax Dilemma (no spoilers but it fixes a really aggravating plot point)
- Better Horses (it makes horses more handy)

Not that useful but nice:
- Static Mesh Improvement (improves the graphics - there are other mods like this for blood textures, sounds, lighting, so pick at your leisure)
- Cloaks & Capes (they tend to look nice)
- Rain and Snow FX (see Static Mesh Improvement)
- Left Hand Rings (you can equip 2 rings)
- Stones of Barenziah Markers & Impatience of a Saint Markers (for 2 sidequests that are really, really, REALLY annoying due to how hidden the items are)

Others:
- Alternate Start/Live Another Life (if you really get into the game and plan to do it again, it gives various options on how to start it (instead of in the cart on your way to execution))
- Ordinator - Perks of Skyrim (overhaul of the perk trees - I must say that I don't know that one as I used another one on PC, but these tend to be vast improvements over vanilla)
- Diverse Dragons Collection (if you want more dragons)
- Falskaar (that's basically a fanmade DLC with an entire new zone to explore, with voiced NPC, etc...quite nice)
- Moonpath to Elsweyr (same thing, but in Khajit land)

I dont know how many of those are usable on the Xbox. I cant imagine the ones that add whole new areas will work.

Honestly for as cool as modded Skyrim can be, I recommend playing it mostly vanilla at least once.

Yeah, you can really get a grasp for it's potential playing it vanilla and then have that feeling totally overwhelmed by the insane talent in the modding community.

Better horses eh?
I can't remember if I tried that one.
I do remember Convenient Horses used to be able to let you make your horses faster. Not OP faster but more than the "slower than player sprint speed cap" it is in vanilla.

I was sure there was a mod that let you put a ring on each finger if you so chose.
I mean, that makes things OP in some places but it's very nice to play as a rich bastard with loads of bling.

Ash Williams even shown up in the game's credits, but given his messy copyright situation, they might have taken him off the game, and sped up Robocop's release for Aftermath. I do recall Mileena and Shinnok being mentioned as future additional characters too, yes.

I picked these from lists such as this one which listed XBox-compatible mods, although since I've only ever played it on PC I don't know how actually true these lists are. They might have been made by a PC player browsing the XBox workshop.

However I still think the Unofficial Patch is worth adding even in Vanilla, I think it corrects a couple of vanilla bugs.

So... haven't fucked up my run in Shadowrun Returns so far, tho I'm still just at the beginning. I'm ending up with an elf girl who goes around packing a shotgun and having a drone watch her back and...

...

... I just realized who that reminds me off. I swear to God I wasn't doing it on purpose xD xD xD

It certainly cant hurt. Unless you care about achievements.

If he wasn't using a console there'd be a mod to get around that. Oh well.
